The arrival of Lillystar

Lillystar padded calmly into the clearing, though her heart was racing she kept her composure as she entered the camp. Cats milled all over the place and she wondered which she should talk to first, for Whisperstar had had little time to inform her of the cats' names or titles before she was gone. She strode into the exact middle of the clearing and did the one thing that seemed natural.

"Cats of Mistclan, please assemble before me!" she shouted to all that could hear. She figured the transition would be easier if she adressed her new charges on their level the first time, rather than seated atop the high rock.

OOC: Whisperstar and I need to talk about a definitive reason for why she has gone, but for now I will say that Lillystar at least was able to speak with her briefly. I'll inform the clan as soon I as I talk it over with her.

_{The young kit had fallen asleep besides his old friend's body. He was semi-concious when the she-leader spoke, and he flicked his ears; almost as if a fly were pestering him. He opened his eyes slowly as his surroundings came into focus. A voice.. Tall and Steady with much clarity and authority. But what had aroused him from his sleep was that the voice was /not/ Whisperstar's. Another friendly voice, almost as if calling him from the death. Calling him back to life. He turned to look at the new leader, flicking his tail. His paw's were tucked under Honeymist's stomach comfortably, and his nose and forehead and patches of his normally patchy coat were smeared with dry blood of his lost friend. Perhaps this leader could pull them from there dark times, where Whisperstar had left them. Perhaps this leader could even tell them where their old and strongly fond leader had gone to..??}

Ripplekit too, had fallen asleep next to the now-cold body of Honeymist. She yawned and raised her head to look up at the stranger. Who was she to call to all of the MistClan cats? She sat straight up, her fur mildly bristling out of caution. Where was Whisperstar? Ripplekit glanced around, and unable to find the missing leader, she instead fixed her gaze on the new she-cat.

Lillystar noticed the kit that was lying beside what seemed to be the body of another cat.

That must be Honeymist... Lillystar thought sadly. Whisperstar mentioned that there had been a recent death...

"Young one...are you alright, could you gather the others?" she asked him gently.

[Goldenblaze]

_{Rustpaw nodded and got to his feet, limping away to find the others, somewhere in this clan. Probably in the warriors den.. His wound had swollen and grown stiff from his excess of sleep, and the now cold 'pillow' he used that he drew comfort from certainly didn't help it. Trillium, bring the others; we've a new leader. He said softly, limping briskly back before the leader.}

Even at the new leader’s call, there was one kit that didn’t move to rise. Umberkit twitched her ears slightly, yellow hues half-lidded as she lifted her head weakly, looking at the new she-cat.

But where was Whisperstar? Had she joined Honeymist and Demonkit in the ranks of Starclan? Or had something called their noble leader away?

Umberkit didn’t know, and didn’t know if she could respond. Her legs had grown numb from lying next to the brave Honeymist, and she didn’t think she was ready to leave the warrior’s body and join them.

Lillystar watched as the young kits trudged over to meet her, feeling serious sympathy for them. She waited as they gathered others, wondering just how many cats there were. As they slowly assembled she tried to remember their names by the descriptions she'd been told.

That must be Rustpaw...judging by his markings and that little one is Ripplekit if I remember right... she thought. "Please, gather around...I'll explain as best I can..." she said, keeping the authority in her voice, but she was also kindly.

Shadowstreak awoke to the kit's calls and strode out of the warrior's den, stretching. She saw the stranger sitting in the clearing and tensed. She didn't know who this was, but when the stranger called for them to gather, she obeyed.

OOC: Since I have just this account, I will often play both Lillystar and Shadowstreak in the same post IF they are both in the same area as it saves space. You can identify them by their font colors!

[Wishclaw]

Wishclaw was sad. One of the cats had been killed... By her own kit even! Her whiskers drooped, and tail dragged across the ground as she walked over to the meeting. Emotions effect this cat, the emotions in the air. Sure, she had been sad already, but now... She was as sad as sad could be. But there was a new leader, surely she could tell them something? To leader them out of the dark? The she-cat sat with a thump, and hung her head in depression. If everyone were happy, she suddenly be bouncing around, singin' a favorite tune, even taking requests.

Ripplekit looked over at Umberkit, who had appeared to have just awoken, and was looking at the new cat with a somewhat dazed look. She scrambled over to her friend's side, and gave the black kit a gentle nudge.
"Heya, Umberkit.....," she mewed softly. "Are you okay?"

Feral hues fell on Ripplekit, and, at first, there was no recognition. Then, as the she-kit stared at the other, it finally came back to her.

“Ripple…kit?”

Her ears flattened, and she struggled to her paws.

“I don’t…”

Blinking a few times, she realized how silly she looked, standing there dazed and confused.

[Doubleheart]

It seemed that Doubleheart - who was still having some trouble adjusting to his new and improved name - hadn't quite done his new Clan as much justice as he had wanted to. Swept into a sudden void, he had been unseen for a long time, and was cautious about returning to his "home".

As he drew closer, he held is tail low, his differently coloured eyes gazing around nervously. Double had never quite felt this way; having always been a soldier, and a noble one at that! His white fur quivered as he tasted the air with a twitching pink nose, his eyes finally focusing on the group ahead.

He was immediately drawn to the stranger - well, they were all strangers really, he'd never gotten to know them after his acceptance by Whisperstar - who was radiating authority, and seemed to be trying to.. group the Clan together. He immediately began to worry for the friend he had made, the leader of the Clan, of whom he had spoken. It was at this point that he broke into a valiant run, slipping his thin body through the crowd to reach the front with concern lining his maw.

"Please ma'am, do excuse my rudeness in speaking out to you so - but do you know of Whisperstar?" His words were directed to the authoritive one, he alone voicing the concern that it seemed every other was feeling. In that moment, he was not fased by the fact that he appeared as a stranger to this Clan; after this cat had had her chance to explain, he was sure that he too would be asked to explain himself.

whoo, i'm back! (: will Double be able to keep his Warrior status? :S he was appointed by Whisperstar but I had an unexpected hiatus soon after.

Shadowstreak called for Icekit to come to her and watched as the new cat waited tensely for everyone to gather. She noted that Ripplekit was gathering Umberkit and Rustpaw was already seated with Doubleheart and Wishclaw in front of the newcomer.

Lillystar continued to wait for the other cats. The time it was taking was bothersome, but she allowed it because she knew they would all be grieving. "Please do gather, I want to explain to you as best I can..." she said, trying to hint at her urgency with her voice.

[Snowstar]

Rustpaw was on his tip toes, leaning forward as the urgency became sudden in her voice. If the moment hadn't been so serious, it would have been quite amusing; he looked about ready to fall over on his face and chest! Rustpaw nodded for her to continue, looking around as the other cats gathered around him and the she-cat, looking over at her curiously. Will you explain to us where Whisperstar's gone?! He blurted out suddenly, but he felt the pain. It was what everyone was thinking, even if it wasn't the most polite thing to do. He seated himself, looking a bit flustered but eyes still pinned on the she-cat

Ripplekit was alarmed as Umberkit didn't appear to recognise her for a few moments. Thankfully, Umberkit did, and as her friend got to her paws, Ripplekit looked up from Umberkit back at the she-cat.
"Yeah, where is Whisperstar?" She surveyed the camp again, but as before, she couldn't find their leader.
"She told us two days ago that we were to be apprenticed that night, and then she walked off, and none of us have seen her since," she continued. Had anything bad happened to the calm and kind Singapura? The question stayed in her head, as she got Umberkit and herself over to the cat and sat down before her.

[Silverthroat]

Silverthroat yowled out "I saw Stoneclans' mountains bleeding! Did that have to do with her! Has Stoneclan killed Whisperstar! What about her lives?!" Silverthoat's mind was on a rampage, spitting out every bad thought that came to her. She was to worried to stop.

Finally she ended "Will she come back?" Silverthoart didnt know how she would deal with the loss of her friend. Even if they hadn’t been as close as most Medicine cats and leaders she was still friends.

Icekit stretched in front of her den and padded softly up to her mentor,

"Is she our new leader?" Icekit asked sleepily "Whats her name?".

She laid down next to Shadowstreak glanced at the waterfall. In the waterfall Icekit saw the silverpelt dancing in the sky, she wondered what Honeymist was thinking as she watched the cats of mist clan and their new leader.

[Trillium]

Trillium finally emerged from the warrior den. The emotional impact of Honeymist's death had hit her hard: It very well could have been herself that was taken by Bane instead of Honeymist. The other warrior had courageously defended Trillium that day...the manner in which she had died was simply terrible.

Hearing the other cats calling about Whisperstar, her spirits lifted for a moment, then stood shock still when she saw a new cat in the leader's position. "What..?" she whispered to herself. She decided to listen, as the other clan members had already spoken her own questions quite well.

((Sorry 'bout that, guys! It was my first week of 'official' high school, and the workload was eating me. : P I should get into routine by next week, though.))

OOC: Okay I have not gotten an answer out of Idess for what actually happened to Whisperstar...so for now I will improvise...^^;;

Lillystar decided to begin and hoped everyone she couldn't see was within earshot.

"Good cats of Mistclan...I will explain this to you as best I can and I hope you will give me your attention..." she started tentatively. "Your leader Whisperstar has met with me for some time and told me of your clan it's members and workings...I didn't know it until just the other day, but she intended for me to take her place." She paused, letting that sink in. "Just yesterday she explained that all she had told me was for me to become the new leader, which made me both very happy and very nervous...fearing I would be chased away...but I see at least for now you are all kind enough..." She paused, hoping she wouldn't sound offensive. "Whisperstar schooled me for weeks and then told me she had something she needed to do and was not sure if she would ever return...then she left and told me no more..." "So I am your new leader Lillystar, I hope you will regard me kindly...I know you will never be able to forget Whisperstar...but I hope you will not hold me in contempt for her leaving..." She finished and sat, waiting for remarks to start.


Shadowstreak had hushed her apprentice-to-be when the she-cat had started speaking, but now she answered her. "Well it seems she is our new leader...I wonder what Whisperstar thought was so important that she would leave us..." Shadowstreak said, naturally wary of this newcomer, but wanting to kind and set a good example for Icekit. "So will you be assigning mentors now then?" she asked, allowing the others to voice their opinions before saying more.

[Sparrowpaw]

"Whisperstar's..... gone? Forever? " Ripplekit whimpered, her ears now flat against the back of her head. Her green eyes were filled with shock and sorrow.
"But.... why? Why didn't she even tell us? Why did she leave without even saying goodbye? Why'd she have to go so badly that she'd leave her clan behind?"
She bombarded the new leader with endless questions, as if getting all the answers would bring back Whisperstar.
