The ragged gray tom swished his head as he lay wait on the borders of StoneClan. His tail-tip flicked as he waited, eyes blinking slowly. The lands of StoneClan were more desoplate than he expected, filled with more snow and rock than the trees that he had heard of. This was a long wait. He narrowed bright amber eyes and mewed to the rocks, " How do you live, waiting for all this time?"

Patience is a virtue, tom. Life doesn't reward those who hurry Said a voice just behind him. The speaker was a she-cat, lithe and rather small. Not only did her dark coloring blend into her surroundings well, her build seemed made for the rugged terrain and cold weather, despite her short fur. Her eyes held a certain sharp cleverness to them, almost wise and thoughtful, though not necessarily unkind.
Tell me, tom, what brings you around my territories? Few come around here, especially in this weather She remarked passively, her slender tail resting on her paws from where she sat on a rock just above the newcomer.

Starline's pelt bristled in surprise as he spun around to see a small shecat infront of him. " I want to join a clan, for in this weather it would be hard for me to survive. And also because I am a lone, and feel a clan is the right place for me," He added the last part on hastily, but he did not know why. He bowed his head, as he knew he should do.
