A big tortoiseshell she-cat settled down with a grunt between the roots of a stunted tree. Her belly was swollen with unborn kits, and she knew the time was near. She grunted again, and shifted uncomfortably. Why did being pregnant have to be so painful?
Wardreamshadow. Wrongfully named by a mother who thought this she-cat would grow up like her other litters - to love battles.
Wardreamshadow shifted again. She just couldn't get herself comfortable. Come on, kits, she growled silently. I'm ready; aren't you?
As if in answer, Wardreamshadow's belly clenched painfully and she moaned. The kits were coming.
Hallelujuah, the kits are coming.
OOC: There are going to be two kits, a tom and a she-kit, and I plan to keep the tom. The tom's name is going to be Catnipwhisker, and the she-kit will be Silverglass. You can reply to this thread OOC and ask for Silverglass.

OOC: Fwee, I'm going back to seperate accounts xD I've decided to give up Catnipwhisker. Too many kitties for me. I don't have the capacity that Umber does to RP so many cats xD ALSUU, I don't suppose some one would be willing to make a pretty avatar for me? Perhaps, a few avatars? xD
As the sun set slowly, two kits mewled helplessly as they suckled from their now scrawny mother. Wardreamshadow was not the she-cat with the swollen belly that she had been for what felt like forever. She now gazed proudly and lovingly at the two kits that had just weighed so much in her belly.
One kit was a pretty silver she-cat, her paws and tail fading to white. She reminded the tortoiseshell queen of Whitefur, her father. The other, a tom, was a brown tabby, like his grandmother, Oakfeather. Wardreamshadow thought of names for the two, and came up with perfect ones.
"You will be Silverglass," Wardreamshadow purred to the small she-kit, "and you are Catnipwhisker." As she mewed their names over and over to the small helpless scraps of fur, the tortoiseshell she-cat dreaded what they might become. Would they become like Bane, the murderous leader of BoneClan that she had heard of so many times? Or, would they be perfect little angels?

[Hehe. ^^
I can attempt to make you some avatars, if you happen to like any of mine. All are made with paint though, so I cannot add in animation. ><
Just tell me what you’d like, and I’ll do my best to make it. ^^
Mrr, and I’ll make an account for Silverglass as soon as my e-mail decides to start working again.]

OOC: I love your avatars, Umber! But I won't get you to make too many...at once xD For now, I just want two - One for Bristlekit and one for Wardreamshadow. For Bristlekit: I'd just like a cat eye. I'll check Bristle's eye colour in a sec. For Wardreamshadow: Cat eye, again. Wardream's eyes are yellow. Perhaps it could be somewhat like Underworld's? I believe it's Underworld's, I have to check.

Ooc: Murr... Umber, would you be willing to make Rift an avatar? ^^; I tried but couldn't find any that would go well D: Don't have to if you don't want to. Black feathers went unheard as she circled above, tiny black eyes lazily watching the mircle of life. Her compainion, Rift, was not very far away, and was watching her for signal of prey. She turned her head to him, and dipped in her flight deeply before gaining height again, showing him she had found something. As he started moving towards her, the crow tilted her black wings and flew lower, but not low enough to catch easyily. She was a good ten feet off the ground.
Rift was closer now, close enough to get to her quickly just in case. Grit landed, beaty eyes looking at the kits and their mother with soft understanding. She cawed and ruffled her feathers, hopped once, and looked directly into the she-cats eyes.

ooc| Umburr! Tis beautiful ;D But for some reason, when I try to copy and paste the URL into the avatar URL space, it only puts the first three characters... I'll try again a bit later.
ic| As the tortoiseshell she-cat gazed lovingly at her newborn kits and licked them, she heard the caw of a crow. But - what? The crow spoke cat?
"H-hello, crow," Wardreamshadow mewed nervously. Was this bird going to try to hurt Silverglass and Catnipwhisker? Dear StarClan, if it did, she'd kill it slowly and then eat its remains, no doubt about it.
"Who are you?" she demanded, though not before summoning up some courage. "Would you like something with m - us?" The she-cat, whose kits were now nursing hungrily from her belly, had almost forgotten that she had a family now. Kits to love and care for. If the crow had something to say to one of them, they had something to say to all of them.

Had Grit no beak, she might have grinned. The queen had no need to fear her, but then again, she didn't know that.
"No, 'itte. I 'ant nothin'. My nam' is Grit. Rift ca' is 'oming."
She dipped her head slowly, then hopped forward a few steps and looked at the kits curiously, before her eyes darted to the queen, and Grit lifted her head to show her throat, giving clear meaning she meant no harm.
"Grit? There is no pr-- Oh."
The handsome brown tom came through the grass in search of his feathered friend, but then he saw the queen. Quickly dipping his head low, he shot an reproachful glare at Grit, before lifting his head to look at the she-cat.
"I am sorry to have intruded. I did not know. To make up for this, is there anything you need? I apologize if Grit is being a nuisance."

Yellow eyes darted from bird to cat. Wardreamshadow giggled foolishly like a lovestruck teenager when she saw the tom that had waltzed by, apparently looking for prey with his comrade.
"Hello, Grit," the tortie she-cat meowed calmly once she had gotten over her giggling. "Might you tell me your name?" she added, looking at the tom and tipping her head to the side.
This tom was pretty handsome. Handsomer than her last mate; that stupid rogue she had blindly mated with. But it was all okay now, because Silverglass and Catnipwhisker had entered this world without having to stare at the ugly face of their disturbed father.
Wardreamshadow nuzzled Catnipwhisker; the small tomkit seemed to be bullying Silverglass a bit. "No, no, Catnipwhisker," the tortoiseshell she-cat whispered. "Be nice to Silverglass."
ooc| Yes, she likes 'im xD

Rift was silent as the she-cat giggled and while she greeted Grit, all the while not noticing the crow's eyes narrowing supisiously at the other female. At her question, his ears pointed up to full attention.
"My name isn't important in the situtation, and for that, I apoligize. The main priority at the moment is helping you and your kits. Do I have permission to catch you a meal enough for all of you?"
He wasn't implying she was fat, no, not at all, but more or less using pural of you, meaning she and the kits. Rift listened for an answer, sometimes too proud a cat will not accept help. The tom didn't know if this queen was like that, and he was also oblivious to the fact Grit wasn't impressed with that giggling. Being male, Rift couldn't pinpoint the meaning behind some actions, and also his crow friends affection towards him.
Silly boi.
Ooc: I don't think Grit is impressed with this fact XD

Yellow eyes searched in the tom's, looking for a sign of emotion. 'Enough food for all of you...' Wardreamshadow knew that the handsome tom meant all three of them - her and the kits. The kits who were now sleeping soundly against the tortoiseshell she-cats belly.
"Yes, go ahead; I won't be able to hunt until I can teach the kits to," Wardreamshadow mewed. Thinking that it would be a good time to introduce them, she began speaking again.
"This she-kit is Silverglass," the tortie loner flicked her tail at the silver she-kit, "and this is Catnipwhisker. When will your name be of importance? Because I sure as anything can't just call you 'tom' for the rest of the time I know you."
Wardreamshadow looked curiously at this tom, while she felt Grit's eyes on her like the fires of hell. She supposed that the crow didn't like her, and didn't like the fact that the tortoiseshell she-cat liked the tom.
Isn't young adult cat behaviour fascinating?

"Very well, I shall be back soon. Coming, Grit?"
He called to the crow, as she looked away from the she-cat, eyes instantly softening upon looking at Rift.
Of course, Rift was oblivious to that too.
He drank in the names the queen gave him, saving them, savoring them, as if afraid to lose them also. As his compainion took to the sky, and Rift to the grass once more, he turned his brown head to look at the queen, dipping it slightly in respect to her, and her question.
"... My name is unimportant. I may not be around forever, or even that long, for a fact, it would be pointless to learn my name, then have me disappear so soon. But I can see your logic, you may call me whatever you wish, I shall respond to all."
And with these words, his shimmering pelt disappeared into the grass.

A sigh escaped from Wardreamshadow's mouth. A happy sigh; the tom seemed oblivious to the fact that Grit and herself were having a silent little "spat". But then, he also seemed oblivious to the fact that the tortoiseshell she-cat really liked him.
"Fine; I will call you 'Prince Charming', for that is what I see when I look at you," Wardreamshadow whispered, not loud enough for the tom's acute hearing to pick up. Sure, Wardreamshadow may be the little drama queen, but what she-cat doesn't like to be?
Silverglass and Catnipwhisker were back to their feeding. They sure like to eat, the tortoiseshell queen mused. Her kits took after her in that way - she loved to eat and they couldn't get enough food. But would the tom get enough food to really satisfy Wardreamshadow's immense hunger? She thought not, and she grinned.

Grit snapped her beak, the nerve of that cat! Moving in on her boy! Well, she was now determented to rub that she was wayy better than that 'pretty kitty'. Ha! Grit was better than her! Girt could fly, for one.
A rabbit was soon spotted through those black eyes, and she swerved towards it. Her companion below saw this, and got ready, just in time for the crow to release a warning caw and turning sharply towards Rift. The rabbit saw and heard this, and darted in the direction Grit was going.... Right into Rift's awaiting claws.
Now the crow gave an alarmed caw, panic clearly in it. A hawk had been hunting the rabbit too, and now its' prey was stolen?! It dived towards Rift, who had been warned just in time by his friend.
The tom dodged the outstretched talons, though they still managed to graze his shoulder as he leaped out of the way. Before it could fly away, Grit was on it, tearing at the feathers and eyes with her beak, giving Rift time to leap.
He landed square on it's back, driving the angry raptor into the ground. It fluttered and tried to remove him and snap at the crow at the same time, but the movements quickly cease as Rift's fangs connected with the spine.
----A little while later----
He came through the grass and into the opening were the new mother was waiting, hawk and rabbit stuffed in his mouth, a large mouse in Grit's feet, which she had killed herself.
Rift walked forward and dropped the fresh-kill by her paws, so she would not have to go far to get it, then dipped his head.
"Will this be enough to sustain you? If not, you can have the mouse aswell, otherwise me and Grit will share it.
" With this, he looked up, awaiting her answer before he even sat to clean his wound.
Grit landed, dropping her mouse, then took up glaring at the queen once more, eyes blazing like a demonic fire.
Ha! Grit was better then the she-cat, and always would be.

As her 'Prince Charming' padded through the bright red sun's setting rays, he looked like a ghost. He carried with him a hawk and a rabbit, and Grit held in her beak a mouse. He spoke so politely; 'Will this be enough to sustain you?' Wardreamshadow sighed lazily.
"It's more than enough. You and Grit have the mouse; we can all share the rabbit, perhaps?" the tortoiseshell she-cat purred. Such a gentleman! Grit, however, seemed to think of herself as a better soulmate for the handsome tom she had been travelling with. Ha! A bird and a cat? How preposterous! It was just silly.
Wardreamshadow reached over to a tree and clawed some moss off of it. She gathered the moss into a large nest that would fit herself and the kits, and then got up and picked up the hawk. Thinking that if they were to share the rabbit, she should be closer, she moved the nest - dragging the kits along - closer to the tom and Grit.
The tortoiseshell queen felt a little bit awkward and uncomfortable under the crow's menacing glare. Wait - why was she so scared? Wardreamshadow could kill Grit with ease! She was only a bird, after all, and many a time had the slender she-cat eaten crows for all three meals of a day. But something was different about Grit, and not only the fact that she could speak cat...
