Dreary toil.
Pawsteps grew weary with every passing moment. And her pace sluggish with tire.
The young sister of Farwing tread upon Risingclan land, unaware of the scent markers, nor that they had traveled onto another cat's territory.
Rogue's dodged back and forth behind her back.. Hungry, waiting for the two kits to collapse. Then the feast could begin.
She remained silent, uncomplaining to her older companion, for she was the one who started on this journey in search of her mom.
Her eyes gazed with hazy hues across the seemingly desolate land.. Almost like a desert as the sun whipped heat across her tawny and white back.
Perhaps they looked familiar.. Perhaps it was mere coincidence they looked similar to a certain amber leader.
But what was more was that they were lost. Lost. ((Sorry if it was like powerplaying for ya Umber!! o_0 I just decided to help you introduce him, plus they were traveling together as it was. It would have been odd not to have mentioned him. owo Don't spark me too hard!! -gigglesnort- ))

He padded alongside his sister, ambery-golden pelt bright against the pure white of his muzzle, extending down to his stomach. The darker, gingery tiger stripes peppering his pure coat, set out the shocking gold of his eyes.
Unlike his sister, he still had a step of energy in his paws, and the rogues which followed them in hopes in feasting on their fallen forms did nothing to halt the cheerful smile of his face. Farwing moved, lightly nudging his sister’s shoulder.
“C’mon c’mon!”

She let out a sullen sigh as she plopped to her rear, not believing at all how he still managed energy in his light built muscles.
Brother, I cannot. Let me rest. She said meekly, and with a sigh she looked into the blazing sun, squinting her eyes. Where are we, I havn't seen another cat for miles. She turned her head to look over her dusty grey and orange shoulder, shuddering as the other cats prowled over the side of the hill, tail twitching with anticipation.
Or at least cats that are not preparing for a cannibal feast. She snapped dryly, huddling against the shade of the arch of her own back, closing her eyes for a dreary moment.
Do you think this is where... Are mom even is...? She asked sleepily, looking up at her brother with some hope. The heat, although taking a toll on her, was making her drowsy.
..Especially with lack of sleep on both their parts.
Maybe somebody will find us out here.. She mewed, almost silently, and she got to her feet and continued.

He pressed his flank against hers, silently willing her to continue on – to keep moving.
“I’m sure there are other cats, not mean ones like those bozos, out there! There has to be!”
Farwing smiled, nudging her lightly again. Hey, they couldn’t both be sullen and quiet; life wouldn’t be so much fun if so!
“Momma….she had reasons to leave us. I know it….somewhere in my heart. We’ll find out. We’ll learn.”

She cast a glare over her shoulder and shuddered, just imagining what those cats were capable of once she fell. With the help of her brother and her silent own will, she pressed forward.
She narrowed her eyes at the desolate ground beneath her feet as it passed, tail flicking dismissively.I believe that not. She had better matters to attend to... Better than us She mewed, closing her eyes to think.
What else mother would abandon her kits to run off once more..? [/sub]

You'll never take me alive
Kestrel knew what it was to be tired: so tired you felt that another step would surely kill you, so tired you ached, so tired your limbs fell away beneath your weight and you could not stand.
Kestrel knew exhaution.
These cats had not yet reached their ends. There was still strength in them.
From her perch atop a high hillside, Kestrel could see scraggly rogues slipping through the brush, awaiting the fall of the two unfamilliar cats. Kestrel's fur began to rise. These rogues had no place on her land.
But these young cats...maybe they did. They certainly did not look like cats who were up to causing trouble.
Making up her mind, Kestrel launched herself from her hiding place, flying across the blue sky in a miraculously high jump and landing neatly on the slope. She skidded down and stopped beside the cats.
"Hello," she meowed evenly, and continued with her trademark line: "What business have you here?"

“Maybe she did. We don’t know, now do we?”
With a smile, the bright young tom made as if to bound cheerfully ahead of his sister, but then the flying kestrel landed in front of him, causing him to skid to a halt.
Kestrel?
No, it was another cat, one who held herself with dignity and fierce pride. His smile lit up that young face, as he bowed his head in respect to the adult female.
“We’re lookin’ for our mom and…”
At that, he glanced back at his sister.
“…and maybe a home too.”

You'll never take me alive
Kestrel nodded, lowering her guard further. "A home I can supply," she meowed courteously. "As for your mother...do you know anything about her? Mayhaps I have crossed her path in my travels."

She gathered herself up and arched her back in defense, ears back. She seemed not to intend to attack, but as she offered a home, she relaxed and watched between her brother and Kestrel.
We've nothing on our mother. She abandoned us as kits, left us to our surregate mother. Only she knows our mother, but she won't tell us. She blinked away regret at leaving the white she-cat behind, but her eyes grew more noble as she stood up, tail flicking.
A home sounds nice. What be the cost of staying with you and your kin? She asked warily. Perhaps it was her expression, or perhaps it was the way she spoke her words, or just the words she spoke, it had to have struck an idea in her head. Something familiar, perhaps. But scents could not be detected, for she merely scented of a single she-cat.
She turned to her brother, waiting for his approval

“We don’t…”
But then Coppersong continued on, and Farwing went quiet. Ah, quietness…such a rare feat for the boisterous young tom. But then his sister looked at him.
A home…
He wanted a home…
With a laugh, Farwing nodded brightly in agreement.
“Coppersong’s right! If the deal’s good, we’d be glad to stay here!”
Maybe it was the fire of life that burned within his golden eyes that sparked familiarity. Maybe it was the way he moved, the way he balanced his weight.
But like his sister, the young tom was familiar in that same, odd way.

You'll never take me alive
Past a certain point, Kestrel's memory was flawless; that was why she had no trouble at all placing who it was these young cats reminded her of. Could it be...? Of course, it would make sense...
Kestrel shook away the thoughts; she could brood over them later. Now, she had warriors to accept. "The price," she meowed grandly, "Would be your loyalty and care. RisingClan has pledged war with BoneClan; we will wipe them from the Meadow. They have raped and killed and darked the hearts of many; we will remove their shadow. If you will fight for us, then you will have a home to support you forever."
