The cream and red Turkish Van tom wandered through the thick mists, flame colored tail shining like a beacon, and his thick cream fur keeping the chill of the mist from seeping into his bones. He opened his mouth to scent for any other cats, Clan or otherwise, wandering around as he was, and found non. He had been carefully picked his way through the mists for some time now, searching for any sign of another cat. He wished to join this clan, having tired of his lonley time as a rouge cat and wished agagin for the company of other cats.
He bent his cream colored head to smell the ground, firey brown eyes scaning the mists and seeing nothing. He smelled the enticing scent of prey, but didn't dare hunt in a Clans territory that was not his own, no matter how his belly ached with hunger and his mouth watered. He raised his head and kneeded the ground with his paws in slight impatience, wishing that someone of this Clan would notice him and come soon.
He had thought this through, what he would say once he did meet a clan cat. Water run through his bloods, since his grandfather had been a member of the old Riverclan, so he was well suited to Mistclans ways. He was much to old to become and apprentice, being over 25 moons old. He hoped to go straight to warrior status if he was accepted, since he hadn't thought of any other fate for him if he was allowed in the clan. The ambitious part of him even hoped to make it to deputy, but the rational part quickly brought him back to his sences.

Lillystar padded along the river, stepping lightly over the smooth stones. Leaf fall had brought a chill to them and she leapt quickly across them so her pads would not have time to absorb the cold. A thin layer of frost always covered the grass now, only melting when the sun reached its highest point in the sky. The low-hanging river mist only added to the icy feeling, and her very bones ached for a warmth. Once she was through with this patrol she would be able to return to her den, and enjoy a rest in the warmth of the moss and leaf litter. For now though, she was dutifully patrolling her clan's boundaries, making sure no strangers disturbed their peace. She would have to send Battledream; her deputy, out later with some of the younger warriors. They needed a good, long patrol to test their stamina.
As she walked, considering what she would accomplish today, she stumbled upon some tracks. They were the paw prints of a cat, and a tom by the scent of him. Steeling herself in case of a confrontation, Lillystar raced to the end of the trail and came to a stop in front of the stranger. She relaxed her posture and spoke evenly.
"Tom, what purpose do you have on the borders of my territory?" she asked, liquid-gold eyes flashing with interest.

The tom looked up at the she-cat as she spoke, his ears flicking in her direction to better hear her question. He answered it honestly, since he saw no reason to lie.
"I wish to join you clan, if you will have me. I have lived as a rouge for some moons now, a time that some may consider unusually long, but i've tired of that sort of life and now wish to join a clan. And seeing as my ancestory lies with Riverclan, i have sought Mistclan out." He said, sitting down and wrapping his fluffy tail around his paws to keep the chill of the mist off of them.
He studied the she-cat with a nonjudgmental golden-brown eyes. 'She must be the clans leader.' he thought as he looked over her proud and confident posture.

Yet another young rogue wanting to join her clan. Where ever was she going to put them all? Sighing earnestly, Lillystar leveled her eyes with the young tom's.
"Do you have any experience as a warrior?" she asked. "We have many cats in this clan and everyone needs to pull their own weight."
Tensely, she waited for his answer. MistClan's terrtitory was only so large and they had a huge family already. If this continued, Lillystar would have to start digging and exploring deeper into their cave to find room for all of the new arrivals...

The tom sat calmly, ears pricked towards the she-cat as she spoke, tailing slowly wagging back in forth in a relaxed way.
"My only experience is what the life of a rouge has taught me. I have some fighting and hunting skills, for I’ve had to fend for myself, but i don't know if they would be up to your standards." he said, not being one to boast about his skills.
He idly wondered how old this clan leader was, if he was infact older then she. It really wouldn't matter any, it was simply something for him to wonder about.

Lillystar looked over the tom, evaluating his size and posture. She made a quiet noise in the back of her throat, not quite a purr, but enough to say that she was satisfied.
"I suppose we'll just have to see then...follow me," she said, turning and sweeping her tail across his ears, a gesture that meant to come her way.

The tom followed quickly after the she-cat, flicking his ears as she brushed his tail against them. He made sure to keep up but never run ahead of her, keeping his muzzel level with her shoulder, giving her plenty of room to move.
"May i ask your name?" he said, saving his own for if she asked. No use giving her information she wasn't interested in.

The she-cat chuckled to herself a little. This tom was very eager to please, she could tell.
"My name is Lillystar, leader of MistClan," she mewed. "What is yours?"
All the while she kept walking back along the river, toward the waterfall. She hadn't yet told him that the camp was behind it, but it would be one of his tests...if he could brave the rushing water to enter the camp. Every single one her clanmates had, otherwise they would not be here.

"I am called Flametail." The tom replied, "It is an honor to meet you."
He said that now, knowing who she was, in another attempt not to offend. Better to be overly cautious then not cautious enough, especially when meeting new cats that he suspected held high rank. The last thing he wished was to offend Lilystar and get himself kicked out of Mistclan even before he was accepted into it. Suddenly, his ears flicked forward, twoards the direction they were heading. The defening roar of the waterfall was steadily getting louder as they walked on, and he knew that they must be heading for it, but decided to be sure.
"Are we heading for the waterfall?" he asked Lilystar.

Yes, he was indeed trying to please her. It was sort of annoying, but flattering as well.
"Yes, that's where camp is located, behind the waterfall..." she meowed. "If you can't make the twisting turns around it, you'll have to go through it."
A slight chuckle escaped her maw. This, she thought, would be fun to watch.
