Clan Gathering

[Blackheart]

Blackheart thought nothing more of the young tattered golden tom. His mind focused fully on assisting the young mother to the nursery, where she could be safely with her little kits.

What could the old tom say? He didn’t actually have a soft spot for the little ones; he tried to avoid them so not to be reminded of the ones he lost. However, Rainfall was a good she-cat, and her kits deserved only the best.

Not only that, they were Treeclan kits, and Blackheart was dedicated to defend them with his life if it came fully down to it. Them, all the other cats in Treeclan, even the territory itself. His loyalty ran that strong.

[Amberstar]

<sub>Everything was slowly but surely getting settled in. Rainfall had her kits no problem, and had her moved into the nursery without complaint. After dropping the kit off with it's mom, she came back out and delivered the deceased kitten to Eatbugs. He'd know what to do with it..

She jumped upon her usual stone, eyes gleaming with an almost joyful look flourishing through the amber souls of her orbs. She yowled out into the clan, getting their attention. Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey to come forth for an important announcement. May Mudkit and Onyxpelt please approach the rock? She asked loudly so they would hear her through the chaos. She looked down at the spot below the rock, expecting them to approach at any moment.</sub>

[Onyxdart]

Onyxpelt hung back for just a second, almost wondering if she was in trouble, but then figured she hadn't done anything to get in trouble for.

The small black cat trotted forward and sitting below the rock quietly, looking very composed, even if she didn't quite feel it. She wrapped her tail around her paws and tilted her head up to watch Amberstar. Her tailtip twitched anxiously, and with a half annoyed grin, she subtly moved so one of her paws was pinning the rebellious tailtip to the ground.

((She's such a DORK. I'm pretty sure I didn't originally intend for her to be so painfully shy, but uh... it ended up happening that way!))

[mudkit]

As he was coming back from fetching the bedding, his head perked up as he heard his and Onyxpelts name being called to come fourth.

Mudkit trotted up there, forgetting the bedding was in his mouth, somewhat smiling with excitement. He didn't know what was going to happen but he was excited and nervous at the same time. He knew it would be good.

((OOC: I'll make Maplepaw come back after the announcement, as it'd be akward for him to randomly pop in with a squirrel during a gathering. : P ))

<sub>She smiled reassuringly to both kits as they came before her.. Just as she expected. She looked up at the cats around her, making sure she had their attention.

She looked down at Mudkit. From this day forward, until he have earned his Warrior name, this apprentice will be known as Mudpaw. She nodded to the young kit, flicking her tail. She turned her attention to Thunderstep.

Thunderstep! She called out. You are ready for your first apprentice. You will begin Mudpaw's training. She let out a deep breath before continuing. You are a fine warrior and have served Treeclan all your life. I trust you will be a fine mentor.

Her attention then drew to Onyxpelt. Onyxpelt? You will remain with the name you have been given, for yours is not a typical kit nor apprentice name. She looked at the small kit. I, personally, will see to her mentoring. I will mentor Onyxpelt. She announced to the entire clan, letting her words sink in. She didn't jump off the rock as she normally did, but remained where she was.. Lest someone had objections to their new apprenticeship.</sub>

((I assumed Onyxpelt didn't want to go backwards with her name, so I left it where it was. I hope you don't mind!! ))

Thunderstep turned from Rainfall for a second to watch Amberstar call Onyxpelt and Mudkit up. Maybe he was going to be a mentor now! But why didn’t Amberstar call him up..... No, he would be called up later. Maybe another time... His tail twitched as he waited to find out what would happen, and he didnt try to stop it.

Rainfall paused for a second and sat down, putting her kits down too, to listen. She didnt know if queens ventured from their kits to listen. She had never payed attention to what the queens did...


Onestone put the kit down and gave a little spit mumbling something about how kits taste bad, and she would rather carry a moue around all day. But pride and joy still shown in her eyes.

Mudpaw looked around the Clan camp smiling, eyes full of pride. He was just one more step closer to being a TreeClan warrior, ...Mudpaw ...Mudpaw. He repeated his new name over and over in his head as his tail flicked around with happiness. He waited his whole life, even though his life has been 6 moons long.

Thunderstep darted forward to touch noses with Mudpaw, and started to chant "Mudpaw, Mudpaw!" Just waiting for the rest of the clan to join. He sat down next to Mudpaw, not truly knowing what to do now. Start Mudpaw's training, or care for his kits. "Mudpaw, tomorrow I will take you out with a patrol and we can check out the boarders, if you would like!" then turning to Amberstar he continued "And if it okay with Amberstar?"

Rainfall purred happily at her mate. She knew how long he had been waiting for an apprentice, and how much he wanted one. And what better apprentice then one she already liked. But right now she had to get into her new nest. She picked up her kits, leaned against Blackheart and went on.

[Amberstar]

<sub>A thought seemed to occur in her mind, and she guiltifully looked around at her clan. Treeclan! She yowled, silencing them as she spoke this last time. Our old Deputy has not been around here, and my fear is she has moved on. She let out a sigh and looked up at her clan. Listen, and I will appoint the new deputy!

Attention all on her, her tail curled around her paws. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits our our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. She couldn't help but let the cats ponder as she let a pause in her announcement.

... The new Deputy will be Blackheart. She announced, raising her head so she may let the cats hear her out.

Before she jumped from the rock, she nodded to Thunderstep in acceptance to his request on taking his new apprentice out. She hit the earth silently, padded towards Onyxpelt. I will take you out tomorrow to patrol the borders. We must let everyone settle in from the chaos that has reigned here in Treeclan. With that, she nodded and padded towards Blackheart.</sub>

Mudpaw touched noses with his new mentor, Thunderstep. His brownish yellow eyes gleamed and he smiled. He heard Thunderstep tell him they were going on patrol tomorrow. Once again Mudpaw smiled, he couldn't wait. He would now sleep in the apprentices den with all of the other apprentices.

He heard Amberstar once again and turned to face her, listening. ...the new deputy will be Blackheart. He smiled happily and knew that this Clan was getting bigger and better by the moment. He was glad he found TreeClan. He never knew there would be so much excitement so soon.

[Onyxdart]

((No name change is fine by me! I think originally she was bit on the old side of being a kit, and I was having issues thinking up a suitably kit-ish name for her... and well, so yeah!))

Onyxpelt grinned at Amberstar. She was officially an apprentice now! And since she hadn't really introduced herself to any of the other cats but Amberstar and Onestone, she was glad that Amberstar was going to be her mentor, because at least she had spoken to her before. Onyxpelt looked sideays at Mudpaw, catching the other apprentice's happiness. Her tail, still pinned under her paw, twitched anyway and she stopped standing on it. She listened quietly as Amberstar announced the new deputy, glancing around a moment before remmbering who Blackheart was.

"Thank you," she replied to Amberstar, and nodded respectfully as her mentor went by to go speak with Blackheart.

She stood, and her tail flicked a couple times, but not out of anxiousness this time so much as happiness.

[Mapleheart]

Maplepaw had been poking about the boundaries of the clan den, waiting for a not-so-akward moment to join the group. He found it after Amberstar stepped down from her perch, and he set down the slain squirrel, immediately trotting over to his mentor.

"Congratulations, Blackheart!" He now saw his mentor in a new light: he was the clan deputy! He must certainly be proud. And for Onyxpelt to have the leader! It was wonderful. And he, Maplepaw, now had two new nestmates: Onyxpelt and Mudpaw. Life seemed well.

Thunderstep walked up to Blackheart and nodded his head in congratulations. He was quite pride of him, but secretly wanted him to die, so he could be deputy. He tried to push that thought to the back of his head. This cat as respectable and kind, helping his mate along to the nursery.

((Dont worry I don’t want Blackheart to die XD If he becomes leader then there would be another Blackstar 8o I hope this one would be kinder... ))

[Blackheart]

[o.O *huggles Blackheart and loses her arm for doing so* No killie! I already have plotness for him!]

Blackheart froze; the older black tom in shock by Amberstar’s words. He looked around, at his clanmates, not betraying the bewilderment he felt by the sudden rise in rank. Why him? It was completely unexpected, and Blackheart dipped his muzzle towards Amberstar and murmured.

“I will serve Treeclan with my life.”

Yellow hues flicked to Thunderstep, not liking the look the wise tom read in the other’s eyes before it was shoved away. He marked that tom as yet another to watch out for, before taking another glance around. Where was the golden tom? Blackheart felt the fur along his spine prickle; he knew that Goldenblaze could not be up to any good for the clan.

“Thank you, everyone, for your congratulations.”

Thunderstep was a little taken back by the response from Blackheart, guessing he had seen the hard jealousy in his eyes. He nodded his head again, this time in small apologies, before walking off a little ways to look into the nursery, without leaving the clearing.

_{She nodded her head to Blackheart, her new deputy. But she looked him in the eye, ears flicking forward. That is why you have been chosen. But take into consideration, I did not make this choice lightly. She smiled lightly to her deputy before padding off to the nursery after Thunderstep.}

((I just realized.. Thunderstep would be, like, then next Tigerclaw if he keeps up that attitude. The 'yar, down with the deputy i wanna be deputy. owo I just kinda found it funny. Jealosy amongst cats!))
