Moss raised her sleek head up and tasted the air. A rabbit's scent reached her nose, and she smirked. Perfect, she thought, dropping quickly into a well balanced hunters crouch. This should be enough to feed at least three of us. The rabbit was around five tail-lengths away, unsuspecting and plump. Its paw flickered up and ran over its ear, then froze. A scent wafted in the breeze, drifting slowly towards Moss. Mouse-dung, she spat, leaping forward. The rabbit was already gone, it's bushy white tail disappearing into the gorse. Moss whirled, her multicolored eyes searching for the intruder who had lost her her prey. A gray cat was sitting on his haunches, his eyes sparkling mischeviously. "Nice catch," he purred. Moss glared at him. "You mouse brained idiot!" She lept at him, knocking him from his feet. "Hawk! You lost me the only piece of prey I've seen today!" His clear eyes gazed up at her. "I know. I'm sorry. But have some news! You know those cat clans at the edge of the meadow?" Moss nodded, steping off of Hawk. "Yeah?" "Well, I ran into one today!"
