Fat mousey

Raventail ran through the tall field of wheat. He knew there were many mice in these fields and intended to catch one. A big fat juicy one to fill him up for at least a while. He licked his lips as imagining him chowing down on a nice plump mouse to fit his needs.

He opened his mouth and inhaled the hair to find any scents of his dream mouse. He paused. It was a scent, but it was very stale. That mouse was long gone. He decided to move along and search in a different area.

Once he got there he once again inhaled the air. This time the scent was fresh. The mouse was nearby! He followed the scent only to find a scrawny tiny mouse. His hopes flew right through the window as he stared at it and flopped down on the dirt.

Bloodstorm saw this day as the perfect opportunity to hunt. The weather was alright, even if it was a little too hot for the massive tom's tasts. The clouds rolled by endlessly, on and on, like they always did and always will. Wind played and danced through the feilds and Bloodstorm's pale orange and white fur.

His whiskers twitched as he drank in the sweet, sweet scent of prey. A juicy, crunchy, savory mouse awaited death by his white claws. It wasn't too far ahead of him, he could tell. He wasn't upwind of the mouse, but he wasn't downwind either. This would make it slightly trickier, but not by much.

Upon instinct, the tom dropped into a hunting crouch, his yellow-green eyes locked on some rustling wheat leaves up ahead. The mouse.

He crept forwards, carefully eliminating some of the wheat and distance between him and his soon-to-be catch. After a moment or two of sitting completely still, he lunged forwards.

A mighty paw pinned and nearly crushed the mouse, and an even more powerful jaw ended it's meagre life in a quick snap. He hefted up his find, and when his head swung upwards, he noticed the other tom.

He dropped the mouse. "Ah, sorry. I think I stole your prey," he said, wincing slightly. The sunlight burned his eyes and made his white whiskers twitch uncomfortably. The bulky tom nodded in greeting, being polite.

He stared at small mouse and sighed. You are not deh mousey I was looking for. You might have not been caught by me, but some other kitty might get you. I'd, uh look out if i was you. He laughed at the mouse and blinked.

Almost instantly as he opened his eyes he saw the orange tom fly past him with the mouse. He jumped back, ears down and his glossy black fur standing on his back. He was ready to attack but realized the tom meant no harm. He listened to his words and sighed.

I wasn't going to eat it anyways, besides you're the one who caught him. He looked at the mouse lying on the dirt, You can have it. I have plenty of time to hunt for something else. He stood up and pushed the mouse closer to the tom the flopped back down. He's all yours!

[as you can see...he talks to his food...he'll occasionally play with it as well ;D ]

Bloodstorm's yellow-green eyes blinked in appriciation. "Thanks, friend. So what's your name?"

He sat calmly, the mouse at his feet. He pawed at it somewhat boredly, having only really caught it to pass the time.

Raventail smiled at the tom and chuckled, looking up at him. I am Raventail. Erm...What about you? He looked down to see the tiny, lifeless mouse laying in the toms paws. He thought for a moment and quickly glanced up at Bloodstorm. Hey would you want to go hunting with me? His green eyes twinkled from the way the light hit them. He smiled once again and flicked his ears.
