Dragonpelt followed Snowstripe all the way back to camp, keeping close next to her to make sure she didn't fall behind. Once they reached their home, he dismissed the other cats and padded after her into the Medicine cat's Hollow. He looked around frantically, but saw no one but the two of them.
He walked up to Snowstripe, "I don't think she's here..." he said, his voice tight with worry.

I don't think so either.. She coughed into the darkness, laying down outside the den. She lay on her side, mewing softly in pain. She let out a sigh, whiskers twitching.

Dragonpelt felt guilt wash over him like a river. He should've realized it sooner, he should have warned her before she drank the horrible water. Twoleg things were dangerous and their foul smelling poisons could kill a cat in hours if not treated. He knelt over Snowstripe and nuzzled her cheek with his muzzle, hoping to comfort her.
"We have to get those poisons out of you..." he said, desperate for an answer. "Do you know anything of medicine?"

No.. She said softly, eyes growing dimmer. She tried to think back to when she watched the medicine cats at work.. She couldn't recall anything that healed poison. Especially this 'oil'. She'd heard of it, but never had she seen it. She was dying, and she knew it.
She raised her head, trying to think.

Dragonpelt's face contorted with anguish.
"No you can't give up!" he shouted, more forceful than he'd meant, but he couldn't bare it if she died. "We need something to make you vomit, so we can clean out your stomach and then something to cleanse the poison...I know there's something!" He was trying so hard to remember.

She looked up. She wasn't giving up hope, nor giving up. No where near it.. She had too much spirit to do that. She was fighting as hard as she could to stay alive, but the poison was draining from her.
What is it called? I might know where to find it. She said, her eyes shining with hope.

She nodded passively and shuddered, tail flicking gently. Hurry though.. She mewed, closing her eyes.

Dragonpelt knelt to Snowstripe's face and nuzzled her neck, wishing he could somehow pass some strength from his body into hers. His face was twisted with sorrow as he stood again, giving her one last lick on her nose before he dashed off to find herbs.
"I'll be back as fast as my feet can carry me!" he told her.

Snowstripe nodded, accepting the nuzzle and she got to her stomach, tail twitching. She let out a shaky sigh, still trembling as her body began to get cold.

Dragonpelt raced into the clearing and down into the medicine cat's hollow. He skidded to a stop in front of Snowstripe and dropped his bundle before her, panting heavily.
"Eat the lighter ones first, the darker ones are to cleanse your blood, the others make you vomit..." he said, trying to catch his breath.

By now, alls she could manage to do was open an eye and blink softly. Her body was numb, and the words he said were blurry. She sniffed at the light one, shying away from it. She growled. She knew what this one was, but she ate it and swallowed it.

Dragonpelt settled down, waiting for her to cough up the contents of her stomach. He wanted to comfort her, but he would wait until she relieved herself so he didn't get it all over his fur and make her sick again from the stench.

With all the strength she could manage, she stood on her feet and darted out of sight. She returned a minute or two, trembling. She lay back down again, a low growl deep in her chest. She didn't recognize the red one, but she ate it anyways, tail twitching softly.

Dragonpelt was worried, there was no guarantee that she would pull through. He looked at her gravely.
"Are the herbs alright...do you feel any better?" he asked gently.

She didn't respond, but merely nodded and padded out of the way of the den to curl up and fall fast asleep, just as the old rogue had said. Her tail flicked one last time before laying at her side beneath her foot.

Dragonpelt felt relieved that she seemed to be doing better, but his heart still ached with worry and it wouldn't let him leave her. So he crept closer to her and laid down beside her, resting his paw over hers as his tail was much to short to touch her. He leaned his head towards her face and snuggled against her, hoping to share some of his body heat with her as she was so cold.
