Individuality
"My vocabulary is much larger than yours, you fatuous, heedless bedlamite!"
Indeed, Widow has a very large vocabulary. She knows words that many of the most intelligent warriors do not, and uses them in her everyday language - half knowing that it will confuse them. This amuses her to no end. If a cat starts to get on her nerves, she will point out or remind them that she's 'smarter'.
She's not really.
Actually, the 'fatuous' rogue is slightly clueless. But she's quite agressive. She can laugh at herself when she makes mistakes...or a fool of herself. Widow has a hot temper; she's extremely quick to anger. She is offended very easily, and when another cat says 'they have to go'...or they make some excuse to leave just because they're downright frightened of her...she swears to get revenge on them, but forgets in about five minutes.
Widow's a flirt. She loves the toms, and used to have a tendancy to sleep around. Usually she finds that toms who aren't jumpy or nervous, but the tough ones, like her back, but when they are jumpy or nervous, and they run away from her, she just refers to them as 'that wimp' when telling her friends of this tom.
(Oh yeah, and 'fatuous' means 'silly'.)
Ancient Times
Once upon a time there was a beautiful golden tabby queen. Her eyes were the colour of the setting sun, a bright and firey orange. She came from a Clan far, far away from the Valley - where SandClan, OceanClan, CaveClan, and TideClan dwelled. She was of CaveClan. She was young, and she had a mate - though they were expecting no kits yet.
Her name was Flaxengold.
Her mate, a dark blue tabby with light blue eyes, was Cobaltheart.
Cobaltheart was quite a few moons older than Flaxengold, but they were in love; wasn't that all that mattered? Each night they slept close together; Flaxengold quite enjoyed his company. But she met a rogue, called Glee. While Cobaltheart was often very guarded about his past and did not open up to many, Glee was very open. He talked about everything - even the most awkward things for Flaxengold, such as sex and greed - like they were, 'Want to go hunting today?'
She grew to like him, unfortunately for Cobaltheart.
He caught her one day sneaking a mouse off the fresh-kill pile out into the forest. "Where are you going?" he asked her. "Nowhere," she replied as casually as she could. It wasn't casual enough. He asked her if he could come, and - knowing that if she refused, she would seem suspicious - she took him with her, quite grudgingly. She led him to a corner of CaveClan's territory, a cliff with a single large willow tree. The waves crashed onto the rocks below. It was then Cobaltheart noticed that Flaxengold's belly had been growing.
Under the tree a black tom with a white tailtip and a white dash on his chest waited. His bright yellow eyes widened, then narrowed when he saw Cobaltheart. "Who's this?" the black tom asked. Flaxengold shuffled her paws, glancing from Cobaltheart to Glee to her shifting paws. Cobaltheart realized what was going on: Flaxengold had another mate, outside of the Clan. And she was pregnant with his kits! He immediately fled, not casting another glance her way. All he could think was, 'How could she do this to me? I thought she loved me! We announced it in front of our parents!' She had told him she loved him, each night before they fell asleep and each morning before they said anything else. They had been in love.
After Cobaltheart had fled, Flaxengold could not bring herself to go back to CaveClan - besides, what would they think when she had her kits and there was no father? They would know that a rogue had sired them. And if she wasn't banished, who would raise them with her? She wanted no other tom but Glee to help her bring them up. After a few moons, three kits were born - two toms and a she-cat. The firstborn was black with a white tailtip and a white dash on his chest, like his father Glee. His eyes were bright orange, like his mother Flaxengold's. They agreed on the name Jump for him. The second was a dusty-gold tabby with bright yellow eyes. He was Tag. And the last was our dearest Widow, a dusty-brown tabby with her mom's bright eyes. They raised them under that tree, as patrols barely came there, and when they did, they didn't bother to really check for anything.
Jump, Tag, and Widow were raised as any rogue kits were. Jump lived up to his name - he was a bouncy kit, and loved to run around and catch butterflies and mice. (He didn't really catch the butterflies, he just chased them around till he spotted something else moving.)
Tag was more calm. He liked to just lay under the willow tree and enjoy life, while Widow was a fiery and agressive kit. Glee tried to calm her down, once, but it didn't work out very well. He ended up with a tiny scratch on his nose. After that, he didn't try again, and Flaxendusk just tried to subtley influence her daughter.
These influences didn't work. Widow became more and more agressive. By the time she was six moons old, she was leaving scars on her brothers from their 'play' fights. When she was nine moons old, Glee asked her and her brothers if they wanted to leave; find homes for themselves. Jump and Widow quickly agreed, but Tag was more reluctant to leave the place he'd grown up in. Flaxendusk allowed him to stay; he would not be a danger to any future kits she would have.
Widow and Jump immediately went their separate ways. She didn't want to spend any more time with her brother. A few moons later, when she was just over a year old, she met a much older tom. He was even more agressive than her, and he mated with her - half against her will, but half with her permission. He left her the next morning, and Widow was left wondering frantically if she was going to become pregnant. Fortunately she was not pregnant.
But she found she liked what had happened and mated with many toms, just barely escaping pregnancy. But she suddenly realized how much having kits would affect her: she stopped mating with so many toms. But she is still agressive, and will go after any tom.
