Step. Step. Stop. Shudder. Sigh. He was... Home.
The little tom collapsed, flopping to the ground, a puff of dust raising up from the ground as he hit it. The dirty particles settled in his already messy fur, and his golden eyes stared idly at the dry earth before him. So long it had been... With that crazy cat... He closed his eyes, breathing in deeply, his ribs pressing against his skin and showing the outline of his skeleton as he did so. So long... He opened his eyes and glanced up at the bright azure sky. Daylight. He didn't like daylight. It was too bright. Squinting, he looked at the water before him, and crawled the last few inches to wards it before plunging his muzzle into the liquid.
Cavekit drank deeply, as the refreshing, life giving water flowed into him, and it seemed to bring some life back into his eyes. After he felt he could drink no more, the little calico pushed himself to his paws, gave himself a shake, and glanced around. Home. He was home... But... Would they remember him? He barely remembered anyone but his sister. Lunakit... Was she okay? Would she be mad at him for disappearing? Though it hadn't been his fault...
And what about mother? Mother... What had happened to her? And father? He didn't remember their faces much, but he know that he DID have a mother and father. Wherever they were.
Should he let someone know he was back? Or maybe just go crawl into the nursery and sleep? He was so very tired... He sighed again, and stared at the water. Maybe he could just sit here. And wait. Maybe someone would find him. He didn't want to be around a lot of cats... Which might happen if he sauntered into camp.
Yeah. He would sit here. Maybe until night. Then go into camp when everyone was sleeping.
.... Maybe.

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are She’d had better days.
Angrily the little calico padded from the camp, maneuvering through the tangle of brambles and heading off to the one place where she found solace anymore, the oases. It was there she had many a rant to her out loud about different things – every time she was hurt or angry…or even alone.
No one ever seemed to think she was so alone, or even realized it. There weren’t any other kits in the clan her age, and only a couple younger cats. Her father was always so busy, although he tried and she didn’t really hate him because of it, and the warriors of the clan always had something to do that they didn’t have the time to play with a youngster.
In truth, Lunakit felt alone in the world, and grown inwardly because of it. She had become as independent as her father thought – doing her own thing without so much as asking another feline, but this had such bad affects too. She was certainly smart, crafty even, but her temper had increased to an exponential level and she was generally outright mean to the other members of the clan without caring what they though.
Needing to cool down, the kit padded through the desolate area, her eye on the oasis right in front of her…but there was something different about the otherwise familiar sight.
Maybe it was because there was a small cat sitting by the waters, looking at the water like it had all the answers to his problems. Who was he to enter Stealthclan territory?! Lunakit charged forward at the other kit, seeking to bowl him over and give him a clawing he deserved for it…but she stopped as his scent came to her only feet away.
She knew that scent. “…Cavekit?” Her voice, normally flat and emotionless when she wasn’t reacting out of anger, held a wistful ring of shock to it as her amber eyes widened in shock. She padded a step towards her long lost brother. Another. Another. “It’s you…it’s really really you…”

Downwind, crouched with his tail straight out behind him, ears forward, Ivoryshard crept until he was within hearing and smelling range of Lunakit, and then he lay down, like a sheepdog after sheep.
But it was the strangest thing. It smelled like there were two cats- one smelled a lot like Sunsetfire and Lunakit, and the other was obviously Lunakit. He raised his head just slightly to take a deeper breath to smell out the other cat. Definitely related to Luna and Sunsetfire, that one was. And some kind of messed up. He didn't really know who in the world this cat was, but since he was related to the leader, that made him clan. And Ivory pretty much saw the world as clan or not-clan. If you were clan, he'd leave you be.
So that was what he did. He knew better than to show himself to a stranger cat, even if they were clan. Especially if they were messed up. It tended to make things worse if he showed his big tawny self or even got upwind of them. With just the slightest sigh, he put his chin on his paws and settled to make sure no one started anything they couldn't finish.

Maybe... Just maybe... No one would come. No one would care. That would probably be it. For the time he had been living in the clan, he had pretty much rejected everyone. He didn't like very many people.... He didn't like having to deal with them. Didn't like conversations. Didn't like social interaction. He was a bit of a reject. Heck, he slept through the day half the time! And what did he do at night? Creep off alone and dig. Just dig. Oh, how he loved to dig.
But he'd dig by himself. No one loved him. He loved no one.
Except his sister... And mother... And maybe father... But mother was gone... And father never came either...
It was hopeless. Dead little eyes stared at the water, the water that helped to give him the will to carry on. Maybe he shouldn't have drank it. Never have let a drop touch the dry wasteland that was his tongue. It only gave him hope for the life he lacked, the life he shouldn't have. Future? What future. He'd spend his life living alone. He couldn't fight. He didn't want to fight. His sister fought. He just... Dug. And what kind of talent was that? Nothing.
Sigh.
A little tom needs love too...
Then his ears perked up, and he looked in the direction of the pawsteps, eyes wide. Was it her again? Oh god, don't let her have found him... That insane she-cat... Alive, she called herself? No no no no no....
But... It wasn't her. It was Lunakit. His sister. His dear, dear sister... His little kitten heart almost stopped, and his legs almost failed him. She was here, she was here... Someone had come. Someone had come to find him in the barren world that he called home. Someone cared... Tiny heartbeats rushed at an unnatural pace, and he jumped to his feet, now desperate for physical contact with someone he loved. But his legs refused to obey him. However, his willpower forced his dead limbs to move, and slowly, he approached his sister. He paused before her, quivering, just dying to nuzzle her, but afraid.
What if she WAS mad? What if she was angry with him? Maybe this was her secret spot, and he had invaded it. Oh, no no no. But... He couldn't believe it. The only person he felt he had left... He couldn't believe she could hate him. Wide, pleading golden hues stared into hers. "... Lunakit..."
His voice was rusted sounded, and he appeared to be uncertain of his words, as if he hadn't spoken for a long, long time.
"I... I... I've missed you... I'm sorry... So sorry..."

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are Lunakit didn’t know what to do. She stared long and hard at her brother, the only cat she had ever felt a strong connection to before…before…she couldn’t even remember that night very well, not anymore. They had been so little back then…just mere fluffballs only just becoming aware of the world around them and starting to work out their own individuality.
But she had changed since then, from the bouncing little calico fluff that was nearly inseparable from her brother. The she-kit shivered, unable to pull herself away from watching her brother pad closer – but he too then stopped leaving them to watch one another. “Sorry?” Confusion entered her young voice; something wasn’t clicking enough for her to understand. “Why are you sorry? You back and here now, that’s what matters.”
Break.
It was like a building dam, escaping in a rush. Lunakit broke through the last few steps and embraced her brother the best she could, one paw wrapped around him shoulders and just licking and licking the side of his face as a rapid, light purr escaped her. Cavekit was back! It was as if it was realization striking her all over again, over and over and over again. Her brother was home!
“I know dad missed you too. He just…he’s a busy cat, you know? Being leader and all. Mom..” Lunakit’s voice grew time with unrelenting anger, and she cut off that subject then and there, not wanted for Cavekit to confuse that anger and hate as directed towards him when it was not, could never be.
“Come home, Cavekit. I’m missed you so much.” While she could be cruel and manipulative, there were no truer words that had ever passed from her lips – Lunakit stepped away, releasing her brother, and looking at him expectantly. He was coming home, right?

Ivory raised his head from his paws and tipped it to the side, listening to the two kits talking. So this was the long lost brother to Lunakit? The thought made Ivory's tail wave in a broad arc- more people coming home!
He did wonder, judging just from how the kit sounded, and how his scent was, if the kit was even going to be able to get all the way back to camp. But he didn't want to step in and imply the kit couldn't do it- any sibling of Luna was likely to do it just to prove him wrong, he thought.
But if they were going to walk back towards camp, they were either going to have to walk right past him, or he was going to have to get up and move, and risk making noise. He settled for flattening to the ground as much as he could, ears barely up far enough to hear. He put a paw over his nose to hide it, and went as still as a statue, relying on his tawny fur to help him blend in to the dead dry grass.

In all honesty, Cavekit couldn't remember that unfaithful night either. Well, he remembered bits and pieces, but he'd rather just forgot about it entirely. It wasn't a pleasant experience, being forced to be someone else's baby. To be forcibly groomed by someone who was clearly insane. Although Alive attempted to be loving and motherly... She was obviously screwed up. And his failed escape attempts always upset her, made the crazy she-cat drag him back roughly, and blubber on about how she loved him and she never wanted to lose him...
Forget it. Forget forget forget... He didn't want to remember. He had escaped, and was now standing here with his sister.
He stared at there, standing where he was, wanting to play with her like he used to. Snuggle up together like they used to. But she seemed confused with his apologizing. He was sorry for disappearing and leaving her behind. Sorry for all that had happened. Sorry for not having managed escape sooner. Sorry for making her a single kit without a sibling. But he couldn't bring himself to speak. His voice was so unused, it was almost hard to force out the words. Instead, he used his eyes. The love for his sister, relief to be free and home... His pleading for physical contact, were all mixed together like some type of golden smoothie, and stared straight into her, black pupils seeming to float midst it all.
Then the small space between them disappeared.
As she hugged him the best she could, he returned the favor with what strength he could muster. If he could cry, tears would be rolling down his fuzzy little face. A rusty purr rumbled up from deep in his chest, almost making his bones rattle from the volume of it. But you couldn't blame the young tom for being so happy. He was home. His sister still loved him. He was safe and free of that crazy she-cat.
He listened to her talk about their father, and begin to talk about their mother, but then abruptly stop. He would have questioned it, but he wasn't one to question. When she stepped back and told him to come home, his tail rose and waved in the air. Home. Home home home home. How lovely a word that was. He managed a smile, perking his ears forward.
"Home... Yes... Home..."
He tried to step forward, but his paws now absolutely refused to move. Cavekit looked a bit confused, then a bit flustered, and looked down at his feet. Why didn't they move? Then suddenly, his paws gave out from under him, and he plopped down on his rump to avoid falling over. Oh. Right. Although he really wanted to take the last few steps to return to camp, his body was just too worn out, too exhausted.
He frowned, then returned his gaze to his sister. "I... think I'm too tired... Dead on my paws?"

Ivory stood when he heard Cavekit admit that he couldn't walk back to camp. Figuring that the kit wouldn't remember him, and that he wouldn't take so well to a big coyote springing out of the bushes without warning, the coyote crouched down and belly crawled forward.
"Lunakit? I came to make sure there were no foxes about, but it sounds like you two need help. Or he does," he said as he poked his nose through the grass to see the two kits he'd been listening to. He poked his nose out a little hesitantly, half expecting the she-cat to go for him for hanging out uninvited, but he couldn't very well leave the two of them and run to get their father.
Then he looked at Cavekit, wagging his tail even though the little tom couldn't see him wagging his tail.
"You probably don't remember me, but I promise I don't eat cats," he said, crawling a little further into the clearing before he stood, very slowly, and looked down at both kits, trying to gauge their reactions. But his tail never did stop waving just softly.

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are Yes. Home.
Her brother was smiling, and Lunakit managed a rare genuine one for his sake as well – but then things went wrong. Cavekit made to step forward and his little paws gave out on him, and he abruptly sat down. Alarmed, the little calico female padded around her brother, eyes filled with concern. “Cavekit?” She intoned softly, trying to figure out what to do. “Here…I’ll stay with you until you feel better.”
But before she could go and sit down by him, entirely willing to stay with him as long as it took until he felt rested enough to get up and actually walk back to camp with her, a solution presented itself.
Himself, actually.
Lunakit hadn’t been aware that she had been followed by a concerned coyote, but she quickly learned otherwise to such a fact. The kit snapped her head up and glared sharply and as menacingly as she could at the canine, leaping to her paws and making sure to place herself well between Cavekit and Ivoryshard.
“I’m a big girl; I can handle any foxes that come about!” She snarled angrily at the coyote, unhappy quickly that they thought so little of her that she couldn’t even take care of herself. But… She looked to her brother and sighed, giving up that bout of anger. “What can you do to help?” It was true, Cavekit did need help.
And Ivoryshard was just the quickest solution to an otherwise complicated problem.

The coyote flicked one ear out to the side and gave Lunakit a look. It was a look he recognized the moment he made it. His own mother and father had often given him the same look when he claimed he could do something ridiculous, like fly. It wasn't that he doubted she'd fight a fox rather than run- that was precisely why he'd followed her. Any other kit would take off running the other way if they came up against a fox, and maybe give a clan member time to rescue them. Lunakit he had his doubts about. But he'd give her credit for spirit. She had that in spades.
"Actually, I think you'd find it a challenge. And you probably wouldn't win, though I'll admit, it wouldn't be for lack of trying. I've met coyotes who don't want to tangle with foxes," he replied to the leader's daughter. Then he tilted his head at Cavekit, completely ignoring his sister and the probable reaction to this slight to her skill in taking on ridiculous and deadly challenges. Time enough to make friends with her later. For now, he rather thought the priority was getting Cavekit back to camp. He was thinking if the kit could at least hold on to his neck ruff, he'd give the youngster a ride. Failing that, Ivory wasn't a complete idiot, and was confident he could carry the youngster by the ruff of his neck.
"Think you can hold on to my neck? If you can hold on or balance between my shoulders, I can get you back," he said directly to the little tom, still not dignifying Lunakit's haughty demand with a response directed at her. She didn't deserve to get her way all of the time, and she could dang well learn to be civil if she wanted an answer from him. She'd find he was all ears if he was spoken to with a civil tone. I'm not sure quite how to treat Lunakit, but I figured continuing to spoil her would not be a good plan. Hopefully I didn't make her hate Ivory!

Cavekit gave his sister a bit of a helpless look. He was... Rather stuck, wasn't he? But she was willing to stay with him... Part of him wished she'd go get help, but he knew she probably wouldn't. If what he remembered about her was correct, she was rather independent. The other part of him, however, was relieved she was willing to wait for him to feel better. It meant she cared! She loved him. And he loved her. Sibling love, of course.
But the little tom now looked rather alarmed as another voice spoke, and the fur along his spine bristled, giving him a spiky, rugged look. Following that, his little tail puffed up, now making him just look silly. He watched in silence as the large, scary creature exchanged words with his sister. No, he didn't remember this... Dog thing. But it didn't intend to harm him, or his sister? Well... It did speak cat. that had to count for something.
At the question the coyote directed at the little tom, he stared down at his paws, and attempted to lift one. He count lift it, but he couldn't hold it up. After a second, gravity decided to take advantage of his current weakness and shove his paw back against the dirt, creating a puff of dust, which Cavekit then inhaled, and sneezed back out after a minute.
So no, he couldn't hold on. His golden eyes looked to the coyote, and he shook his head. OoC: Sorry for the wait D; I've been a bit busy.

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are The spoiled little kit knew that look quite well herself, it was one her father had gotten with her several times. While Sunsetfire was sure in punishing her when she had done wrong and he had caught it, he had never been very harsh – not wanting to alienate his only daughter after the disappearance of her mother and brother. “Try me, dogbreath!” She hissed loudly, fluffed tail lashing from side to side, as she positively glared at Ivoryshard. The coyote wasn’t earning any brownie points with the kit, that was for certain, but wasn’t the priority in getting her brother to camp?
The kit sighed out loud at that thought.
Almost miraculously, the outright attack at the coyote she had been about to pull was held – and while the calico was quivering the absolute frustration and anger she too manage to hold her tongue. When Sunsetfire had said the kit was independent, he hadn’t been kidding – she didn’t was any sort of help from anyone at all. How else was she expected to be? She had chosen to distance herself from everyone in the clan, some much more then others. What if she got close and they chose to then up and leave, like her Mother?
“Help him, Ivoryshard.” While it was said like an order, there was no doubt the unsaid plea in Lunakit’s eyes – for her brother, she would do everything and anything.

The big coyote lay on the ground and put his chin down so he was looking right at Cavekit, on his eye level. He sneezed too at the little dust puff from the ground.
"I promise I don't eat cats. You'd be too stringy anyway, and my sister's a cat. That would be bad," he said, and then stood up again. He looked at Lunakit for a moment.
"I would assume you'd rather walk, but if you want a ride, speak now," he said to the she-cat before turning back to her brother. As gently as any mother cat, he bent his neck and picked Cavekit up by his scruff. He threw Lunakit a questioning look, in case she felt like taking the quickest way back between his shoulders.
