Smokepaw's injuries had completely healed, he was out now, trying to catch some lunch, maybe catch in intruder? That would please Sabrestar. Caught up in his thoughts, crouching in the wheat stalks, he almost didn't see the fat field mouse that wandered right in front of him, nibbling on a few grains. He didn't move until the very last second, batting the mouse on the right, it flew through the air. He hit it hard in the air with his left paw, killing it instantly, catching it in his mouth just before it hit the ground. Smokepaw covered it with a bit of dirt and sand......maybe add a thrush to it and it would be a worthy catch for the fresh-kill pile...

Snowstripe couldn't help but feel guilty as she moved the party onward to Duskclan territory. She sighed to herself, shaking her head. This was a bad idea, she could sense it. She paused at the edge of the wheat fields, eyes skimming over the golden flows of the crop as it waved back and forth. It mesmerized her, and she reluctantly snapped from watching it. She looked behind her shoulder at Brindlepaw. Go ahead, young one. Call your friend

Dragonpelt stood beside Snowstripe, ready to assist her should she need it. He was not sure if she would be in top fighting condition after so recently recovering from her near fatal poisoning.

Loveless stood beside his clanmates, unnaturally silent. His mind was on the black tom...Blackheart? That was his name, right? Oh well. He didn't understand what the tom didn't like about him.
He yawned, disliking how silent this terra was. It was as if the dead were the onyl thing that walked, and that sent a shiver down his spine. Well, Duskclan was well know to be violent and strong warriors. Hopefully they only ran into the one Brindlepaw was seeking.

The she-cat sighed with a grouchy growl. She just wanted this expedition to be over.. She was tired, and her stability from the 'oil' accident was acting up for her again. Brindlepaw, what was the name of your friend again? Smokepaw? She asked quietly, laying down with a slouch. She looked up and frowned at Loveless. His sudden and silent nature had caught her off guard, and she eyed him with concern. You okay there, Loveless?

In surprise at Snowstripe's sudden words, Loveless took a step back, flattening his ears.
"I'm just fine. Just...thinking."
It wasn't too hard to know what he was thinking, his face was always an open book to others. He just couldn't hide hsi thoughts or feelings.

Don't worry about Blackheart. I'm sure he's just another odd cat ready to shoot someone down. I bet he was looking at you because.. because.. Erm, you had a... Booger in your nose? She said, trying to lighten the mood with stupid guesses. Starclan knows WHY he was giving him that kind of look, but it wasn't worth destroying a happy personality over!
Think happier thoughts then! C'mon! She said brightly, picking up her own mood along the way.

“*gasp* Noooo! Not a boogie!”
Loveless swiped at his nose a few time, laughing in good humor and back to his typical jolly self.
[Oh goodness, that one's short. ><]

As soon as he took a good hearted swipe at his nose, she laughed and swatted his arm softly. No, no Loveless! The bat's stay in the cave! She said with a good natured laugh, hoping he'd catch her drift.

The black and white tom almost rolled with laughter at that one.
"Snowstripe...you're evil! You killed me!"
He lay sprawled on the ground, poorly mimicing a death choke.

She glared down at him as an evil smirk crossed over her expression. Glad to hear it. And with that, she gave an attempt at an evil and maniacal laughter, only to fail miserably.
The idea made her laugh. Here they were, at the borders to the meanest clan to set foot on this valley floor.. And here they were making booger comments at eachother! The thought made her laugh aloud

Not even a quiver of a bramble gave Hawkclaw's position away. The young, skilled warrior stalked through the meadow, following his victims stealthily and quietly. Trespassers. A grin couldn't help but curl the corners of his rims - would dear Sabrestar be recieving a present on this fine day?
He pounced, long claws extended and landing infront of the wandering StoneClanners, making sure that the apprentice was a safe distance behind him also. His amber orbs were slitted, and a growl penetrated in the pit of his stomach. He was Hawkclaw, and nobody got past him easy.
"My my, we have visitors."
He smirked, hackles bristling and ears flattened. Even in defense mode he looked quite the handsome young tom. Suddenly his voice became serious, and he dared the other cats to disobey him.
"Don't you move another step into DuskClan territory, or you will be dead."
He looked to the older tom, playing as if he was a kit and pretending to be dead. He was older than Hawkclaw, and even he wouldn't play like that. He snorted. The fools.
"Why are you here? And by starclan your reasons better be good."
Claws flexed, digging mini trenches in the ground.

Snowstripe looked down at the border line, puzzled, They hadn't even crossed, like last time. Simply waiting for Brindlepaw's friend. She got to her feet and scowled at Hawkclan, tail lashing violently. We've no need to explain ourselves to you, for we have done nothing wrong. We aren't even on your terrirory, after all, but the freelands of the rogue. She growled pointedly, raising a brow. We've come to see Smokepaw. Ask no questions, and I shall tell you no lies. She stated more calmly. She doubted Hawkclaw would even think to obey her, even if the small band of stoneclan misfits weren't on their territory. Smokepaw was of his clan, and by doing so meant it could cause trouble for Duskclan, and Hawkclaw would not permit it.

Dragonpelt braced his paws in the soil and stared the Duskclan warrior down. Snowstripe was right, this cat had no justified reason to attack them until they crossed the territory line! He could feel a growl rising his throat at the hostile warrior.

Ask no questions, I'll tell you no lies. Oh right, so he was supposed to just accept that they were peering over the edge of DuskClan territory to talk to one of their apprentices, because they felt like it? He issued a short growl, staring at the one that seemed to lead the little patrol.
"You shall speak to no apprentice of ours without permission. Tell me what you want with him, and why it couldn't wait until the next gathering?"

She raised a brow and growled at him. Because the gathering already ended without your coming. Two clans were missing. I'm sure Starclan would be furioius. She raised her head, ears leaning back. I will not state such business here, for we've not crossed your boundaries. What we are doing here is none of your business, for we are making up for lost time on the gathering by speaking to your apprentice there.

Hawkclaw kept his calm, eyes steadily staring at the StoneClan warrior. God she was an idiot. But keep those thoughts to yourself, you remember last time when you told that old hag she smelt of dead fish? He grinned inwardly, before speaking once more.
"Lost time or not, you will wait until the next gathering. StarClan's will is that then is the time for the clans to talk among eachother, and whether we didn't turn up or not, you will wait like all the others who wish to talk to friends from other clans. Any warrior should know that."
He snorted, long tail swishing behind him and long claws flexing. Ooh, he'd found more to tell them. God, he felt like a real adult doing all this.
"If the matter is that important, Smokepaw and I shall escort you to our main camp and you can bring the matter up with Sabrestar. If not, you better bugger off.

Snowstripe was tempted to just run over the borders and attack him, but she kept her cool. Her temper, however, was flaring. I'm not stupid, you god damn tom! I'm aware of how the warrior code works. It appears that you, however, don't seem to know because you and your clan didn't show up to the last gathering! It was moonhigh before the only two clans finally left! She snarled, tail lashing out angrily. The matter I bring is important, and shant you let the apprentice speak to us, it could means the hides off your back! She spat. Whether or not Sabrestar knew of Boneclan was a different matter, however Stoneclan knew more of Boneclan than this bumbling tom in front of her. Or even their dignified leader.

Now now... shouting will get you nowhere. A smug grin tempted to spring upon his handsome mug, but he refrained. He was a good kitty.
"DuskClan apologises for not turning up, but other matters arose."
He said in a dignified matters, blinking his prettyful amber orbs. He couldn't understand why what they had to say couldn't wait, nor why it involved an apprentice. If anything Sabrestar should be told, but the pretty kitty in front of him thought they'd just talk to who they wanted when they wanted, and that clan leaders didn't matter.
"We could bicker all day, but it will get us nowhere. I will escort you - and only you - to the main camp, and you can bring this up with Sabrestar if it is so important, and Smokepaw if need be."
He spoke calmly, if with slight arrogance. Only she would go, as sending a whole troup into their main area could be a mistake. They could be planning an attack, and one was better than four. The handsome black tortoiseshell turned, keeping an eye on the StoneClanners at all times and signalling with his long tail for Smokepaw and the Stoneclan warrior to follow.

Brindlepaw stood and walked boldly forward. Take me if you're so intent on bringing somecat. I'm not letting Snowstripe go in there alone. She spoke defiantly, no way was her mentor going in alone with that hoard of savages.
Smokepaw had looked upon the rag-tag group of StoneClanners and chuckled, but as the voice of an old friend rang out, his ears sprang up, eyes wide. It was Brindlepaw! He quickly masked the look of recognition in his eyes and lowered his ears. Afterall, the group looked quite suspicious, hovering about near DuskClan territory...probably spying or stealing prey. Why would they want to speak with him anyway? Like Hawkclaw said, he was only an apprentice.
