[ stay-at-home-cats thread xD remember that more than 95% of RisingClan is at the battle. ]sight unseen.
The air was charged, vivid with scents and emotions. The wind was dying off and the summer-hot sunlight was inching back. Slowly, night was coming on.
Here, in the serenity of the RisingClan camp, the kits slept fitfully in their soft moss beds. There, on the wide and winddriven plains of the battlefield, lines were being drawn.
It was actually too quiet, Kanji decided. She was used to the murmering sounds of many voices, the rustlings of many comings and goings that formed Clan life--but now most of RisingClan's forces were away from their home, readying themselves for war. Kanji was blind. She did not fight.
The blind kitwatcher wished she could see the stars. Although RisingClan was strong, she could not help but fear the BoneClan's force.
Gyoukou tsuki maro, tanechigai Amaterasu, she thought, looking at the sky with sightless eyes.

I think rather than getting involved in a war, Checkmate might stay behind. After many hours' thought, Checkmate had made a decision. He stayed, rather than going after the Risingclan cats. Yes, he owed them for taking him and the others in when they were injured. But he didn't think he needed to get involved in their war.
So instead, he stayed behind with the blind she-cat who'd found them first. He supposed he could just leave, but there was enough time for being a lone rogue later- right now he'd repay his debt to this clan. Then perhaps he would leave.

Too quiet, but Bluerage was not paying attention to the air or the ongoings of the war. She was restless... She lay on her stomach in the den, her shifting movements the only noise in the quiet camp. Finally, with a subdued sigh, so got to her feet, stubs seeming to roll out of her large belly that hung just half inches from the ground. She trod out of the den, feeling too claustrophobic in that tiny little hole in the ground, and sat down in the clearing. She gave a sad and troubled sigh as she looked skyward. Pink. An ominous sign, surely. That was the last thing she needed, with her mate at war and her kits sure to come anytime. Her eyes were troubled and unclear, her tail twitching and her signs coming in ragged breaths, but she looked otherwise healthy and not about to give birth at the moment. It just caused her much pain... She hoped Crisp was okay, and it took every particle of strength to stop her from running out onto the field now.

Kanashimi, a friend of Kanji's and another nursery hand, entered the camp edgily, a wad of borage in her mouth - for Bluerage. She had watched Juniper in the medicine den so that she could help with the kitting, and Juniper had said: Borage for helping queens get their milk. The Japanese Bobtail nodded to herself, mouthing the words to herself as she dropped the leaves on the ground outside the nursery. The scents of Kanji, Bluerage, Checkmate, and milk wafted around her. As the blue tabby queen came out of the nursing den, Kanashimi let out a soft, rumbling purr. "Bluerage!" she mewed. The nursery hand nodded to the queen, then let out a mew of surprise. "Borage!" she squeaked, then shook her head. "Borage leaves, right there; you should eat," Kanashimi purred, making things more clear to the she-cat whose first language was English - unlike the Bobtail, whose first language was Japanese.
She slipped into the nursing den, her ears flicking back and forth, where Kanji was. "Konichiha," Kanashimi purred in their native language. "Wingkit is sick." With a glance at the young white she-kit and a sniff of the air the Japanese she-cat could tell. "I go get herbs?" Her tail flicked. Wingkit let out a loud sneeze, then a pained groan. Kanashimi darted over to the kit and nuzzled her comfortingly. "You are okay," she murmured softly. "I will make you better."
[Wingkit is just an extra kit that Pripyat can kill ^^]

sight unseen.
The atmosphere was subdoed and tense as night came on. Kanji would taste her Clanmate's worry.
Kestrel's blind half-sister descended from the ledge upon which she stood, stepping with an easy grace for a cat without sight. It was clear that she had placed her paws along that ledge many times before.
"They will be fine," she meowed, trying to sound as if she had no doubts. "Their all...allli...friends, bigger than BoneClan's." She groped for the word 'alliance' but failed. She shifted her paws, feeling the dust shift through her fur. "They will be fine." she repeated.
Kanji pointed her nose at Bluerage. Her blank, clouded eyes were nontheless soft with sympathy and friendly concern. "You ok?" she inquired. "Kits come soon? Much pain? I hope not." [/blockquote]
