Blackheart nodded respectfully towards the young leader.
“Indeed I shall.”
And he would too; he just had to make sure his suspicions were founded on solid ground first. He wouldn’t say anything to Amberstar to send the clan on a wild goose chase and waste their resources…that would be a foolish action and not assist in the well-being of Treeclan.
He kept the thought of an alliance muted as well – although a nagging voice deep in his mind continuously told him that they were going to need allies – to need allegiances - to survive the coming days of darkness.

Maplepaw stayed silent as he sat a fair distance away from his mentor and leader. So Stoneclan hadn't any apprentences...that was strange. He vaguely wondered what life would be like for a kit in that clan. It seemed like all of the kits in Treeclan were apprenticed already, or were about to be.
There was a lot of energy in the air, especially between the two slightly younger kits in the area of the camp. It seemed that something interesting was a bout to happen!

Onyxpelt flicked her ears forward as Maplepaw and Blackheart returned.
It wasn't like she'd even talked to any of the other apprentices... or any cat, reall, except Amberstar. This was NOT a good way to get used to living in a Clan, nope.
Looking uncomfortable and kind of shy, even for all that Maplepaw hadn't showed any inclination to be anythign but friendly to her. She stood awkwardly nearby enough that it was clear she was trying to be social, and dipped her head quickly in greeting.
"Hi..." he said, flicking her tail and trying not to look as terribly shy as she felt.

The words spoken by Blackheart, however did give her an idea. She decisively thought to herself she'd go out and train Onyxpelt after a while, when it appeared he had nothing else to do. She excused the black warrior, and she herself trotted out of her den briskly to look over her clan.

Blazekit gasped, and glanced at the funny little kit named Fishstick. "Ya hear that!" He mewed excitedly. "We're gonna' be apprentices!" He looked up at Shinzui, golden eyes matching her flame ones.
"Hi, Shinzui! I'm Blazekit, soon to be Blazepaw! Nice to meet ya!" He purred, jutting a paw forth for her to shake. He was happy, excited, cheerful; he obviously wanted to hurry and get started.

The ex-kittypet laughed softly, her little bobtail twitching as she looked at the small Blazekit.
"A little patience young one. Amberstar must first make the proper announcements.

She felt a little guilty to suddenly call all the cats back, but her deputy had finally returned only after the announcement.. And the rather hectic event with Fishstick. Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather at this rock. May Blazekit and Fishstick come forth.. She said the second name with a bit of distaste. No, it wasn't she didn't like Fishstick. But the young kit was eager, and far too hyper. His chosen mentor would have to work hard with him if she planned to make him into a calm and fierce warrior..

Maplepaw turned to look at Onyxpelt, whom he knew as the nice she-apprentice that didn't talk often. Kind of like himself, if he thought about it. He heard Amberstar's anouncement and whispered to her, only slightly breaking the rules, "Hello! You're called Onyxpelt, right?"
Though he wasn't exactly shy, he was very uneasy with words, often stumbling over them whilst deciding what to say.

As soon as he heard Amberstar's call, the old black tom padded to join the other gathered cats. Fishstick? What self-respecting cat would be named Fishstick?
Ah, well...you couldn't always choose the name you had. He was, indeed, pleased to see Treeclan growing. These apprentices would boost the strength they so dearly needed now.

((Dunno if it was a typo or not, but Onyxpelt's female!))
Onyxpelt's eyes flicked to Maplepaw when he whispered to her after Amberstar had called them all back together. She grinned slightly, because a few of her siblings used to do that when their mother had been speaking.
Onyxpelt nodded to show she'd heard Maplepaw She didn't want him to think she was just ignoring him, but she didn't want to get in trouble for talking while Amberstar was speaking, either.

Fishstick walked towards Amberstar quietly, his tailtip twitching with excitment. He was trying to be good, on his best behaviour. Not being clan born, little Fishstick didn't exactly know what to do next, so he sat his rump down at the bottom of the rock, looking up at his leader his bright green eyes.
Ooc: Blah, sorry for shortness.

Ray looked on with hidden interest. In truth, he was just as nervous and excited as the kits. He'd never had an apprentice before. The idea that he was about to get one was thrilling and terrifying all at once. So, he hid everything behind that calm gold face, only seeming to be midly interested with the Apprentice ceremony. He hovered around the gathered cats, copper eyes alight with his surpressed emotions.
A small smile creased his face as he saw Fishstick come forth. That kit was a little too hyper, but his head was in the right place. At the moment, he was on good behavior, sitting patiently at the foot of Amberstar's rock. Casually he wondered what his apprentice name would be. Surely he wouldn't keep anything from his current name... Hopefully...

The she-cat narrowed her eyes as she peered over the side. Blazekit did not step from the crowd! Irritable, she turned to the single kit sitting at her feet. Then that leaves me with just you, Fishstick. She raised a brow. I shall not let Blazekit's absence destroy this apprenticement. Let us begin.
Fishstick! Your name is not that of a common kit's name, and therefore your unique name will stay the same. And with that, I have selected... She looked into the crowd at a certain tom.
Rayheart, please step forth. She flicked her tail contently, letting the other kits absence slide over her fur like water on a stone. You are ready for your first apprentice, and with that you will see to Fishstick's training. You've cooperated with the clan in an honest and dignified manner, and therefore I trust you to train Fishstick into an excellent warrior, just as you did coming through this clan.

The young tom, who was looking around for Blazekit suddenly turned and sat at attention when his name was spoken. He was glad he would get to keep his name, he liked it afterall. To anyone but him, it seemed silly. Maybe once he grew out of it he could get it changed. Who knows?
Rayheart was going to be his mentor! That sounded nice! He ws going to train Fishstick to be an excellent warrior, yes yes yes, and excellent warrior Fishstick shall be!

It took Ray until just now to really figure out that Fishstick was to be his apprentice. Now, with a slight sinking feeling, did he realize the immense responsibility he was taking on. Hoo-boy. This was gonna be stressful, he could tell already. With a sigh and a quick glance to StarClan, Ray put on a tired smile and pushed his way to the fron of the crowd to come sit behind his new apprentice.
"Your trust in me will not be regretted, M'Leader." He bowed as far as he could with Fishstick in front of him, quickly taking a good look at the kitten. Those leafy-green eyes were full of energy and a lust to prove himself.
Yeah, this kit would certainly be a pawful.

>>ooc: I'm gonna assume the apprenticing is over
Rayheart turned to Fishstick, seeing him with different eyes now that he was his responsibility. He put on a cool, nonchalant smile for the kit, coppery eyes hooded for the moment being.
" C'mon, ya little fish, let's go." He chuckled slightly at this new nickname. "I say we being training now. Sound good?"
Ray wasn't really expecting an answer, and would go to the trainging grounds regardless as to anything he did say, but paused slightly after he swiveled around towards the training area. He flicked up an ear inquisitively, waiting for Fishstick's answer.

The senior warrior walked in at that moment, his mouth full of fresh-kill for the clan. His golden fur was dimmed by the shady light provided by the Great Oak he stood under. Blinking slowly, he realized, slightly embarrased, that he had missed a Clan meeting. No going back now, he thought, as he headed his way towards the fresh-kill pile. Dropping his two mice and a chickadee, Sunpelt, turned to the gathered clan, hoping someone might give him a heads up on the Gathering he had missed. Two kits, of apprentice age and ones he didn't know, seemed elated beyond the usual kit peppyness. An apprenticeship? Wonder who the lucky cats were? Weaving through the clan cats, he made his way past Blackheart, to whom he gave a polite nod, too, his apprentice Maplepaw, Onyxpelt, Shinzui, and a few others. All of which showed various signs of emotion, befuddling the warrior to what news had passed in his absence.
