The den was warm and inviting, the perfect size too. 'Of course, they have so much more experience than you, in such matters.' thought Twonose to herself, as she stumbled about the nursery, making a comfortable nest for herself with moss and bracken. The she-cat had not met anyone from her new clan but her leader, having been shown to the nursery first, but she didn't think it was long before word would spread. She slumped neatly into her nest, commending herself silently on her building ability. She wondered vaguely if there were any other she-cats expecting kits, but before she could answer herself, she slipped into pleasant drowsiness and fell asleep. Her tiring morning finally catching up with her..

"Hey! Hey, hey hey hey! Who are you~?" Shouted a loud voice. Perhaps if Twonose were to open her eyes at that moment, she would be staring into a pair of highlighter-green eyes of a very inquisitive little tom. There were no other nursing mothers at the moment, and the mother appeared to be missing at that point in time. Truth be told, he and his siblings were close to getting apprenticed; the entire camp was probably grateful to assign someone to keep an eye on them and they could finally release some energy with the busy tasks.
The cat she was staring at was a tri-colored tortie, dominantly white with black and orange patches mottling his coat. He also appeared to be lacking a tail, to where it ended in a little waving fluffy stub. "Who are you? Where did you come from? Did Mom bring you here?" He fired another batch of loud questions, bouncing lightly in the soft bedding and nesting.
"Rowdykit! Leave her be, and let her rest!Came the soft but authoritive voice of Snowstar as she walked past the den and inevitably heard her son's loud and inquisitive questions.

A bigger cat coming into the nursery – barely making a sound, but it was loud enough to wake Rowdykit’s sister – made Autumnkit’s ears twitch, and moments after she heard it her eyes opened to reveal bright copper orbs. She jumped to her paws, at the end of long, thin legs. Her tail, too, was a fluffy little stub, just like her brother’s. Her fur was semi-long; not quite long but it was half-way there.
She didn’t make a noise and hoped that the white parts of her fur would blend in with the darkness. Twonose smelled like the outside…oh, how Autumnkit wished to go out there! Soon enough. Her bright eyes were closed save for a tiny sliver, so that they would be much less noticeable. As the she-cat settled in – she smelled like Snowstar had moons ago; she must be pregnant – Autumnkit watched her fall asleep and then grinned as Rowdykit stuck his nose in her face.
“I’m Autumnkit,” she purred, pushing Rowdykit to the side so that Twonose would only see her. “What’s your name? When did you come? …Did Mom bring you here?” She wanted to beat her brother with three questions, but couldn’t think of her own and “recycled” Rowdykit’s. While she waited for some answers, Autumnkit jumped on her brother, her stubby tail wagging like a dog’s when it was happy.

The blast of noise hit her ears like a firecracker and Twonose awoke to find two bright, curious little faces staring up at her, eyes wide and stumpy tails waggling. She thought for a second that time had sped up and that these two mischievious-looking kits were own, but then her senses came back to her in the form of a strong kick and a wriggle inside her belly. 'Well hello there!' she purred at the two kittens in front of her. Judging by their size she'd say they were brother and sister, and nearing apprenticehood. 'My name is Twonose, I come from a Clan far away from here, but not half as pretty. I'm taking a wild guess that you're Snowstars kits?' She could sense their eagerness, hanging in the air like a hibernating bat. 'What are your names? I didn't know I would have company..' she smiled warmly and invitingly. It would be nice to have someone to talk to until her kits were born.

While Rowdykit couldn't entirely be considered 'company', he was at least, somebody to talk to. As he was shoved aside unceremoniously by his sister, he let out a startled cry. He rolled over to hiss at his sister, ears flattening. He was about to tackle her but she began bouncing on him as she spoke, and he let out an irritable growl before rolling over, throwing her to the floor. Or at least somewhere not on him.
He got up as if trying to preserve his dignity, squaring his tiny shoulders and shaking out his fur, but this sudden act of gentleman-ness was lost suddenly as he bounded over to hop up and down in excitement circling Twonose.
"Well! M'name's Rowdykit, 'n tha's mah sister Autumnkit, 'n I dunno where my brother Tempestkit is. He's so lucky, he has a nice, long tail and all I have is a stub. My Mom's Snowstar, and we get to boss all the other cats 'round, and My Dad's Dragonpelt! And-" All this was said with rapid fire, as if he couldn't get out each word fast enough. Such a bundle of energy, enough to drive half the Clan crazy.
My apologies, Twonose, I didn't know these two would be up Snowstar said as she entered the den, giving a reprimanding glare in their direction. If you want, I can move them out of hereShe offered, setting a paw on her son's tail as he bounced by, forcing him to his rear in front of her.
[bah, sorry it's so late!]

Twonose watched the two bouncy bundles of fur as they jumped, rolled and generally annoyed each other. The sight almost made her laugh out loud, they were so amusing really, kits. 'Rowdykit, it suits you! And Autumnkit, such a pretty name, I cant wait to meet your brother..' she purred, still watching him gallop around her. 'Oh no, Snowstar, there's no need to make a fuss,' she smiled, as the kits mother walked in, 'They'll be good company, and perhaps they might even consider helping me out for a few days, as I don't know my way around yet..' she trailed off, looking up at Snowstar with a twinkle in her eyes. She could be a source of entertainment for the young ones until they had other jobs to do, it might keep their wandering minds and wiggly bottoms busy for a few days more. 'I don't mind them being here in the slightest. How old do they have to be before they're apprenticed?' she asked, just generally interested..

(OoC: Kit time!! Yeyyz!) Not even the she-cat herself had thought the kits were going to be this late, normally three or four days perhaps but not over a week. It's usually natural instinct for a mother to know when her litter is arriving, but this was Twonose's first litter and she didn't know the signs. So of course it came as quite a shock to her when a blinding spasm of pain rocketed through her body from the belly up. She stopped grooming immediately, assuming it was something she'd eaten and was about to go ask the medicine cat for some herbs for bellyache when another spasm, worse than the first, brought her heavy frame back to the floor of the nursery. Cringing and whimpering, the tabby and white she crawled cautiously back to her mossy nest and curled as best she could around herself. She kept as motionless as possible, still baffled, and now slightly concerned as to what was happening to her.

About an hour later, she knew. But only because she was now accompanied by three tiny little scraps of fur, eagerly nursing at her side. Two toms and the smallest little she-kit Twonose had ever laid eyes on, and the best part? They were hers. She had licked all three of them clean but was still going, so proud to be a mother. The scraps squirmed and she stopped to examine them for a moment.
The little fae was a beautiful striking gold colour with a darker stripe running along her spine, the bigger tom shared this pelt colour but without the dark stripe. And the third, the smaller of the two toms, and yet the eldest of all three - pitch black with not a single drop of colour on any part of him. Twonose purred, smiling, and nudged them each in turn. First, her only daughter - Sunkit, second, the largest - Beechkit, and third, her first born - Pantherkit.(OoC: I'mma gonna wait a few weeks before giving Sunkit and Beechkit up for adoption - I'll whack 'em in the Adoptions board when I feel like it! =D)

[I'm SO sorry, Whitewhisker! D: I've been so busy lately, and my muses hadn't come back for a while until I decided to attack these boards by storm. >>; Please forgive me, i'll try to be more active now that summer is here. ^^]
Snowstar, of course, knew the signs. She had loped off to check on the rest of the clan before she would turn her attention to her rowdy kits, and ensure that they would not bother the new she-cat. As she neared, however, she could already tell that something was wrong. It took only the first noise of pain to figure it out. She entered swiftly, herding her kits out to give the expecting mother some space, before exiting with a flick of her tail. She had intended to retrieve the medicine cat, but it wasn't long before she could hear the tiny mews of kits.
It was shortly after the came, and the silence descended upon the nursery, that Snowstar left the company of her clan [and of course, leaving her kits under supervision] that she entered the nursery with a sweep of her tail.
Her eyes adjusted quickly as the familiar scents entered her head, and she smiled kindly to the new mother. Twonose, congratulations on your new kits She whispered warmly, not wanting to break the atmosphere with overyloud words. She sat down a respectful distance away, curling her tail over her paws, and chuckled. It seems not so long ago that I myself had my kits, and already they are of age to be apprenticed. They grow up so fast, so never miss these moments.
How many are there? She inquired, watching Twonose with her sage-green and wise eyes.

(OoC: Dw, I know everyone's busy with exams and the like, I just didn't want them forgotten ^^ PS - if there are any mistakes please let me know, this was very rushed xD)
Shortly after deciding what names to give to her precious kittens Twonose drifted off into a doze. It was the kind of doze where your head just tips forwards without your knowing until it goes too far and you wake up with a jolt thinking - did I just fall asleep? After the third time of this happening the tabby she-cat just decided to sleep. The birth had tired her greatly and as much as she wanted to spend every living moment with her three beautiful bundles, she knew it wouldn't do her any good to keep putting it off. She was glad that Snowstar had removed her own kits from the nursery as it had allowed her a few moments of complete and utter privacy with the newest members of StoneClan.
Several hours had passed since Twonose succumbed to sleep, her kits had fallen silent beside her and the only sounds to be heard were the slow deep breaths of the family. When Snowstar herself appeared to see the new arrivals Twonose jerked awake, her tabby striped head snapping up and her pale green eyes squinting groggily into the darkness, trying to identify the feline silhouette at the doorway. She relaxed as she recognised the voice and scent of her leader and began to purr with happiness at the thought of being able to show off her kits.
'Thankyou Snowstar, I'm exhausted' she smiled, 'I'm no medicine cat but I think they're healthy too.. there's three, a little she-kit and two toms' she stated proudly in answer to Snowstar's question. She stretched out all four legs and uncurled her body slightly to allow the other she-cat to look at them, all the while purring loud enough to wake the dead.
