"I don't know She seemed a little weird before she left, didn't she?" Icekit replied her expression unreadable. Sadness swept through her Whisperstar had accepted her in to this new clan that she now called home she was going to apprentice Icekit and her friends, Icekit would always remember her. She looked at Lilystar,
"Do you know that we we're supposed to be apprenticed now? I mean I've been really excited and it seems that Whisperstar never got around to giving us mentors or our apprentice names, so could you please apprentice us?"

[ if i should die within this hour ]
Double could feel the very vibrations of the sheer confusion that was swelling profrusely around him, and had he been a mor eirritable creature, he would have hissed at the gathering to quieten their chattering; but he was a kind and noble creature, and knew very well how to keep his head. He tilted his crown, ears pricked, watcing and listening to the stranger and attempting to block out the background noise, with little success.
The tom understood that this must have been difficult for her, and watched in silence as she attempted to hush the cats and kittens. Her soft voice came as a pleasant change to the hustle and bustle, but the news which was mewed so gently did not. Whisperstar, gone? Double, though he had barely known her, hung his head in respect and sadness for the loss of such a noble ceature. Though she was still alive and well, he knew that it must have been a matter of great importance that must have driven her to leave so suddenly, and so he asked no questions on the subject. Things changed often, and one had to deal with this.
He was still somewhat concerned about where he stood in the Clan, and when he felt he had shown enough respect for the said dissapeared leader, he lifted his gaze once more and fixed it upon Lillystar. Sensing that he would need to speak louder to gain attention, he moved closer to her and spoke kindly. "Lillystar - my name is Double, but Whisperstar dubbed me Doubleheart. Unfortunatly, she left too quickly and I was never intregated into the Clan system. Is my place as a Warrior, or as an Apprentice?" Of course, he was dearly hoping the the word 'warrior' would be returned to him; he could not imagine the embaressment being an apprentice would cause him, after being raised straight from a land of warriors. But he was not an argumentative soul, and waited patiently for a reply.

Shadowstreak looked at Icekit with just as much confusion as the kit seemed to be feeling. She decided that she would try to help this new leader as best she could.
Lillystar listened to each remark, whether it was a complaint, question or a voiced fear.
"Young ones you are right, apprenticeships need to be made and mentors chosen!" Lillystar said enthusiastically. "Can all of you that are to be apprenticed come before me and tell me who you wanted as your mentors?" She waited for them to respond, knowing it was she who was supposed to choose, but deciding that just this once they could, to give them a little more comfort since so many changes had occured. I shall have to choose a deputy soon as well...so much comes after Starclan grants you your nine lives...I am glad I have them, because there is so much to be done...

Umberkit had said naught, brilliant and fierce yellow hues staring up at Lillystar. She was still bitterly wounded from her mother’s crushing blow, and what little strength she had regained was failing her once more.
…so out of all the kits ready to be apprenticed, she was the one to not move and come forward. Hopefully one of her friends would speak up and say something for the unusually silent kit.

Ripplekit looked over in disbelief at Icekit. Whisperstar had just left, and all she could think about was being apprenticed? Nevertheless, Ripplekit stepped forward. "Me, Rustpaw, Icekit, and Umberkit are all ready to be apprenticed. I don't know who I want my mentor to be, though," she told Lillystar. "Umberkit wishes to follow in the path of a medicine cat," she glanced over at the prone body of the golden-eyed black kit, "and Icekit and I, and I think Rustpaw, want to train under the warrior code." Done with her talk, she sat back and waited for the reply.

ooc :: Lillystar, I'd really appriciate it if you could actually acknowledge Double >.>' I'm not wasting my time writing posts to be ignored, and you've completely blanked him from the moment he arrived, even though he has addressed you directly twice. I don't mean to be rude but I'd say my posts so far have been detailed enough to deserve some form of reply.

So that was it. Whisperstar was gone. Trillium didn't give much of a response at her new leader's words, prefering to think them over once, and again. It seemed strange that Whisperstar wouldn't return, and even stranger that she, Trillium, had lost two clanmates in such a short time. Finally, the 'van rose to all four paws and looked up to Lilystar, "I welcome you, and I hope that you will lead our clan well,"
Quite the drab thing to say to a new leader, really, but her stressed mind could think of nothing that was any more meaningful. She waited, looking on at the apprenticeship ceremony that was about to unfold, and also awaited the answer to Doubleheart's question.
'I hope he becomes a warrior. He both looks and acts the part, to be sure,' she thought.

OOC: Okay...Double could you please relax...? I mean no offense, but I am really new to this position and only now getting used to the demands it has, so give me a little time okay XD The main concern at hand seemed to be to have these poor kits who have waited so long be apprenticed. I will address everyone, but I am trying to make this as believable as possible and the fact remains that Lillystar is brand new to her job and is only trying to take care of what seems most dire at the moment. Meaning no disrespect, just hang on...

Lillystar noticed that the announcement of being apprenticed seemed to fall on deaf ears, or ears that wished to hear something else. She surveyed the crowd of cats and sighed, wondering how on earth Whisperstar had thought they would accept her. She then realized that in her evaluation of possible apprentices, she had missed one older cat who had asked her a question. Taking a deep breath, she decided to address as many things as possible before continuing.
"Cats of Mistclan...I understand that all of this is very hard to accept..." she started. "Though I assure you it is no easier for me to accept this as my new role...the life of a leader is trying from day one...but I hope that I can be a leader you can be proud and fond of someday soon..." "Doubleheart, I will grant you the position of warrior after I make these kits apprenticed, for I fear if it is not done soon, they will be too old to be mentored!" she said, a slight lilt of humor to her voice. "As for everything else...I will see to everyone's needs as best I can...if anyone has any concerns or needs to talk to me, come and see me any time, even during moon high if there is the need." "Now please gather before the high rock so we can begin these ceremonies, then we can all have a rest...and you can yell some more questions at me if you must..." she said, looking weary. Then she ran to the high rock and leapt up to the top of it, waiting for the cats to assemble. "Please let us have this ceremony under the watchful eyes of our protectors in Starclan and may these new apprentices and this new warrior ceremony be a blessing to tie my leadership to this clan and to make a peaceful end to this day!" she called out.
Shadowstreak prodded Icekit forward and went to check on Umberkit and Ripplekit.
"Umberkit...can you make it to the high rock or shall I ask the leader to come to you?" she asked the injured kit, worried over the little one's welfare. While she waited for the answer she turned and called to the other cats, "I know its difficult to accept Whisperstar leaving us, but how's about we make this transition a little less painful and give the poor Lillystar a chance?" She gave a weak smile, hoping her clanmates would oblige. She knew many of them, Trillium, Icekit, and Ripplekit for instance...would have a hard time accepting this new leader, but she hoped for the good of the clan that they could learn to love her.

Rustpaw wasn't as energetic as he was when he'd first come across the leader, but he trotted silently after her, head hung low. He still was only /barely/ getting over the death of his beloved friend.. Honeymist. He'd grown fond of the she-cat, but he couldn't help but let his mind linger on the past. He hoped just as well for this new leader, and was almost too sure of himself that she'd pull them out of this rut in the tree. He looked up finally as he approached the rock, motioning for the other kits to follow him.
He loved to guide them. He was hardly bigger than them himself, and hardly older. But he felt like the leader of the group almost, but also the farthest one in closeness to the other two kits. He looked up anxiously at the leader. His upset demeanor was beginning to fade as he realized.. He was /finally/ going to be apprenticed! Excitement flourished through his body.. His paws, tail, ears.. The excitement showed like lights in his excitement. He couldn't wait.

Lillystar looked to the body of the fallen warrior Honeymist. I shall have to have her buried as soon as the ceremonies are over...they've had time to mourn, so its not right for her body to remain out much longer...it would be disrespectful to her...

ooc ::i am relaxed :B i was also relaxed the first two times i posted X3 i completely understand that the kits need apprenticing but that leaves no need to completely ignore everyone else.
[ if i should die within this hour ]
Thankfully, she decided to answer him shortly thereafter, and it was with some relief that a smile teased his lips and he bowed his head in respect. Free now of all doubts that he would have been humiliated as an apprentice, Double gazed around him at the gathering.
Therewere quite a few cats; and alot of kittens; but still, not quite as many as he had expected. His double-coloured eyes landed upon the body of a fallen warrior and he raised his eyebrows in surprise before bowing his head once more, in respect for the poor creature, who had lost their life in the line of duty. That was how Double wished to die.
It sounded odd, but it made sense. The noble tom had been raised from a Clan of warriors alone and so, a hero's death was the only death that awaited him. Any other would be a disgrace to his parents, to what he had been taught.
Raising once more, he looked over to the kits and almost felt their excitement himself, as if it were sending quakes through the ground. He grinned at the small group and swayed his tail along with them, almost acting like one of the kits. He enjoyed spending time with little ones, making them laugh and smile, teaching them things in a less harsh way than others might. A thought nagged at his mind; would Lillystar perhaps need an extra mentor? Would Doubleheart have a chance to shine? Only time would tell.
Patiently, and with a kindly smile, Double waiting for the moment that all the kits had wished for.

Ripplekit followed Rustpaw up onto the rock, and peered over the edge of it. It was rather far from the ground, she noted, then quietly laughed at herself. Of course it was high above the ground! It was the High Rock! She then looked over at the warriors down there. Who would be her mentor? Trillium? The odd-eyed tom? The bizarre she-cat? She silently pondered over it, and gave up, since it would by Lillystar's choice, anyway.

Icekit walked up to her leader, "Um, if you don't mind I'd like Shadowstreak to be my mentor if thats okay with you."
She looked happily into the leaders eyes and then glanced at the cats in Mistclan: Ripplekit, her very first friend, Umberkit, who heard the whispers, Rustpaw, the oldest of the apprentices, Trillium, the first warrior she met, Double, with eyes she had never seen before, Her new leader Lillystar, and Her soon-to-be mentor, Shadowstreak. She felt a shiver run through her spine as she realized this was her last night of being Icekit, after tonight if all went well she would be known as Icepaw. Icekit shook her head and looked at her new leader for a reply.

The silent black she-kit remained still, yellow hues moving from cat to cat. They fell lastly upon the fallen Honeymist, and the ebon-pelted fae shivered.
“Starclan sings a song of sadness…will we be taken by fear or madness?”
Her voice was soft, but far more mature than it should be. The kit blinked, weary, and shakily rose to her paws.
“I can make it myself.”
Limping painfully, yet with sheer determination, Umberkit padded without another word to join her friends.

OOC: I know each kit is supposed to be named, then have their head touched and lick the leader's shoulder in thanks, but that would take a really long time. So I'll do all of them in one post and each kit and then Double can reply back individually! I'll include the question and conclusion for Lillystar and everyone can just provide the, "Yes I will!" for themselves. ^^
Lillystar stood at the center of the highrock and let each cat approach her as their name was called to receive their honors.
"Icekit!" she called and waited for the kit to come forward. "You have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprenticed!" "Do you promise to listen to your mentor and learn the ways of a warrior to serve your clan?" (kit's answer in their post after this bit) "Then I proclaim you from this moment on as Icepaw and your mentor shall be Shadowstreak!" "Shadowstreak do you promise to honor the warrior code and teach your apprentice everything they need to know to be a warrior?" (Mentors answer after this bit)
"Ripplekit!" she called and waited for the kit to come forward. "You have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprenticed!" "Do you promise to listen to your mentor and learn the ways of a warrior to serve your clan?" (kit's answer in their post after this bit) "Then I proclaim you from this moment on as Ripplepaw and your mentor shall be Trillium!" "Trillium do you promise to honor the warrior code and teach your apprentice everything they need to know to be a warrior?" (Mentors answer after this bit)
"Umberkit!" she called and waited for the kit to come forward. "You have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprenticed!" "Do you promise to listen to your mentor and learn the ways of a medicine cat to serve your clan?" (kit's answer in their post after this bit) "Then I proclaim you from this moment on as Umberpaw and your mentor shall be Silverthroat!" "Silverthroat do you promise to honor the warrior code and teach your apprentice everything they need to know to be a medicine cat?" (Mentors answer after this bit)
"Rustpaw!" she called and waited for the kit to come forward. "You have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprenticed!" "Do you promise to listen to your mentor and learn the ways of a warrior to serve your clan?" (kit's answer in their post after this bit) "Then I proclaim you are still as Rustpaw and your mentor shall be...myself!" "I am rather interested in you, young tom and I promise to honor the warrior code and teach you everything you need to know to be a warrior"
"Doubleheart!" she called finally. "You are an experienced cat and a great asset to this clan!" "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and serve your clan until you return to Starclan with our warrior ancestors?" (Double can answer here in their post) "Then I proclaim you forever more as Doubleheart, warrior of Mistclan!" Finally finished, Lillystar breathed a sigh of relief.

Shadowstreak looked up excitedly as she was finally named Icekit...no Icepaw's mentor. They could finally start training and going on patrols together!
"Yes, I promise to teach her everything and follow the code, thank you so much Lillystar!" she called, barely able to contain herself.

Ripplekit was now shaking with excitement as she walked over to the leader to hear what she had to say. "....and learn the ways of a warrior to serve your clan?" "Yes.... Yes, I do!" Ripplekit exclaimed. And then she became Ripplepaw, apprentice of Trillium. Unsure of what to do, she simply bowed awkwardly to Lillystar, and bounded off the High Rock and over to Trillium, her mentor.

The kit almost fell over on the side of his rump as she announced that /she/ was going to be his mentor! I accept your offer, and bid that I be one of the finest Warriors Mistclan has ever seen! And with that, He scrambled up the rock, his claws digging in to the stone and making loud scratching noises. He mewed in greeting when he finally reached the top, slipping but finally making his way under the leader. He bowed his head in respect before rearing up on his hindlegs and licked the top of Lillystar's shoulder before turning and leaping down to the ground with a grunt and a furl of dust, and he sat back to watch the rest of the apprenticeship commence.

Icekit bounced forward up to her leader. All she could her was the leaders voice. Trembling her voice rang out in the cavern,
"I do."
When her leader gave her name She couldn't help running down the rock and skidding to a stop to touch noses with her mentor, Shadowstreak!
"Icepaw, I like it Icepaw... "
