Name:
Meloy (meh-loy)
Gender:
Male
Breed of Cat:
tortoiseshell maine coon
Age:
4 years
Description:
Meloy is particularly sleek, yet rather strong with a large muscle build. He is rather padded out with a set of long, tortoiseshell marked fur. He is stealthy as opposed to strong. His eyes are a vivid yellow - atleast, one of them is. Ironically, his right eye is completely blind, and so appears white - with three scars falling across it. I say ironically, as compared to Bane he is identical in this sense, yet it being his right eye as opposed to Bane's left. But this goes for a reason. Many other scars cover his body, proving his worth as a decent fighter.
Personality:
Meloy is very much solitary, a non-speaker as such. He is content with living in his own private world, and not letting any others into it. He wasn't always like this, yet history has made it so. Once you break that outer shell, however, you will find he is secretly rather friendly, if you prove your worth to him. Loyal, definitely, but he rarely gives his trust or respect to many. Can often come across as grumpy, sometimes arrogant, but this is just a look he puts on to keep others thinking he is unapproachable.
History:
This is where it gets interesting. Meloy was born a normal stray kitten, living life tough on the streets, attempting to get by. His family was one of two stray clans on the streets, both of which were rivalled. One was named BloodClan, the other DeathClan. Meloy was of the DeathClan, his mother and father being the humble leaders. BloodClan was of course, the clan of Scourge. Heirs of BloodClan at the time were Scourge's two kits, Bane and Dawn. They were of similar age to Meloy, yet Meloy had been unable to ever set eyes on either.
Until that day, when DeathClan planned a raid against BloodClan. Meloy was of age then, and his father approved him joining in. The raid went successful - BloodClan were devastated. As Meloy ran through Bloodclan territory, it was then that he saw her - Dawn, oh so sleek and beautiful, as she looked down at the raid in horror. Meloy was tempted to help her escape, yet the she-cat was soon whisked away by he could only assume was her brother, Bane - larger than her, yet identical in colour and posture. Meloy was forced to put her out of his mind, yet he couldn't stop thinking about her.
He couldn't get her out of his mind, however, and that night, snuck away from his father's watchful eye to try and meet her. Meet they did, for she was running from Bloodclan territory similarly. The two got along like a duck to water - Meloy promised to run away with her one day, despite Dawn's brother's and father's disapproval of such a thing. And run away they did - they mated, and lived in the far suburbs of the city.
Things didn't last, as Dawn's brother soon found out where Dawn had gone to. Bane had set out with a few of the other young assassins to search them out, and kill both of them for betrayal to their clans. It wasn't until Meloy returned from hunting that he found their kits within a pool of blood and guts - and Dawn, fearlessly facing her brother and the other merciless assassins. Meloy and Dawn ran side by side, yet Dawn was not so fast as Meloy - her own brother had dragged her down - Meloy turned back to help her, yet before he could, Dawn's body was limp as Bane's jaws were moist with her warm blood.
How Meloy wished to stay by her side, but Bane was quick to turn his attention onto Meloy, the one who had caused his once loyal sister to turn against the two clans. Bane struck the tom across the face, his claws raking along his eye. The initial shock stunned Meloy for a while, but after a few moments he was quick to respond similarly - a similar attack across Bane's face, and leaving no time to see how Bane had reacted. He ran, and outran them all by far. Yet he heard Bane's words cry after him - words of revenge, of hatred and of death. Meloy ran and ran that night, until the city was far behind him, until his paws bled and his heart was near to collapsing. In the middle of the forest his body fell, and there he wept, wept a million tears for the love he'd lost, and the shame he had brought upon his family.
It was then that Meloy made his own oath. He swore that he would take vengeance against Bane, for killing the one thing that had meant anything to Meloy. To this day, Meloy has lived in the forest, fearful of returning to the city, and uncertain he would come across any other cats within the forest. But it was about time he did something to avenge Dawn's death, and maybe today is just the right day to begin.
Anything Else:
Meloy is named after the lead singer of my favourite band, The Decemberists, who's name is Colin Meloy. His history is also based off of the song "O, Valencia!" Check them out! www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=3530822107858618276 lyrics are there.
I'll need to revamp Bane's history to go along with this plot xD It's al lvery Romeo and Juliet style. A bit soppy, but I love Romeo and Juliet so mneh x3
