zetsubou kara no hajimari te ni shlta kara ;;
Kestrel leaped smoothly onto the stone, feeling the familliar chinks and rough patches; already the mighty bouler was familliar to her. As was the view from the top.
The sky was blue once again, as it so often was in RisingClan summers. Even in daylight, the moon's faint reflection flickered dully. Dusk was not far off, and almost as an afterthought, there was a bruisey-purple smudging on the horizon.
Kestrel, monarch of RisingClan, raised her head and gave the call:
"Cats of RisingClan, gather here beneath the Boulder! I have an announcement!"

Bluerage emerged just seconds after hearing the call, tail flicking for the rest of the party to follow her. Her eyes burned in curiosity as she sat down before the rock, ears flicking forward. "Yes, Kestrel?" She asked, slightly surprised at the calling. She was having such a grand time with her apprentice and current adoration, Crisp. Even Bete held some sort of entertainment for her.

Crisp slipped into the camp on the opposite side of the entrance that Kestrel stood on. Hearing her call, he had led the hunting patrol back to camp - most of the way; Bluerage had taken the lead with him after a bit - and now he sat in the front of the group of cats assembling. The charming black tomcat had watched her with a dreamy look in his eyes. I must get the courage to speak to her without making a fool of myself, Crisp told himself as he stood a few tail-lengths away from her. He looked for a place to sit, and then watched as Bluerage sit before Kestrel. Perhaps after the meeting?
The RisingClan warrior trotted over to the pretty blue tabby and sat beside her, nodding politely in greeting. His amber eyes twinkled with both adoration and anxiety; she was so beautiful and he felt as though he couldn't live up to her standards. He sat quite a few mouselengths away from her, but not so far as though to make Bluerage think he didn't like her - he did!

Darkwhisker followed Bluerage and Crisp into the camp, her tail flicking. She dropped vole onto the fresh-kill pile before sitting a few tail-lengths away from her mentor and Bluerage's, ah, 'friend'. Her ears flicked with amusement; they would make a good couple, and their kits would be strong and healthy.
ooc - don't you love my shortness?! xD

Gracia, having just slipped out of the camp to get a better feel for the territory - even though she'd been here a while - heard her leaderess's call and trotted back in. Poco scampered after her and as she sat, he climbed up her back and sat lightly on his kitty's head. His thin tail flicked back and forth as he watched the felines assemble; though he and Gracia had been with RisingClan for at least a few moons, he was still wary of the cats. Gracia's eyes flitted up to the mouse on her head.
"Poco! ¿Qué sucede? ¿Por qué llama ella una reunión?" Gracia whispered to Poco. The little field mouse jumped down to the ground, a risky thing for such a small mouse from such a height. "I could ask the same thing myself..." Poco murmured to himself in English, then shook his head and turned back to his she-cat. "Ella tiene un anuncio importante," the field mouse squeaked.

Passionflower stepped out of the nursing den, blinking in the light. She padded out into the open, taking a few steps, and then paused and turned around. Sighing, she poked her head back into the nursery. As she re-emerged into the main clearing, her tail flicked. Four three-moon-old kits were following her, their tails all held high as they trotted along. Ebonyleaf was the first among them. Passionflower led them to the group of cats assembling and sat, waiting for Kestrel's announcement.
Ebonyleaf followed her mother proudly, her wiry little tail sticking straight into the air. Her chin was held high and she padded along with confidence as Kestrel called the meeting. What could be happening now? Surely the four kits - Ivorytail, Dancefeather, Cottonclaw and herself - weren't being made apprentices early? She pricked her ears hopefully.

ooc - 'Punctuation' doesn't mean placing random periods everywhere. Instead of "The New Member of the Rising clan Rumba. Was take a nap when. He heard the call." should be "The new member of RisingClan, Rumba, was taking a nap when he heard the call."

I went walking in with my mama one [ day ] When she warned me what people say
Live your life until love is found 'Cause love's gonna get you down
A she-cat followed Passionflower and her kits out of the nursery, her ears flicking as she stepped into the bright light. The Japanese Bobtail padded quickly into the shade as she got used to the sun's brilliant gleam. Kestrel, her noble leader, had called a meeting. The nursery hand sat near the back of the throng of felines, her slight shyness getting the slight better of her. She had not noticed Kanji, dearest Kestrel's half-sister and also a nursery hand, emerge from the nursery, but the Japanese fae was not sure where her friend was.
"Hai , ri^da^ ?" Kanashimi's ears flicked as she spoke quietly from the back, but loud enough for every cat to hear, of course.
Take a look at the [ girl ] next door She's a player and a downright bore
Jesus wants her, she wants more Oh [ bad girls ] get you down
[ 'yes, leader?' ]

Koinaka gotoku fuyu
A pale she-cat slid from the nursery, her ears twitching at her half-sister's call. She could hear the clamor of the other cats already-- she was late.
Kanji navigated the narrow ledge that led down from the nursery with practiced ease; no longer did the pathway make her nervous. She paused for a moment as the wind tossed a wild mix of scents toward her: cats she knew, and a few newcomers. RisingClan scent.
The she-cat leaped down onto what she knew to be solid earth and padded into the crowd, using her sensitive whiskers to wave between cats. The scent of her friend Kanashimi attracted her, and Kanji turned her head toward her, wide, clouded blue eyes gleaming.
"Kanashimi? Nou maro za kouhou hon taimen?" Kanji's quiet, slightly uncertain voice could scarcely be heard beneath the noise of her fellows. Rough Translation: [ Kanashimi? What's this meeting about? ]

Kanashimi glanced to Kanji as the other nursery hand sat beside her. The young femme realized with a smile that Kanji and her had a lot in common: they were both Japanese; they were both interested in kits and were nursery hands; and both of their names started with the letter 'k'. Her ears flicked as she gazed forward once more to Kestrel.
"Watashi ha kakushin sh*teimasen, Kanji," Kanashimi mewed, and as more and more cats assembled, she knew Kestrel would start the meeting soon. The young Japanese fae realized that Kestrel, too, was part Japanese, and her name started with 'k'.
"Watash*tachi ha juubun nisuguni kiga tsukimasu !" The semi-longhaired feline's honey-coated Japanese voice was soft, and she pointed with her paw to their leader - and Kanji's half-sister - and then gestured to the assembled felines.

Koinaka gotoku fuyu
Kanji felt the movement of her friend's paw as it brushed her long, sensitive whiskers; she heard Kanashimi's voice keenly. She guessed what the gesture was, but she did not see it; after all, Kanji was blind. She had been born with sight, but had lived with it for only a few moons. Years had passed since then; at least one year, and in cat-time that was an age. Kanji saw with her whole body now.
"Chin jou i hiroimono auto sate, makoto ni," Kanji meowed, humor tinkling in her high, young voice.
For Kestrel had begun to speak.
Rough Translation: [ We will find out now, actually. ] zetsubou kara no hajimari te ni shlta kara ;;
Kestrel meowed, her voice loud and powerful, "Cats of RisingClan, tonight marks a milestone for our Clan--
We are going to the Gathering!"
The words echoed against the stone cliffsides and rolled across the crowd. "We are a real Clan; we are allied with three of the four original Clans. By going this night, we are cementing our ties with them. We are making our debut. Whether this debut will be greeted with shock or anger or friendliness, it is our right to be there."
She swept her implacible gaze across the members of her Clan. "We will observe their Truce. We will honor their laws. Any cat who disrupts the peace will be severely punished."
Then her face softened. "But I trust you who are going will be able to handle that. The camp must be left well-protected, so I will take few cats with me."
She paused for a moment, giving the crowd a chance to give their opinions. Then she continued, her voice ringing out; "Chasm! Juniper! Deepcreek! Bete! Life, Soulless, you can come if you choose. Crisp, Bluerage, you will be in charge of the Clan whilst we are away. Your apprentices, Darkwhisker and Graystorm, may come with me to the Gathering by your leave." An actual spark of humor lit Kestrel's mismatched eyes. "You two, if you beg them enough, they might let you go," she meowed, her voice amused. Then the leader fell silent.

New life seeps from the shadows...
Chasm was both thrilled and terribly worried that he had been chosen to go to the Gathering. He liked the idea of being able to test out his skills as a deputy, but he wondered how the main Clan leaders would react to their intrusion. He hoped StarClan at least; would approve. Awaiting the direction of his leader, Chasm sat by his apprentice and twitched his tail in anticipation.

Deepcreek padded into camp very quietly, and sat listening to announcements. She was reserved as the gathering was mentioned, and reserved as she discovered she'd be allowed to go.
Except, she did stand and chase her tail in a circle once before settling herself back down. So! A gathering it was. She was excited, because she'd heard of them but, of course, never been to one.

Bluerage's face fell at the thought that she was not joining them at the gathering. But she softened a little at the thought that Crisp would be with her. They could be alone, for the most part, to talk. She cast him a shy glance, the first one since she'd had known them.
It struck her how little she new of the opposite gender. She was intellectual, always plotting out tactics and battle movements. Toms were of a different scenario, for guys were sometimes unpredictable. She gave a chuckle. Perhaps she found herself more feminine that she knew, always the thought crossing her mind that she was a tom-boy.
All the same, some habits die hard for her. A tom-boy at heart she'd always be. With some girl habits in mind.
She stretched, expecting a full-on barricade of pleads and begs to go to the gathering from her apprentice, if not overhearing Graystorm's to Crisp. She smiled in spite of herself.
Her apprentice was so calm and quiet, so easy to work with and eager to learn. Bluerage couldn't have asked for a better apprentice.
She'd been working hard, Bluerage would let her go. Even if it meant letting her off alone with her rather playful brother. Shame.
At least all the rest could keep an eye on her.
She bent down and touched her nose briefly to Darkwhisker's ear, smiling. "Tell me how it goes when you get back. I want to hear all about it, alright??" She asked with a friendly smile, stepping back to bow to Kestrel and join at Crisp's side.

Darkwhisker's eyes lit up as Kestrel said that she could go to the Gathering if Bluerage allowed her. Oh, StarClan! She turned hopefully to her mentor, and as the blue tabby said she could, the little gray apprentice leaped to her paws and chased her tail - quite like Deepcreek had just done. Her copper eyes were bright with excitement. She'd meet apprentices from the original four Clans! Darkwhisker thought of DuskClan and shuddered. But then TreeClan came to mind, and MistClan and StoneClan, and she was a bit happier. The tree-dwelling Clan was said to be noble and brave; MistClanners were intelligent and StoneClan was strong. She wondered if the apprentices there would accept her. Darkwhisker turned to her brother, Graystorm.
"Can you believe it?"
Then she realized Crisp hadn't said anything, and she nudged her brother.
"Ask him!"
Her tail twitched with anticipation. Bluerage and Crisp seemed to like each other; wouldn't Crisp want his apprentice to leave so that the two could have time to talk?

Crisp jolted as Kestrel said that he and Bluerage would be left alone. He glanced at the assassin, then dragged his gaze down to his apprentice, Graystorm. Before the young tom could speak, he flicked his tail over the dark gray tom's head.
"You can go with Darkwhisker," he purred. His ear flicked towards Bluerage, and now he felt like he couldn't wait for the rest of RisingClan to leave. He wanted to talk to her; did she still think he was afraid of her? Hah! That was a funny thought...the only thing he was afraid of was talking to Bluerage. But right now he was an idiot. "Could we talk?" His tail flicked and he padded to a corner, hoping that Bluerage would follow. He sat and wrapped his tail around his forepaws.
"I..." He trailed off as he was about to say, 'I really like you.'

Bete came...
Late...
As always...
At least she came in time to hear that she was going to the Gathering.
My first! she thought happily. But what am I slow and miss the group leaving? she thought sadly, No matter, I'll try my best not to leave the camp until it's time to go! Plain and simple right?
So...
What now?
Hm, what's Crisp over there saying to Bluerage?
The siamese let a keen ear turn and listen to what Crisp had to say.
She knew what Crisp was saying!
Was he really going to tell Bluerage?
Tell her! Tell her!
Not knowing if Crisp even saw it, Bete turned and winked at him. Then she bounced happily foward, sitting closer to Kestrel. She would thank her later.
Tell her! Tell her!
Thanks Kestrel!
Tell her!

In all of Starclan, if Bluerage ever selected to believe in it, Bluerage wasn't expecting what Crisp was about to say. Truth-be-told, she believed she was going to be told off for something!! Did she do something wrong with Darkwhisker? Did she say something wrong...?
Was there something stuck in her teeth???
She ran her tongue over the ivory surfaces just to make sure of the last possibility. But before joining, she made a detour and stopped by the fresh-kill pile, grabbing a plump ptarmigan she had caught the day before and two fieldmice for herself, and carried it over to where Crisp sat. She set the bird down at his feet before setting her own feast down and laying across the dirt in front of him where she could keep a silver eye turned to the entrance.
Nothing would ever get past her tonight, even if she had to give her life to protect this camp.
She cast him a curious eye, her mind thundering with worry and curiosity. "Yes?" She asked evenly, flipping her tail over in contentment.

This was it.
He'd tell her.
But would she be angry?
Crisp shook his head, to clear it of these dreadful thoughts. Perhaps she wouldn't be cross...perhaps she'd even like him back! Well, he swished his tail and then wrapped it back around his forepaws. He opened his mouth and closed it. No...he would do it.
"I really like you!" He blurted it out louder than he'd intended to, and thought that the whole of the rogue meadow heard it. Sunsetfire would have heard it and take back his alliance with RisingClan. Bane would have heard it and find a weakness in the Clan. He lowered his gaze and shuffled his paws.
"...Are you angry?"
