Ah, spring. Spring made little kits crazy. It made Featherkit want to chase things, or maybe jump off things, or... or who knew. The kit looked around for her siblings, or for one of the older kits- one of Snowstar and Dragonpelt's kits, who her mom had told her were born just awhile before Featherkit and her siblings.
For awhile, she went and bothered her mom, who was trying to sleep. Then she chased some dead grass, and leapt about like a crazed rabbit, boxing with fuzzballs from something that was blooming early. She really wanted to be in the nursing den where it was warm, but Pinedark had routed all of her own kits out when one of the other she-cats looked like she might need some peace and quiet. Maybe there'd be more kits to cause havoc soon. Featherkit kind of hope so.
But she was still bored. And, shortly, she was to be seen prowling around the camp, just looking for trouble to cause.

Ah, but the little she-cat was not alone, as she danced and frolicked about the camp. Against the midnight sky, the moon a thick crescent hung and silver, another black figure stood upon the slab of a rock. It wasn't a very big rock, nor was it very tall. The figure upon it... Well, he wasn't very big either. He growled lowly, his highlighter green eyes glinting like miniature lanterns, narrowing demonically. Then..
Gyah! He caterwauled, letting the noise ring around the camp loudly, before attempting to tackle Featherkit to the floor. Whether or not he made it, he was still sent tumbling and rolling with an 'oof' and a 'bah' along the clearing, kicking up dust in his wake. Finally, he stopped rolling, sprawled in a daze on the floor, his limbs hither and thither. The reason? A young she-cat lay near the nursery, watching with mild curiosity as her sister dashed about in a delighted manner. Still, Rowdykit couldn't look like he was a wuss, in front of Flightkit! He got to his feet, puffing out his chest, and strutted stiff-legged over to Featherkit, sneering playfully. Being of the older litter [but not much bigger], he often found himself entitled to being a bully, though really he was trying to be a show-off for the girls. But Featherkit wasn't a girl! She certainly didn't act very lady-like, frolicking about.
Hah! Didja see that? Didja see that? I'm so good He preened, making sure that Flightkit was looking. But, as usual, she was looking in a daze up at the sky. He deflated, looking back over at Featherkit, his bobbed tail twitching.

The little chocolate striped kit was assaulted suddenly from above! With a yowl, she tumbled end over end and finally skidded to a stop- before Rowdykit, who had way overshot his mark. She picked herself up and watched Rowdykit stalk over to her, all bravado and noise.
It was alright. As the youngest of her litter, and the smallest Featherkit had learned very early to stand up to the others. She got along well with Rowdykit, for all that he was usually trying to bully them. And she thought it was downright hysterical that he had a huge crush on her sister.
And her sister? Oh, she was definitely a little out there. Featherkit hadn't seen her look at Rowdykit much more than once. But, then again, sometimes she didn't exactly understand her sister, for all that they were family. She looked at Rowdy as he preened and tried to get her attention, and snickered when it became clear that she wasn't watching. Rowdykit turned to look at her, and she grinned wickedly.
"Oh yeah, you're hot stuff alright," she joked, and then launched herself in the air, preparing to land nearly on top of Rowdykit so she could box with him. No, no, she was not very ladylike. But she sure enjoyed herself.

Rowdykit really didn't mind the other kits. He was rather quite fond of all of them, even though he had the tendency to enjoy bullying Featherkit the most, due to her tomboyish nature. But, for the sake of being a show-off, and due to the fact she was the only one out here, it was her who was the target of today's antics.
Humph He said, lowering his head irritably. I.. I meant to do that. I didn't want to hurt you, 'cause you're just a girl He said cooly, trying to save face. He glanced at Flightkit, hoping to catch her attention, and to his delight she was padding over. She smiled at him lightly, making him simply fly high in delight, before she looked over at her sister. But with his attention elsewhere, he was suddenly bowled over by Featherkit, and he yowled in surprise. He launched her off, hissing in mock intimidation.
Watch how a real cat fights, Featherkit! He said, leaping over at her with a hiss, attempting to bowl her over. Flightkit, on the other hand, merely sat and watch with mild boredness.

For a moment, Featherkit went unusually still for a little kit. She narrowed her eyes and gave Rowdykit a look.
"I'll show you 'just a girl'!" she yowled, launching a counter assault on Rowdykit, apparently intent on kicking his butt all around the camp until he took back that ill-made statement. She let him bowl her over, but using his own weight against him, kicked with her hind feet as she was bowled over, trying to launch him in the air.
Across the clearing, Pinedark was keeping an eye on the three kits. Flightkit, she wasn't worried about. But Featherkit sometimes took things a little too seriously, and Rowdykit had just uttered some serious fighting words. As her youngest aimed to throw the older kit over, Pinedark stood and padded over, sitting next to Flightkit. For a moment, the two wore identical expressions of boredom. Then Featherkit saw her mother, and apparently thought better of the tackle she was clearly intending to bestow on Rowdykit.
"Well he started it," she muttered, apparently pouting.

At the sudden assault at the cost of his words, he gave a ferocious hiss, gaining his paws firmly before getting up, preparing to launch another attack. However, she stopped, and he skidded to a halt. He didn't have to turn around to know that someone's mother was behind them.
Did not! He suddenly snapped, looking over at her. I don't care who started it, but it shall be us to finish it Came the cool purr of the black and white leader. While he showed a certain wariness of other's mothers [since mothers are just like that] it was nothing with how he reacted when his own mother came over. His eyes widened with terror, and he shrank below Snowstar's calm gaze, almost emotionless aside from the disaproval. He shuffled his paws guiltily. Now, both of you are to behave yourselves, lest I decide 6 moons isn't enough for you to prepare for the responsibility of being apprentices. While it was no idle threat, Snowstar simply wanted to issue a warning before something more serious occurred. Such as sneaking out into the middle of the night to pick fights with rogues, and almost get cats from other clans killed in the mean time.
Her eyes softened mildly, and Snowstar licked each of them in turn on the forehead. Behave yourselves. My apologies, Pinedark, if my son gave you any grief.

Ooooh, they were in trouble on two fronts! Featherkit sat with the twin expression to Rowdykit, her eyes all wide and surprised. She didn't see the slightly amused grin that her mother shot the leader when neither kit was looking.
"No worries, Snowstar, they were stopping. I think," Pinedark said to her leader, with one of those wry grins. She was, perhaps, recalling the same incident as his mother. Merely picking an argument with her daughter- who was too prone to arguing anyway- was nothin'. She flicked an ear sideways as she thought, for a moment.
"Besides, we were all kits once. I supposed I gave my elders their fair share of grief," she said over the heads of the two kits. She could see from the set of Featherkit's body that she was considering shouldering Rowdykit, though at least now it was good-natured. Still, she put her paw down on her daughter's tail and cleared her throat. In response, Featherkit looked up at her mom and heaved a sigh, making it clear that her fun had just been completely /ruined/.

Silly kittens. Always running about. Oh wait... I am a kitten.
The black tom called Alderkit had watched his sister and Rowdykit's antics quietly from above. He was laying on some of the rocks that he could jump up to on the outer rims of the main camp. His tail hung lightly over the side and swished back and forth. Pinedark, their mother, got up first and Alderkit smirked. Now those little goobs would get in trouble. Not that he really wanted them too, but he still found it rather amusing, watching them get reprimanded all the time. He was hardly chastised, partly because he never romped around. He was laid back, perhaps a bit prideful, not really wanting to play with the others. He liked to hang by himself, until the adults came around. As Snowstar came up, Alder hopped down. He really liked the leader, and tried to make himself present whenever she was around. The black she-cat also spoke to Rowdykit and Featherkit and Alderkit chuckled softly to himself. Sidling up to Snowstar, Alderkit stood quietly and waited to see if anything interesting would happen. Like his siblings, he was bored. He just didn't make a show of it by leaping around and about. He was a calm boy. And he liked that about himself, even if it did leave him bored.
So, what now?
