x.Name.x Emptyskies
x.Gender.x She-cat
x.Age.x Fifty-six moons

x.Physical Description.x Smaller than average, Emptyskies is often mistaken for a cat younger than she really is. She is quite lean yet still nicely muscled, never speanding an idle moment when there is something to be done. This activity, and her almost continuous training, keeps her in grand shape. Her pelt is pure ebony in hue, without so much as a touch of another color save for the white fun grown over her scars.
Life has been hard on Emptyskies, and it shows. In her fights she has earned many a scar, most of which are hidden by her fur. The most obvious one, however, is the long scar that marks the right side of her face, damaging her eye so badly that she lost the sight in it.
x.Personality.x Emptyskies isn't a cat of many words. She has such a commanding presence that half of the time she doesn't need them. As for the other half of the time, well, all she has to say is 'jump', and the response will be 'How high, and what song would you like me to hum while doing it?'. She can be physically intimidating or almost invisible, depending on her mood. Even so, other cats tend to tread lightly around her. Despite all of this outer coarseness, Emptyskies can be quite a gentle soul. She tends not to fight unless provoked. Yet when she is on the job, she takes her missions quite seriously, and will stop at nothing to see them accomplished. A trained fighter, Emptyskies is confident in her skills, but not to the point of being overconfident. In her life, she has pretty much seen and done it all. This has left her with an almost cynical, morbid outlook on life. She isn't afraid to tell it like it is.
Ideally, she'd like the youth of today to live a better, more carefree life than she had; but she doesn't advocate living in a bubble-world, ignorant or unaware of society or problems. Hardships and pitfalls are also a learning experience in her book. No good ever came out of dwelling on past regrets, or glossing them over completely.
x.History.x Emptyskies was born to a clan of cats far to the east of the four clans known as Streamclan.
Warriors from the east flooded into the clan’s territory, speaking of a huge black tom name Shatterfate who was destroying entire clans. Streamclan begun to prepare for such a conflict – fiercely defending the borders and awaiting the worst.
Originally being trained to be an elite warrior in the clan, Emptyskies was, at thirty-four moons, being groomed for a high-ranking position in the ranks. It all came to an end when she refused to mate with the clan leader’s son. She quickly fell out of favor with the heads of the clan. Her future seemed bleak until she was recruited by a gray and brown tom named Voidsong to assist him on the journey to destroy Shatterfate. Voidsong himself was a bit of an outcast in the eyes of the clan for his odd ideas and unusual way of thinking.
Emptyskies became fiercely loyal to Voidsong, even going so far as to call him 'my lord'. Before the pair left on their journey, they picked up the prisoner Streamclan took from a clan known as Dustclan, a large tannish tom named Deadlysilence. She didn't trust the tom, but Voidsong helped to convince her with the thought that it'd be entirely too amusing if the three of them; outcasts of the clan, defeated Shatterfate.
Emptyskies was the straight cat to Deadlysilence's antics and Voidsong's calm patience. She was always thinking of her duty. Although she was always reprimanding Deadlysilence for his less-than-honorable behavior as a warrior, Emptyskies still came to trust him over the course of the journey, and even regard him as a dear friend.
Upon reaching the beginning of Shatterfate’s territory, the trio is met by Dreamdance, a old ex-medicine cat who knew the means to defeating the monstrous tom.. They learn of the 'catch' to defeating Shatterfate - one of the cats must be sacrificed to give the others time to strike. Deadlysilence volunteered, having realized over the course of the journey that he'd never get back to 'his' old clan, Treeclan, and makes Emptyskies swear to somehow get back and look after his son, Afterlife. Emptyskies accepts.
Both Deadlysilence and Voidsong are sacrificed to defeat Shatterfate, and here Emptyskies learns the ultimate truth. Shatterfate can never truly be defeated; his legacy of hate and pain in the war torn land will forever live on. No cat can hope to restore the clan to their once peaceful life; meaning Voidsong and Deadlysilence both died in vain. Emptyskies's youthful idealism and faith are shattered beyond repair. Enraged, she attacked Dreamdance, who strikes her down easily, leaving her near-mortally wounded. Little more than devotion to her dead friends kept her alive as she literally drug herself down to the ocean.
Many moons past before she heals, and the scarred she-cat begun her journey to find Treeclan, and uphold the promise she had made to Deadlysilence.
