Life is wasted on the living.
She entered the barren plains with a mission. To find Bane and enter his BoneClan.
Copper-green hues scanned the field dismissively. If she was to live here, BoneClan's camp had better be nice.
Ah, Dawn. Sleek, pretty murderer.
If Dawn was to find BoneClan, she should do it quietly. She'd heard tales of cats galavanting in and being killed...Dawn was the murderer, not the victim.
"Bane..."
Her voice was only the softest whisper, but the name rang in her mind like bells.

Only a whisper, but Bane had heard it. The soft, callous whisper that echoed his name across the land. That whisper.... spelt murder.
"And what can I do for you, fair lady?"
Bane whispered also, his voice smooth, almost handsome, yet always with the stench of blood written across it. Usually Bane got mad when strangers entered his land without an invite, but if it were a fae who smelt of murder, he could allow it ge guessed. The brute sleekly moved from behind her, letting his tail tip touch her tail gently before walking around until their faced. It was there that he sat, his usual air around him.

More whispers, but not her own?
"Ah, Bane."
Her voice was silky smooth, like a trickle of honey. Her tail was lightly caressed by his, and as she looked back to call 'who's there,' no cat was there. But she slowly turned her head to focus her gaze ahead of her, and there he was.
Bane.
"BoneClan...I've come to join you."
Her voice was now a bit louder, clear and steady. Her dark gray tail swooshed as she sat and curled it about her paws, tipping her head to the side just slightly. Thinking now would be an appropriate time to introduce herself, she leaned forward slightly in a bow, not taking her copper-green hues off of the muscular black tom that stood before her.
"I am Dawn."
Ooc: Heh, small awkwardness for Baney-kitty? 'Cause I read Bane's character description and apparently, he had a sister named Dawn O.o

(ooc| Yeah, but he killed her xD I think so, anyway.)
Dawn?
Dawn. Dawn. Dawn.
The name swept around Bane's mind as though in the endless cycle of a washing machine.
Oh yeah. He thought he recognised that name.
But this she-cat... she was not his sister. She did not hold herself like the spawn of Bane's father would hold herself. She held not the scent of one of Bane's siblings.
And Bane was not a believer of ghosts.
He'd killed dear Dawn, watched as crows feasted on her carcass.
No, this Dawn was no sister of Bane.
But that did not distract Bane from his interest in her want for access to BoneClan.
"Glad to hear it, young fae. Yet acceptance is not simply handed out."
Pause.
"Tell me why you think you are worthy of the title 'BoneClanner' above your pretty little head?"

A smirk curled the lips of the assassin.
"How many true killers - ones who long for blood each and every waking - and sleeping - hour does BoneClan have?"
Her face grew solemn and she shook her head.
Regally.
Her ears were pinned to her skull. Dawn was ready for a fight.

"Enough."
Bane replied simply, admitting to himself that the number of actual members was not the same number as the true killers BoneClan owned. But killing was not the only skill Bane treasured.
"Why?"
He asked, wondering why such a question was brought upon. He noted her ears, pinned to her skull as if expecting Bane to move. But Bane didn't feel like moving. Energy needn't be wasted, but why tell her that? It was interesting to see how she reacted when the possibility of an attack was upon her.
"Do you doubt us?"

"Ooh, of coouurse not!"
Her smile returned, but her ears remained plastered to her higher neck fur.
Dawn stood her ground, not flinching even at Bane's stare.
"Just thinking - are any as good as me?"
Modest enough, Dawny-dear?
Of course she wasn't the best assassin BoneClan had ever seen.
She just hadn't seen any better, and Dawn had seen quite a few assassins in her time.
"But maybe they are. But the more assassins you have..."
She paused, the serious expression returning once again.
"The more cats will live in fear of you. Isn't that what you want?"

"Fear is not the right word."
He said simply. No, Bane didn't want to be feared. Scourge had wanted to be feared, but Bane was not so pathetic as Scourge had been. BloodClan was the result of inbreeding, according to Bane's theory. They were scraping the bottom of the gene pool. No, fear wasn't something to be proud of.
"I want respect, for both me and my clan. I want to prove that sometimes evil does overrule good. To prove that StarClan was an idea the clans created for them to feel safe, when in fact every waking moment of their lives they are vulnerable. I want to prove that the world is not such a magical land of playing kits and happy families."
He stopped, staring through Dawn to something fae in the distance. He brought his gaze back onto her after a while, though, and gave a short snort.
"That's what I do. It's what was pumped into my brain since birth. Assassins are hated, as the clan cats think death is something bad. Yet my assassins work to help others. To help them escape such a divisive world, to not heaven, not StarClan, but to some far off place where you can live not feeling happiness or joy, but at the same time, not feeling sadness or depression. Is that not a perfect world? Where emotions do not affect your judgement. Where you are finally free from the restrictions that a living cat has to live with."
He'd rambled. But Dawn had touched on a subject Bane felt strongly about. He observed the she-cat, not doubting her skill as an assassin as her body was certainly that of fighting stamina. But was her mind in the right frame?
"I can only truly accept you, if you feel similarly to myself. If you are willing to help the pathetic cats who think death is something to be feared, and let them see that in fact, death is something to be honored and respected. Are you?"
ooc| This probably made no sense xDDD

A flick of her tail.
"...Yes."
His speech had touched her.
"And if not to your standards, I can learn."
She sat, her guard still up for a fight, but more relaxed. Bane didn't seem to want to fight her, and frankly, Dawn didn't want to fight either.
The she-cat was on the brink of begging.
But Dawn was not the type to beg.

What was that?
A smile?
No, it couldn't be!
"You remind me of my sister..."
If it had been a smile, it had vanished now.
"Feel free to explore your new home."
The large tom stood, making as if to leave, strolling casually past the she-cat into the shadows beyond.
But just before he vanished, he spoke once more. His voice sincere, more serious than he normally was.
"Bear in mind I take betrayal seriously - sometimes death isn't the worst punishment for it, either."
And with that, another shadow was added to the collection.

A smile and more flicks of the tail.
"Thank you, Bane."
She turned, not completely turning her back, but walked away.
ooc - To somewhere |3
