Greywood Academy is a prestigious academy in the Colorado country. It is just outside of San Juatson, Colorado, a small forest town. The students at the Academy are a mixed basket, whether they be punk, Goth, prep, or nerd, it’s up to them. The staff at GWA doesn’t play favorites usually, but nothing has ever stopped them before. The classes focus on Science, Literature, and History, the favorites of their founder Marcus Greywood, a local banker who stumbled upon an ad for a plot of land being sold by the acre for $50.00 from a local church. He investigated it, and soon had built a house on a small plot of land hardly an acre in size. When his daughter died in the Influenza epidemic, he was devastated, but he offered his home to the cause, they turned it into a sick house. Over 200 people of all ages died in his foyer. He had buried his only daughter, Abigail in a small fenced in area on another acre of land that he purchased in the midst of the epidemic. He now owned over 400 acres of this land, but his grave for his daughter was on the furthermost acre.
Years later, Marcus Greywood began to add onto his enormous mansion, which by the 1870’s was beginning to grow out until it covered four acres, but he was alone, save for the rare sighting of the ghost of his Abigail. He began to plan out an academy, for all high school students who had wanted to experience the Colorado Countryside. And that’s what he did; he turned his home into Greywood Academy, GWA for short.
Now almost one hundred twenty years later, Greywood Academy is still holding strong, but no one knows the mystery behind this historic school. Will someone ever find the tiny house that used to belong to the founder or what about the graveyard holding Abigail and some of the Epidemic victims in its iron gates? We will find out soon enough, won’t we?
