It wasn't that Sinisterpaw was ungrateful for Amberstar taking her into Treeclan. It wasn’t that she was a moody, angsty little ass…well, that was partly it. But no, Sinisterpaw had some things on her mind lately, and that caused her to not exactly pay the most attention to her elders and her superiors. You see, she wanted to get out of Treeclan, see what was past these borders.
“There’s too many trees in this place,” she snarled as she came up to the river. Sinisterpaw hopped over the edge, where the water came up to her belly. “It would be nice to just be in an open field for once in my damn life.” She leaped out of the river and shook herself off somewhat aggressively, as if the water drops on her fur were drops of poison.
With a frustrated sigh, Sinisterpaw took a running start and scaled the nearest tree. Climbing into camp so many times had given her strong limbs and sharp claws. “I hate this place!” she yowled angrily, then hopped down the branches until she could safely jump to the ground. So boring.

Leopardnose was wandering Treeclan's land when she spotted Sinisterpaw. She called out a greeting to her and leaped over. With a twitch of her tail she meowed, It's not so bad here. She liked to trees, they offered her protection and every branch seemed to reach out to her in a friendly way, but some cats, Leopardnose knew, that the branches might seem to be reaching out to harm. Once in a while though, Leopardnose did wish for a little more sun and less shade.

One of Sinisterpaw's aforementioned elders was high up in the trees, draped over a branch like a miniature black leopard, half asleep in the sun. It was a good day for sleeping in the trees, and in the winter, you could get some good sun up in the treetops.
But, alas, her peace was not to last. First she heard Sinisterpaw, ranting about Treeclan. As Onyx had occasionally thought the same- too many trees, not enough fields- she did love the forest. It was home, anyway, and safe. But she was just gonna let Sinisterpaw get it out of her system.
Then, of course, another cat appeared. Onyx opened her eyes and raised her head, looking down through the branches to the ground. Leopardnose. The little black she-cat yawned and stood, rolling her eyes. So much for peace and quiet. She bounded down a couple branches as quiet as a falling leaf, and then paused, looking down at the two cats. In all their time here, had they learned to look up? She supposed she'd find out soon enough.

Sinisterpaw heard another cat calling her name and turned to see Leopardnose. “How can you stand being under a tree every second of every day?” she sighed, half curious, half complaint.
In the corner of her eye she saw a shadow moving; Sinisterpaw assumed it was the shadow of the branches moving in the wind but by reflex she glanced over anyways. “Onyxdart,” she mewed after a bit of squinting to indentify the cat.
She kept padding back towards the camp, the annoying little brat she could be. The leaves breaking the light of the sun suddenly bugged her more than ever and she clawed at the ground with every step.

Ah, well, someone had learned to pay attention to the trees above her. Onyx grinned and dropped down next to the younger she-cat. It was her mission lately to make friends beyond the leader and deputy, although she'd seen Blackheart heading to the old training grounds earlier, and was tempted to follow, for old times' sake.
"Sinisterpaw," Onyx said by way of greeting, and flicked her tail at Leopardnose. Sinisterpaw seemed to be irritated. Of course, it wouldn't take a genius to figure that out. She was ripping up leaves with every step.
"You could go to the clearing. No trees there, just grass and sun," Onyx ventured, falling into step alongside the other cat.

Hey Onyx, how's it been? She wanted to cover up the fact that she didn't notice Onyx until she came out of the trees, it embarrassed her. When Onyx mentioned the clearing, it put her in a daze. That place was so warm when the sun hits, it made her sleepy. It's very nice there and it's very warmShe mewed lazily and yawned too.
((Sorry it's short))

The little black she-cat turned to Leopardnose, walking with her shoulder in so she could turn to see the other cat.
"It's been quiet. Not that I'm complaining. You?" she asked politely. She was thinking about going back to camp and finding a place to nap. Then again, it probably wasn't any quieter in camp than it would be out here. And it was usually quiet out towards this part of the territory, just because Treeclan wasn't big into swimming. That'd be Mistclan. Onyx privately thought them all a little crazed.

When Onyxdart suggested the clearing, Sinisterpaw grumbled. She walked beside the she-cat, the two almost the same size even though one was considerably younger. “But eventually I’ll need to come back and live in the trees again,” she responded. “I do like this clan, I have no complaints about the cats. And our fighting techniques are obviously the best out there. But…ah, I dunno. I’m being an idiot, I guess.” The apprentice sighed and slowed from her brisk trot to a leisurely walk.
She was surprised at herself for admitting that she was being stupid; normally she was much more arrogant that this. Sinisterpaw stopped and flopped onto her side suddenly, looking up at Onyxdart with one eye closed. At least the damn trees provided shade; her eyes weren’t blinded. With a sigh, she closed the other and tried to keep from drifting off. “I guess I just wonder…” Sinisterpaw mewed and took a deep breath in.

The black she-cat turned and looked at Sinisterpaw as the cat flopped down on the ground quite unexpectedly. For a moment Onyx was concerned something was wrong, before it occured to her that Sinisterpaw was still young, and of course young cats did random things like flop over sideways in the middle of walking. She grinned absently. What strange things had she done when she was that age? She distinctly remembered doing her fair share of disappearing up trees.
"I came from open space. The day I joined the clan, a hawk chased me clear into the trees and nearly caught me," she said. And it was hawks that kept the little cat happy to be in amongst the trees. It was hard for them, with their broad wings, to fly in the trees. There were no falcons around big enough to threaten her, at least, and she had never yet met an owl that wanted to tangle with her. Just big hawks, and that had been awhile.

"Same, it's been quiet after the war." Leopardnose sighd, it was good the it was quiet but nothing was happening. She turned back her attention to Sinisterpaw and listened to her. "Well that could be a problem." She twitched her tail with impatience, she hated the fact that there was a problem that needed work with, it was very frustrating to her. Maybe she just needs to get out of the trees for a little bit, like leave Treeclan for a moon. She didn't mention this though, she might if this really frustrated Sinisterpaw, but she didn't think that was necessary.
