Perfect! Dragonpelt thought.
Suddenly he jumped out from behind a nearby fir tree and slapped both paws on Featherstar's back.
"Come on, you must have more tact than that dear leader!" he shouted happily, running back toward the other cats. "No tagbacks, you'll have to catch someone else!" He added this, a phrase he'd developed from watching the twoleg kits in his old home, they were never allowed to tag the one who'd tagged them.

Featherstar smiled. Good move, Dragonpelt! In a way, she realized, this game is like a battle. We're actually helping ourselves and having fun! Then she took off after Snowstripe. You'd better run Snowstripe, here I come!

Quick pawsteps and she was running up slabs of rocks along the side of the camp, laughing and tail held high as she leaped down onto another rock. She soared over the nursing den, whirled around the cats as they scattered and kept running... Running.. Never once stopping to look back

Dragonpelt raced off after Snowstripe, Loveless, Brindlepaw and Pinepaw flanked out behind him. He wondered who Featherstar would catch!

As Snowstripe fled, Featherstar suddenly whirled around and began to run after Loveless. He was quite near. She gathered speed and leapt, just far enough to tag him with her white paw. Gotcha! she cried.

Right at the last second, Loveless found a sudden burst of speed, just barey dodging beyond the edge of the clan leader's swipe.
"Ha-ha! You missed!"
He taunted playfully, and raced off again.

Wanna bet? Featherstar shouted. Suddenly she kicked up her speed and ran past Loveless, turned back, and cut him off. Now she was right in his path to anywhere. He had no where to go.

“Sure, I’m a betting cat.”
This was where years of rogue life came into play for the tom. His muscles bunched as he raced directly for his leader, powerful hind-muscles springing him right over her as he leaped. Loveless moved his tail, holding it high, his legs close to his body, providing the smallest target for Featherstar to tag.
And then he landed, kicking up dirt as he took off again.
“Try Snowstripe!”

As a matter of fact, I will! Featherstar yelled as Loveless landed. She then locked her eyes on the black she-cat and took off, tail streaming behind her. This time she was determined to get a cat! How dare you cats be so fast! she shouted in mock anger. Actually, speed was good. It could help in a battle. She continued racing after Snowstripe, doging a large rock in the process.
