Giddypaw off of a tree into the clearing. The tom unsheathed his claws and sharpened them against a rock. All his fighting, all his running from reality, had made his claws dull, and the tan tom bore permanent scars from cats of which he would never forget and in his heart, in rememberance of hearts which he had broken. Sunray's look on his face when he said goodbye to go to MistClan, Amberstar's sad look as she said how she was beggining to trust him, Sunpelt's evil eyes. Did Sunpelt still remember him? That's what Giddypaw wondered as he stopped sharpening and sat down in the center of the clearing, hoping someone would join him as he trained himself before war...

OOC: I intend to have Lillystar come here after she finishes her duties in the camp, so be patient. Of course Hawkeye is welcome to bring Dodgepaw here.

Dodgepaw blinked, looking at the tom training by himself in the training area. His father, Hawkeye, had suggested that the apprentice head here to get in some extra training – after all, he was older than most of the other apprentices, and had been an apprentice for quite a while.
But he certainly wasn’t expecting there to be another cat here. Although the fact he didn’t know the fellow apprentice wasn’t surprising; he still knew few in the clan. Maybe it was best that this other apprentice was a tom as well, poor Dodgepaw wouldn’t be gripped by one of his stuttering fits.
“Hello!”
His voice was kind, but the young tom was the kind sort, after all.

Giddypaw looked over his shoulder to see which cat was here. It was Dodgepaw! The Tom jumped up. "Hi Dodgepaw! Remember me?"
Why did he ask this question? If the tom did remember him, he might still be mad at him for barging into MistClan the first time...

“Uhhhh….”
The young orange and white tom blinked, looking lost. Since his family had only recently joined the clan, he still knew very few of the other cats after all.
“It’s….Giddypaw…right?”
Dodgepaw seemed to remember the name mentioned before, and he hoped this was the right cat. If not, well, he’d be very embarrassed to say the least.

Giddypaw nodded. So Dodgepaw did remember him! The tan tom walked closer to the Apprentice. "You aren't still mad right?" he asked worriedly. He wanted to make friends in MistClan, not enemies, and it would be better if he could make friends out of enemies.

Sleek fur, dripping with wet rivulets. A good shake and her coat was dry. White shimmered, saffron and ginger gleamed, her pelt was a vibrant canvas. Padding silently towards the training area, Lillystar readied herself for her "attack." It was a little harsh, she did admit, but she had to test them.
Crouching low in the undergrowth, she watched Giddypaw and Dodgepaw speaking with each other. In their idle chat, they hadn't even noticed her. She would now see what they made of an ambush. Leaping from her hiding place, she came down upon Giddypaw and pinned him to the earth. She yowled loudly and waited for his reaction. Just how would the apprentice counter this assault...?

Giddypaw's eyes windened with surprise. Why had his Leader and mentor done this to him?
The tan tom's shoulder's ached. He got ready to unsheathe his claws, but Lillystar seemed tired; she wasn't ready for that yet, and neither was he.
With that, Giddypaw raised his paw and swatted his mentor in the face to get her off him.
Getting up, breathing hard, Giddypaw growled. His chest heaved.

Lillystar took the swat to the face and moved off, allowing Giddypaw to get to his feet. Although she would not give up so fast. Launching herself at him, she bowled him over and struck at his hindquarters with sheathed claws. He was moving far too slowly and needed to fight back more strongly.
"Come on Giddypaw, you must have more in you than that!" she said, pursuing him.

Dodgepaw stared.
He hadn’t been expecting the clan leader to attack, however moments before her first strike to Giddypaw he caught her scent. His fur rose, fluffed up to both increase his size, and provide a layer of fluffy protection. Blue hues flicked, the tom made as if eh was going to circle around Lillystar and run back to camp.
But that was wrong.
At the extreme last second, as Dodgepaw was running around Lillystar in his escape attempt, he swerved, leaping to catch Lillystar in an aerial assault, seeking to land on her back.

Giddypaw lay on the ground for a moment, his eyes staring into nothingness as the wind was knocked out of him. Narrowing his eyes, the Apprentice rolled around on the ground and at the last moment, leaped into the air, aiming for his mentor's head. The tan tom's ears twitched.
"I give the surprise attacks not take 'em!" he screeched.
The tom figured this was a good ariel attack, and with Dodgepaw's help, he could defeat Lillystar in this mock war.

Lillystar had been waiting for this. She ducked to avoid Giddypaw's strike and then flipped over. Rolling onto her back, she flattened Dodgepaw beneath her. Then she kicked up with her back feet, trying to strike Giddypaw. Her claws were sheathed and she kept her blows soft, but she moved with the speed they would have to learn to cope with.

Giddypaw was surprised, but as his front paws touched the ground, the tan tom did a backflip onto Lillystar.
As he sat on his mentor, he giggled, but this wasn't funny anymore.
"Dodgepaw? You ok?" he asked worriedly, still sitting on Lillystar.

How embarrassing.
Dodgepaw groaned softy, getting up from being squashed by the clan leader. Thank goodness his father wasn’t here to see that.
Orange-pointed ears twitching, the light orange masked white apprentice blinked his blue eyes, looking at Giddypaw.
“I’m fine.”

Lillystar shook severely, trying to fling the tannish kit off of her back. Once she was poised again, she faced the two and addressed them directly.
"That wasn't too bad, I'm glad to see you worked together to try and defeat me, but you need to coordinate your attacks better," she said, eyeing them carefully. "If a BoneClan cat attacked you that way, they would have no qualms about slitting your belly open and eating your inards!" She didn't like having to be this harsh, but she had seen what BoneClan could do. "You must be ready for anything and learn to adapt quickly, because those cats will NOT give you a chance to recover as I did...you will be dead before you can blink if you react so slowly to one of their advances!" She stared into their eyes, making sure to send the point home.

Giddypaw nodded, listening keenly. "Yes Lillystar."
After he looked away, he started to mumble to himself, "I didn't get this bite mark to my neck for nothing."
It was a small bite mark, couldn't really be seen compared to the all the other scars he had. But his Leader's words brought it back to him. He had gotten it as a tiny little kit, ran away from TreeClan, and trustpassed on BoneClan territory. It had been inflicted by the great Bane himself. He was sorry for that, for after that bite came a great dead of deception. He wouldn't have caused so much hurt, and lost so much blood.
Giddypaw shook his head to clear his thoughts as he looked to his friend, Dodgepaw, then focused on his mentor once more.

“But what if we’re caught alone? You can’t rely on someone who isn’t there.”
Dodgepaw found it to be much easier to speak to Lillystar if he looked at his paws. After all, females made him…stutter.
“I know to get my back against something, so that they can only fight against my claws and fangs and can’t circle me.”

Lillystar nodded at Dodgepaw approvingly. The young cat was shy, but seemingly very tactful.
"Yes, but you never want to push yourself up against anything they could use against you, like rocks or brambles..." she warned. "If you are not careful, you could actually make it easier for them to kill you..."
