Did you know that Erin Hunter isn't a person? it's a pen name! There are two people that live somewhere in Europe; Kate Cary and Cheridith Baldry that switch off on writing the Warrior's series.

Yeah; their editor Vicky also comes up with the plotlines. She's running out of ideas, they're getting way too predictable ._.

here here, Bristle. As much as I like her as a person things are getting too desperate. Sticking to deadlines is making their stories lack. Heck, Jean M. Auel, author of The Earth's Children series, began writing them in 1980, and is still going on to this day. There are currently 5 books, and a sixth is on it's way. She takes time with her books, she isn't just slugging them out for the profit. I think it's fair to say the trio have made a ton of money from their books - so there's no need to have them done on a deadline, they could easily take time to write them. -sigh- okay, rant over =]
I also think Kate and Cherith are American - Vicky is the only one who lives in England. =] They're never actually met her I don't think.

Oh well. For the people that didn't know it, it might have been cool to find out.

Jean M. Auel is a talented writer. ^^ I've only read 3 of the Earth Children books, but all my friends have read them all so far. Not sticking to a deadline makes them so much better, and frankly I think you'd make more money in the long run. They havn't met? Wow.. With enough money as they make, you'd think they'd afford a plane ticket. xD But i'm all for Bris 'n Baney.

Well, Warriors is good and all, but lately I've been favoring Stephanie Meyer and her fantastic Twilight series over Erin Hunter's works

Um okay whatevs. Twilight is awesome. I haven't finished the first book yet but uh yeah whateverrrr. xDD
The Warriors Series...aren't working out very much anymore. They were good when I was eleven, but now that I'm thirteen, seriously. The plots are just repeptitive, and, as an admin of a site I just joined said, it's basically a series showing the warrior code's death.
The only characters I like are Graystripe, Jaypaw, and...oh. That's it. xD
[ e d i t : I absolutely hate Squirrelflight. She's kind of a...um. Can't say it on here don't think. |D
Felt you all should know.
Stephenie Meyer's a very good writer, from what I've seen so far. I also like Tad Williams, in Tailchaser's Song, but I haven't read the full book yet. xD ]

[o o c] Personally I think the Warriors books are fun to read when i've got nothing better to do, or when i'm in the mood for some /light/ reading. The characters and just.. The basic idea of the book rather fascinate me [i'm 17, mind you] but I never said it was the best series ever.
Actually, my favorite series would have to be the... Er, Eragon series, I guess? Eldest was.. Kinda bland through the beginning and middle [they drug out the journey for too long, I was getting bored] but the battle was.. Brilliant.
Twilight is an awesome series. I started reading the 2nd book until it actually got stolen, and it was Astral's anyways to begin with.
I agree with Bris and Bane here, that the plots are getting way too predictable. The Tigerstar repetition is getting on my nerves. You'd think he'd just give up and die already. Or go elsewhere. I think the 'Sight' series is alright, a little different from the run of the mill Warriors series, butstill.
Is it just me, or did Squirrelflight.. Like.. Lose her personality when she became a warrior? She used to be stubborn and bullheaded, now she's like.. This blah character. A lot of the characters I used to like no longer take my attention, because it seems like Erin Hunter only focuses on the personalities of the main characters of the books, so the others lose their personalities i'd always loved when they were kits / apprentices. Not to say all of them did, Graystripe is still a wonderful character, and i'm pissed that Whitestorm had to die. And i'm actually rather fond of Mousefur, for some odd reason. Can't tell you why.
And dun flame me, but I come to think Crowfeather's rather... Desperate. He hardly knew Leafpool and he's like 'OHLAWD I LOVE YOU LETS ELOPE' just a little while after Featertail died. As soon as Leafpool told 'im no, he's like 'Alright, fine, Nightcloud = mate'. I was like 'wtf' throughout the entire thing.
Anyways, sorreh, rant. xD ]

-cough-manwhore-cough- xD
Totally agree. The whole Leafpool thing was totally unpredictable - I think Erin Hunter wanted it to be unpredictable, and they achieved it, but not as it could have been done. I can't remember a time when Leafpool and Crowfeather had even talked before the whole elope thing. There was no subtle hinting, it was just pushed out there out of the blue.
I love the first series, don't get me wrong. I was 13 when I read them and three years down the line I still love them. Erin Hunter did a seriously awesome job with them - the storyline was good, ALL of the characters had been developed well. They're getting into trouble with us oldies in that they're sapping the energy out of all the originals. The characters we fell in love with are being drained of that character. Firestar is boring, Sandstorm has become your traditional female role instead of the somewhat arrogant kit she once was. With Brambleclaw, my favourite moment with him was when he was a kit in the first series, and Fireheart rescued him from the burning camp. He represented the struggle Fireheart was going through - then as soon as he grew up, just another cat. I would have loved it if he could have atleast shown some traits of Tigerstar.
That said, I have high hopes for series three. Jaypaw is friggin' amazing - Erin Hunter has another good main character. =] Cause he actually has character! Anywho i'm going off on one. -goes to look up this Twilight series I seem to have never heard of before-
OH, and one more thing. Yeah, the books basically repeat the same principles of the warrior code being broken - Graystripe was the first to go ahead and do it, and when I read it I was like "=O oh my naughty!" but like, now it's made out as if everyone at some point breaks the warrior code. Thus, what is the point of it? -que awesome supposedly evil character, who is actually the only sane one of them all plz-

[o o c] Oh yeah, definitly!! In 'The Sight', she only briefly covers Graystripe's personality, which is fine, since it shows he's.. Well, changed. But he still has that charm to him.
Firestar IS boring. The first series.. Oh my god, I loved Firepaw/heart/ etc. because he had his flaws. But Bane's right, it seems that the Warrior Code is only some.. I don't know, but everybody seems to break it without consequence now. Squirrelflight AND Sandstorm are just.. Meh nowadays, because of it.
Brambleclaw reminds me of those.. Motards I come to find in my ROTC class. xDDD -nerd- Those... Overly pushy and 'must follow the rules, live by leader's rules, i'll make an ass of you if you don't' kind of deals. Weird comparison, butstill.
EXACTLY!! Crowfeather is a man.whore. xDD I didn't mind his falling in love with Feathertail, because they were building a history between eachother on the journey, even if it was my least favorite series. But after she died, he suddenly 'fell in love' with Leafpool. Wtf...
