The blue Samoli she-cat moved quietly through the undergrowth, her ears pricked forward to listen for the smallest sounds. Her nerves were stretched taught, she had always heard about the wild cats that lived in the woods from her mother. She had always been curious about them, about the life her father had lived, and finally got up the nerve to go searching. She had already said her goodbuys to the Twolegs dog who had become her friend, and set off into the woods alone. She paused to sniff the air, mouth open and lips pulled back to allow the forest air brush against the scent gland in the roof of her mouth. She smelled nothing and saw nothing as she looked around in the bushes around her, hoping to see some sign of another cats presence. " Where could they be?" She murmered to herself, sitting down for the moment to wash her paws. She had always heard that wild cats filled the woods around her Twoleg home, but when she finally got up the nerve to go searching, she saw pelt nor paw of them.

Slumber wandered around, catching a smell of.. A cat..? How could that be in a forest? Cats lived with the twolegs. He HAD to find this other cat, or cats...
Putting his nose to the test, along with every other sense he had; he caught it, wandering slowly with claws out to the undergrowth which he could have sworn just talked!
Creeping up with every muscle being used to not make one sound, twice as quite as a mouse, he crouched, hoping maybe he'd just pounce on the life form in the undergrowth.

The she-cat paused in her washing, her whiskers sencing a presence nearby. She looked around, her keen eyes watching the forest around her, her tail twitching back and forth, betraying her nervousness. Her ears swiveled around, searching for some hint of the presence she felt, but heard nothing. She stood and turned to look behind her, still seeing nothing. "Hello?" she called into the forest, "Is someone there?" She spun around, starteled as a twig snapped from somewhere behind her. But she relaxed when she saw a mouse dash from one bush to another. " It was just a mouse." She said, feeling silly for getting so worked up over such a small and harmless creature.

Slumber froze when he saw the she-cat move. It was another cat; how would he approach this cat? Humph, he thought.. taking a moment to think of the situation in front of him. Suddenly twig snapping broke him from thinking, just a mouse..
Finally, he figured this she cat didn't seem like she'd be able to hurt him, if they ended up fighting.
So he sat up from his hiding spot;
"Um.. Hello... " With a quite awkward voice. Twitching his whiskers with his claws still out, just in case of course.
"I'm, er Slumber.." Giving the she-cat an up and down look.

Oh lord; this was about to not be a very good day at all. The old, wise deputy had thought it had started out well enough – at least he had managed to get out of camp to stretch his legs and take a patrol for himself, which with hovering clan mates and companions, hadn’t been the easiest thing to do as of late. But Blackheart was nearly healed; the wounds from the war fading to mirror those that marred his already scarred body – memories of an otherwise long, difficult life. That was then, however, and this was now. It was on this little patrol, making sure the boundaries of Amberstar’s territory were secure, when the duo scents of unfamiliar felines reached the old tom’s nose. He paused, one paw raised in the air as his head lifted, attempting to capture and triangulate where the scent were coming from before turning and heading directly in that direction.
Trespassers.
Not attempting to hide his presence from the other two felines, padding towards them in an open, direct manner that befitted and higher ranking feline within the clan, a low growl began low in his throat. It dilated and lengthened, becoming a lengthy, proper prelude to an all out war call – the rumbling yowl that could only bespoke of danger if they brought harm to his clan mates. It didn’t take long to find the two, a she-cat and a tom if their scents were correct, choosing to then cut the call short and give him his most grumpy old guy look.
Blackheart was not in the mood for stupidity, oh no, being old and grumpy was all the rage. He stopped in what he hoped to be clear view of both cats – although he couldn’t see the male that well at this time being considering he had just sat u a bit from what had been his hiding spot, before finally speaking. “You two better have good reasons for trespassing on Treeclan territory.” Yellow eyes flashed for a second, as he glanced between the two. “I don’t take kindly to hostile trespassers. If either of you are here looking to cause trouble, then you better start running. If you don’t, you’ll face me – and I’ll knock your skull in so hard you’ll be wearing it as a new tail.” A warning, but it would be a fair one – Blackheart’s loyalty could not accept no less in consideration for the safety of Amberstar and the clan. “Now, speak.” Yep, he had woken up on the wrong side of the warriors’ den this morning for certain.

Slumbers eyes grew wide.. Another cat? Where in the world are they coming from?
I NEVER should have came out of my hiding spot..!
He stared at the tom, winced at his words. It seemed as though a thorn was in his paw! So harsh, all he did was wondered here, unknown of this land being claimed!
He finally began to realize, he should speak; and spoke something for just himself, glancing over and the she-cat whom he still didn't know who she was because he was interrupted.
"I'm not here for a fight! I've come wandering as a loaner. It's not entirely my fault.." Pausing for a moment; If this land is claimed, I'm sorry for wandering off here; but may I ask whom this land has been taken by? I'm sure it wouldn't be you alone."
First he knew the tom said something about 'Treeclan', but what was that? Bah, his words were said, and he left it uncorrected. Then he drew his claws back in, relaxed as much as he could, so it wouldn't provoke anything unnecessary seeing as the tom was a lot larger then he was.

Ah, yes, it might be harsh…but really, Blackheart was being precautious. With the war fresh in memory, some of the enemy known to have survived, there was little point in taking such chances. Although the she-cat had yet to have spoken up, the male did, and that intense gaze turned to study him better. However, he felt that, at least currently, the stranger was speaking the truth. “Such things happen, and many of us must walk the path of a loner before finding a destiny in life. If you are not here to start any trouble, then it may be best if you both do tell my why, in fact, you happen to be here.” The old deputy looked between the two rogues, stretching his strong shoulder muscles a bit before sitting down. His tail curled around his paws as he considered his next words, “Treeclan is a strong clan, one of the four clans in this valley. We pride our strength and loyalty towards each other immensely. The clan is led by Amberstar, our leader, and myself; her deputy. If the two of your seek a home, perhaps I’ll allow you to stay – once I know where your true loyalties lie.”
Just the thing that Blackheart hated to do; but the clan did need new members. After the war…didn’t all the clans? Now was the time that Amberstar needed to pop in and take over – she wasn’t as gruff and grouchy as he was and would probably handle these cats with more finesse then what the bruiser was doing. “Hm, if that happens to be the case, I’ll need names, backgrounds…whatever you want to get out, get on with it.”
He didn’t have all day; there was a good patrol to be finishing up before he headed back to the main camp.

Slumber walked a bit closer so he didn't have to talk too loud; but not too close so he wouldn't pester the 'Deputy'. What a strange thing Slumber though, a clan, with a leader? He never heard of such a thing, but he could just tell the tom that was starting to sit wasn't lying, so he continued and replied fixing himself to sit also.
"I'm Slumber, I don't really remember much of my background, I don't know either of my father or mother I was living near some two-legs for awhile living off there scraps. Then they brought me here, dropped off around this area a few miles back.."
Flicking his tail in the direction behind him.
" I've been wandering for almost a moon or so now. I'm really unsure of what clans are - but a new home with a warm bed, and maybe a real meal would be really nice, but I would like to know what is required of me with this new hom- uh, clan of Amberstars, and yours."
Dipping his head almost to say that, he was to be loyal to what this tom would throw at him, surly the position this Deputy had to offer was far better then the situation Slumber was in; being alone never fit very well for him.

She had been suprised when the tom, 'Slumber' as he had called himself, had walked out of the bushes, but even more so when the powerful black tom revealed himself. One look at his scared body and she knew at once-this was one of the wild cats she'd heard about. She listened as the black tom spoke. “You two better have good reasons for trespassing on Treeclan territory.” 'Treeclan'? She had never heard of such a thing, but found herself to nervous to question him after he issued his threat. She thought it best to remain silent and see what Slumber had to say, since he seemed to be a wild cat himself, if not part of this 'Treeclan' the scarred tom spoke of. "I'm not here for a fight! I've come wandering as a loaner. It's not entirely my fault.." Pausing for a moment; If this land is claimed, I'm sorry for wandering off here; but may I ask whom this land has been taken by? I'm sure it wouldn't be you alone." 'So he is a wild cat!' She thought as she watched the two toms exchange words. She also noted how respectfully Slumber adressed the tom, and thought it wise for her to follow suite when it was her turn to speak. She listened closley as the black tom explained what the 'Treeclan' he had spoken of was, and as Slumber introduced himself and asked for a home. "My name is Lucy- i mean, thats what my twoleg calls me." she said, quickly remembering that she'd heard wild cats didn't favor twoleg cats, "My mother and i lived with our twoleg, i've lived with him all my life with my mother. Well, that is until my mother was killed by one of the animals in these woods when i was small." Lucy added with a sad note to her words, "She'd always said that my father was a wild cat, so i've desided to try and find out more about him and perhaps even become a wild cat like he was. And please forgive me for trespassing, i never knew that this was anyones land."

The moment that the male rogue padded a bit closer, Blackheart tensed and narrowed yellow eyes…but the tom was no fool. He stopped himself a respectful distance away, seating himself as well. Good. Ears pricked carefully forward, listening intently to Slumber’s words while keeping an eye on the female’s whereabouts. “A clan is a group of cats who band together for mutual survival and beliefs. We are, in essence, as close as a family – and do our duty to uphold the Warrior Code.” Lord, it was like teaching young kits about it – these two would certainly not be accepted as warriors right away. “Your loyalty will be expected of course – if you betray the clan the punishment will be severe. You must uphold the Warrior Code, which will be taught to you if you do not have any knowledge of it. If you have no, or little, fighting skills, you shall be taught them and rise in ranks from apprentice to warrior just as any other cat has. Do you understand?” It would not be an easy life, but there was no such thing as that in feral society now was there? “My name is Blackheart.”
Finally, the little female spoke up, and the deputy glanced her way. A kittypet, hm. “Lucy, hm? Do you think you are ready to leave the pampered life of a kittypet properly behind, and embrace the life of a clan cat? It will not be an easy road; nor even a safe one.” If she could not agree, if she felt too much fear, he would allow her to turn her back and walk away now. Best to weed out those not strong enough for this life before they entered the clan and ditched it when they realized that it wasn’t all dreams.

\ Slumber liked the sound of it. Almost as if it was a new challange for him to live up too. He liked the idea of being a warrior, with a family that would accept him, and be proud of what he did. New things learned everyday about the Treenclans way of, life.
Slumber twitched his whiskers, and nodded, he made up his mind in a matter of only a few seconds; he wanted to join this clan and live by a warrior code.
"Blackheart."Dipping his head once more. "I accept to uphold the warrior code, and earn my ranks in the Treeclan. I'd love nothing more then to be treated equal amongst your clan. Life as a loaner isn't one I want to follow, not as long as I know there are clans. I wont disapponit Amberstar, you, or the Treeclan."
Lifting his head he blinked a few times trying to gain the stare of the black tom, Blackheart; almost trying to study him and what he might be thinking. Slumber was unsure if this was enough to say.He was hoping Blackheart was convinced that Slumber was true to his word to the last breath of it. Slumber was still young, and willing to work hard for everything.
Almost forgetting about the she-cat, he looked over and twitched his tail her way almost reaching he shoulder; as if to say hello and that he still didn't forget she was there and that he wanted to say hello.

Lucy listened to Blackheart's words to Slumber, but when he spoke to her she paused for a moment to really consider it. Did she really want to leave her Twoleg and go into the woods with these wild cats? Almost as soon as she thought it, something deep within her provided the undeniable answer. " Yes, i do Blackheart. I see now that this is the path i have to follow, that this is the right thing for me to do. And i promise to stay loyal to the clan and uphold the Warrior code too." Lucy said, doing her best to look the tom in the eye, hoping something resembling determination shone in her own. Then, seeing Slumber greeting, she made sure to twitch her tail in acknowledgment of it.

Glancing back over to Blackheart; he waited for a reply; hoping for a good reply. His heart started to beat a little bit faster, in excitement, and nervousness.

Blackheart rolled his shoulders for a moment, the freshest scars that laced his fur pulling enough for him to wince for a second – fresh memories of such a damaging battle – before be fully considered the two before him. The male, Slumber, was potentially of more use to the clan…but there was nothing to be said that kittypets could not make a name for themselves when joining their wild brethren. Shinzui, although naïve and weak at first, had proven to be a true, loyal, and valued member to Treeclan before she had passed into Starclan; a respected and missed warrior. Even so, the deputy looked to be quite on the edge of staying no, of sending these two loners on their way, before he raised a brow and said, “Alright; Lucy, Slumber. I’ll give you both a chance. Do not make me regret this decision.” No formal, fancy words for this...but what in the world had he signed himself up for? The old black tom rose to his paws and turned, his tail flicking and beckoning the two to follow him. “I’ll show you to camp. There; you’ll meet your leader and other clan members – if Amberstar chooses to hold a meeting then you could, possibly, be given mentors and become real apprentices. Until then, and she makes that decision, you’ll…” Blackheart paused, glancing back at the two cats. “Well, I suppose you both are a bit too big to sleep in the nursery with the queens and kits. You’ll remain with the clan’s elders – and listen and follow what they ask and say.” He did expect them to speak out against that, at the very least, but the clan’s respect wasn’t given.
They would have to earn it properly.

Almost leaping up with excitement, Slumber thought it'd be best to get up normally; he was thrilled, almost like a new kit. Finally he wouldn't be alone, and able to live for something, and maybe someone. He wasn't going to let Amberstar nor Blackheart down.
He got up, and padded along, well, behind, Blackheart; glancing at Lucy to see if she was following. Turning back he watched the black tom move, his shoulders and all the scars must have had some much of a story behind them; and terrible memories. He blinked a few times, then decided he wasn't going to just stare at the tom and run into a tree and start off looking like a mouse-brain.
Slumber continued on, hearing birds with there alarming calls as he padded to the soon-to-be new home; Treeclan.

Lucy nearly yowled with excitement at Blackheart's words, but she managed to maintain her composure. Finally she would be a real warrior like her father had been! She rose from her seated position to quickly follow Blackheart and Slumber. She could see that Slumber was excited as well, and was glad that she wasn't going to be the only one new to Treeclan and that she would have someone who was learning just as she was. She didn't glance back toward the past, she instead looked to the future, her eyes filled with determination and hope as she followed the great wild cat and, hopefully, her new found friend, toward her new home in Treeclan.
OoC: Well, I'd say this thread is closed, wouldn't you? So i guess one of us starts a new thread in Treeclan territory? *doesn't really know since she isn't an experienced RPer*
