Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are Her mother was gone. Her brother too. As day after day passed, the pretty little daughter of Stealthclan’s noble leader knew, just knew!, that they would never come back. How ever did her father cope? The quiet kit had taken to watching the tom, and it almost hurt her to see that it was as if he never noticed them as missing. Perhaps he was grieving on the inside, like he had to of with his fallen deputy and sister? She knew nothing of those two except what others had said of them, but she would have thought that he would have loved Momma enough to mourn her leaving like a normal cat.
But leaders weren’t normal cats, were they? Gah! There was so much to clan life she just didn’t understand yet!
Sunsetfire had busied himself earlier that morning, Lunakit knew well. While the tom hadn’t appointed a new deputy yet, and likely wouldn’t until the proper cat showed up, she had actually overheard him muttering out loud that Jaysong, another tom in the clan she had never really met, would make a good medicine cat. Enraged by the replacement of her Momma so soon, the kit had used everyone’s busyness to slip out from the camp, making her way carefully through the hidey-holes in the brambles to the oasis close by, making sure to avoid the other one that her dad had said was dangerous. It was there, instead, where she made herself comfortable by the silent, still waters – looking out across them but unable to see the other side.
“Do you really hate me that much, Momma?” Her young voice called out, carried a little ways by the still air before fading into nothingness. “Is that why you took Cavekit and not me too?” Lunakit didn’t know, just didn’t know all that, and the little calico kit felt more alone now then ever. The waters, disturbed by a leaping frog startled by her young voice into flight, rippled for a moment before her. Fascinated, she watched them lap against the shore, even reaching out with one snowy white paw to touch the water lightly and create even more ripples. But no, she wasn’t through yet. “No! No, I hate you Momma! That way…that way it won’t hurt anymore. I hate you first!”
And yet only silence answered her.

Never were two cats more different...better suited to be friends...
Tsunami padded briskly along the pathway, worn by the paws of many previous cats. The holes were still unfamiliar to her, and it took her a few tries to determine the proper way to go. Finally, after what seemed many moons, she had found the little oasis. Ignoring her surroundings, she leapt into the water with a satisfying splash. Named after one of water's most powerful incarnations, Tsunami adored swimming. She paddled about a little, then laid down in the shallows, letting the coolness soak into her fur. The hot greenleaf sun had scorched her blue-gray pelt, and she craved the soothing water with a desire equal to hunger.
"Daemon, you daft furball!" she shouted into the bushes. "Come over here and cool off, before your pelt burns through!" Tsunami had always had a barbed tongue, and gave very little lieway to anyone, not even her new best friend.
Daemon followed ever so cautiously. The she-cat was almost bizarre looking in coloring. Snowy white all splashed-looking with muddy brown patches. Her intense kiwi-colored eyes darted from Tsunami, to the water, to the safety of the bushes she now stood in.
"Oh, but Tsunami...I'm ever so frightened of water..." she whined, nervously.
Tsunami gave her "the look," which meant she was to oblige or the larger she-cat would simply drag her in. So, frightened, but wanting to stay with her friend, Daemon crept to the water's edge and gently slid her paws in. Neither cat, it seemed, had noticed their company.

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are For a moment, just an incomprehensible flash of time, little Lunakit thought that someone was speaking to her. Her calico fur puffed as big as she could possible go and she looked around with slitted amber eyes. It wasn’t fear, oh no, the kit was well on her way to a full threat display, a challenge to whoever it was that had interrupted her moment of hate towards her mother. But the voices came from close by, continuing on as another answered the first. Curiosity overrode her initial rage at them being there, and the kit wandered through the low tattered undergrowth towards the voices. They grew closer, and closer, and all too soon, all she had to do was peek out from the bush she was hiding in and see the two cats in the water. One seemed quite at home, a feeling that Lunakit understood well as she too was exceedingly fond of water – it had been something to help in filling the void in the loss of her dear brother – but the other didn’t look at all thrilled.
Who were these cats? What were they doing here?
Lunakit crept silently from the bush, sniffing at the air. While she wasn’t familiar with either she-cats’ scents, they were overlaid with the stronger territorial scents of Stealthclan. So, clan cats, just ones she didn’t know. Instead of bounding forward eager for play like a typical happy kit, Sunsetfire’s one daughter sat down right where she was half out of the bush, her slitted amber eyes studying the two coldly; critically.
Lordy. She has grown to be quite the antisocial one, hasn’t she?

Never were two cats more different...better suited to be friends...
Tsunami yawned widely, showing off her impressive fangs. She laid her head down on a flat stone near the bank and started to drift off, letting the water lap at her sides. Closing her eyes, she listened to Daemon's frenzied pawsteps as the nervous she-cat dipped her paws in and out of the water, like she was getting shocked.
"Oh, will you just settle down and enjoy it?" she moaned, her eyes still shut against the sun's glare.
Daemon winced at Tsunami's abrasive comment, but wanted to prove that she could be brave. So, steeling her nerves to the feel of the water rushing over her paws, she plunged in. Coming back up drenched, but much cooler, she marveled at the fact that Tsunami had been right all along.
"This is quite nice actually..." she mused aloud. Then, her ears pricked to the sound of pawsteps just beyond where they were lounged in the water. "Tsunami, we have company."
The Russian Blue she-cat raised her head and stared in the direction that Daemon indicated.
"Who's over there, you can't sneak up on us anymore, so come out," Tsunami thundered.

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are Uh-oh. Caught.
Instead of panicking and fleeing back to the clan camp, the tiny fluffy calico kit determinedly padded forward from the brush she was hiding under, her amber gaze, such echoes of her father’s eyes, hallow and emotionless. Who were these cats to dare order her around? She was the great Lunakit, who needed no one! “You’re both more of Dad’s warriors, huh?” She asked, her voice flat and certain of the truth behind her question. Ahah, she knew they were warriors, had to be, but why were they lazing around doing nothing. Shouldn’t they be doing something productive…like hunting for the clan or on patrol on the look out for enemies so whatever else it was that warriors did?
But there was so much of her grandfather within the little kit, and the initial anger she had felt towards her Momma and then in this two for interrupting her faded away. It didn’t vanish, oh no, she suppressed it and hid it in a spot where, when she was big enough to actually do something, Lunakit would call it forth again and punish the interlopers. She just had quite a bit of growing and training to go first before she could do such a thing.
Yawning, the kit sat down closer to the two on the shore of the oasis, watching them with open disinterest.

Tsunami studied the kit that had snuck up on them. She was a rather lovely torotiseshell she-cat, one of the prettiest patterns Tsunami had ever seen. For a moment, it made her envy the kit, over her own solid-colored coat. Then she pushed it aside. It was unbecoming of a she-cat such as herself, to be jealous of anything. She had far too much pride.
"You're one of Sunsetfire's kits aren't you?" Tsunami asked.
"One of the leader's kits, wandering around by herself out here?!" Daemon exclaimed, as though the very thought horrified her. "A war's just ended, shouldn't you be in camp, where it's safe?!"
"She's leader's get you mousebrain!" Tsunami hissed, hauling herself out of the water and shaking off some tail lengths away from the other two. "If she were a little older, she'd probably be trying to order us around!"
Tsunami walked up to Lunakit and sat down in front of her. Her neon green eyes fixed on the bold, amber ones of the youngster. "So kit, are you here to give us something to do because your father seems to have forgotten we existed."

Give a cheer for all the b r o k e n Listen here cause it's who we are “Oh my, aren’t you the intelligent one.” Lunakit retorted back to the first cat, sarcasm finally lacing her voice. There was no fear of these two cats, and the kit probably wouldn’t have even been afraid if they weren’t members of the clan. Why be afraid of something? It was just a weakness, and weakness could crush a cat! Amber eyes flicked to the second, more timid, cat, narrowing at the very thought. Her, back at camp?
“I can take care of myself!” With a growl she flicked her tail lifting herself up proudly. But the sharp-tongue she-cat who had spoken previously spoke again, with stinging words. Ouch. The kit gave her a look that bordered along the line of being miffed in being compared in such a way – she wouldn’t order them around because her father was Sunsetfire. Oh no. “I’d order you around ‘cause I’d be better then you at doing it.” The first cat came out of the water, sitting in front of her.
Hell. Lunakit was half tempted to swipe her nose off. “Sounds like your problem, not mine. If you want to do something then go ask him, he’s trying to decide who to make the new deputy and medicine cat. Momma left, didn’t you hear?” Who hadn’t? “Maybe he’ll send you on patrol or something. Can’t be anything as exciting as the war but it’ll be something.” Open sarcasm again, but little Lunakit didn’t remember the war. She had been born during it, and only knew what other cats said about it.

Never were two cats more different...better suited to be friends...
Tsunami narrowed her eyes in anger. The kit's words hirt her like thorns in her side. How could she be so insolent to one she'd never even met?! A hiss escaped her throat and it was so tempting to bowl the kit over and give her a good wack in the head, but she didn't want to have to explain to Sunsetfire why his child came home with bruises. She kept her temper, but it was so difficult.
"You know so little kit...you weren't alive long enough to see the anguish I saw on that battlefield...so new to the forest I wasn't even aware of the cause..." she snarled. "You'd do well to hold your tongue in the presence of adults, especially one's who you know nothing about.
The blue-gray she-cat stood and turned abruptly away from the kit, speaking her final words without even turning her head.
"You don't know me...or the way I've suffered, so don't pretend to be above me..." Tsunami trotted away, back toward camp, leaving the kit to heed or ignore her warning.
Daemon watched as Tsunami left, not even calling for her to follow. She knew that her friend had been terribly hurt by the kit's words, to slink off on her own.
"You shouldn't have been so cruel to Tsunami... Daemon said, her eyes timid, but her words sounding sure. She faced the kit, her frenzied kiwi eyes set in sorrow. "She lost her entire family and her old home...she's trying to make a new life here, but in a Clan you seem to sort of fall through the cracks easily..."
Daemon shook off, swishing her fluffy tail from side to side, then followed Tsunami's trail back to StealthClan's camp.
