"What. Dreams. Should. I .Have?"
Bloodbath is an assassin who performs black ops-style activities for anyone who can afford his services. He is an amazingly competent, utterly lethal tom who is unbelievably hard to kill. He knows that he is good-looking, and has no problem in using his attractiveness to his advantages. It is thought that he may lack a sense of long-time loyalty and duty, but that is simply because he is smart, and tends to always act either in his own best interest, or in that of his client of the moment.
The bottom line is that Bloodbath is a tough tom; truly so, instead of being all bluster and bravado. He does not need to prove himself to the general populace; and tends to be the cat in the back of the area, quietly keeping to himself while the brawl between loudmouths is going on in the front. He’s the cat who, when the brawler staggers up to him and starts trying to egg him into a fight, says, “Look, I’m not in the mood. I’m not going to fight you. I’m going to kill you. I don’t mess around.” He’s the cat who says it with such quiet assurance, paws before him in plain sight, that everyone knows he’s perfectly serious, and perfectly capable, and the brawler backs away and looks for another cat to pick a fight with, maybe even in a different place.
The fact is that Bloodbath makes a clear distinction between work and pleasure, perhaps as a means of ensuring his own sanity. In any case, he's seen some ugly things, he does his own fair share of ugly things—but not while he’s off the clock.
This would lead some to believe that he has a selective sense of morality, and, selectively, they would be right. As much as any assassin can, he has a definite sense of what is right and what is wrong; whether he adheres to his own morals is harder to say. Part of being an assassin, one of those various entities whose home teeters on the edge of the legal and the outlawed, is being flexible; a tom has to be versatile, he has to be able to do what is demanded of him by his environment, and to do it well. Sometimes these things are disreputable, sometimes they’re just wrong. His morals are quiet morals, the kind that hang back and watch him live in his own scattered, haphazard and messy way, compassionately refusing to butt in and make things difficult for him.
In other words, there are a scant handful of things that Bloodbath will not do, no matter how much he is offered. He’s a solitary sort of tom, an introspective type who is just as comfortable spending long periods of time alone as in the company of others—maybe even more so, but that would be a bit of a stretch. Part of the reason he’s developed such a thick, reserved skin has to do with the fact that he has to hide himself, effectively, from the world. The issue is complicated also by the fact that he has essentially two identities: the one he shows to the public eye, and the real Bloodbath- assassin, capable, level-headed, ostensibly feline.
Strangely enough, he can be companionable from time to time, but he is always hesitant to talk about himself if asked more than where he is from, and what his name is. It's not an overly obvious hesitancy that he has, but rather one that is harder to notice and call him out on. He's one of those cats who is very easy to talk to, and who knows how to manipulate conversations to flow the way he wishes them to without seeming too forward.
He doesn’t answer personal questions, but subtly brushes them aside as much as he can, and does a lot to keep the focus of a conversation on the other feline. There are many reasons for his solitude other than the obvious- his hesitation to shy away from commitment, the double-identity issue, he has a strong attachment to doing whatever he wants, when he wants. He likes to be able to leave at a moment's notice, should he decide to, to pick any spot, and theoretically, to be able to go there without notifying anyone, without worrying about any relationships he would be leaving behind.
It's cleaner and simpler that way; and he would never have it any other way.
