Troublekit would be quick to lead the way, tearing off into the sunlight to look around at the more or less mostly unfamiliar surroundings. Sure, she’d been outside once and twice with her parents just to take a peek – and probably to get the kits out of their hair for a bit instead of being cooped up in the camp with them – but here they were in a REAL adventure, and she was so gonna live it up while she did so! The she-kit laughed cheerily as she finally stopped to take a better look, not really paying attention to see if her brother was keeping up or not as she padded forward.
She smelled…water? And not from the waterfall. It took some more walking for her to find herself at the edge of a great large pool of standing water, fish flitting and darting beneath the shimmering surface. Woah…how did they get there? Did one of the warriors go and gather fish from the river and put them there or something? She crouched down at the very edge and looked into the water, her small reflection staring back up at her. But even so, she waited patiently enough until a small fish darted just by her little perch, her paw darting out to try to catch it.
Lack of experience made her misjudge her timing, and instead of catching the fish she toppled off the edge and fell face forward into the water with a loud yowl! Scrabbling crazily she resurfaced and scrambled back to the edge of the pool, clambering out and shaking her fur off with a comical look on her face.
Ugh. Slick moves, man, slick moves…

Following after Troublekit, Shykit slunk along low to the ground, as if he could melt into it and hide from the wrath of whomever found them first. But he kept up with his sister just fine, until they finally stopped at a pool of water. Troublekit went to try and catch fish, while Shykit watched, head tilted to the side, well clear of the water.
"I don't think you should-" he began, right as Troublekit overbalanced and tipped into the water. She came up spluttering and hauled herself out, and Shykit grinned crookedly "-do that." he finished. Nonchalantly, he wandered over and crouched to look in the water, keeping an eye on his sister in case she wanted to throw him in. He dipped his paw in and out of the water, fascinated at how the water made his paw fragment when it entered the water, so it looked like there were two different pieces to his arm.
"Hey, lookit that!" he said, turning and looking at his sister excitedly. He turned back to the water, looking at a slow moving fishie that happened to be right near the top of the water. Maybe he could catch it...
With a quick dart, he aimed slightly above where he thought the fish should be, accounting for that strange bend he'd seen when he'd stuck his paw in the water. He snagged a claw on the fish and nearly dragged it out, but it was too heavy. Instead, the fish swam in a crazy circle, the worse for wear. He darted his paw out again and caught it this time, dragging it up onto land- though just barely. As he hauled it the final inch onto dry land, he contrived to tip himself clean into the water.
"AI!" he yelped, bobbing back up out of the water with a startled yelp and clawing his way back onto dry land.
"I don't think I like fishing," he said with feeling, dripping water all over the place, creating a huge puddle at his feet.
