My, how DuskClan had changed since Bane had last set foot upon it's ground. The loam had groan, and the stench of clan cats was overwhelming. Bane breathed through his mouth, so as not to choke. He was like a shadow within this land, easily able to stalk through it, knowing the area well enough. The tom had enver let anybody know of his first existance within this area, but a few knew of his past connection with Sabrestar; she had once turned up within Rogue Meadow, as BoneClan was first being created.
But it was strange.... the further into duskClan territory Bane and Goldenblaze got, the less it smelt like Sabrestar... the scent markers, were of male, not female. What had happened? Sabrestar had not been overthrown? No feline, male or female, could ever beat Sabrestar for DuskClan territory. Sabre's only weakness was her pathetic belief in StarClan. Bane ignored these signs for a while, but was prepared not to be facing Sabrestar when he finally came across other felines.
His pace slowed as the stench of other cats became stronger, waiting for Goldenblaze to turn up at his side before whispering, almost just miming.
"Be prepared for the worst; DuskClan and BoneClan have a distant alliance, yet from the scent of things it's former leader is no longer. They may have been turned to a clan of idiots, like the rest of them."
At this Bane spat to the floor, continuing his steady pace as they entered the DuskClan camp - he fully expected an uproar, without him having to announce their arrival. The tom knew little of how much the clan's knew of RisingClan and BoneClan, yet he didn't expect it to be a warm welcome.

Goldenblaze strided up beside his leader, eyes kept keen and narrowed for any movement along their path. He recalled this place, he had come here before he had joined Treeclan when Sabrestar had not answered his calls. He was glad of his choice now, for he was not one to abide by Starclan's rules.
Pah..
He recalled the bumbling amber she, and how much he hated the leader. She was sure to be in the battle, and he was planning to take her on life by life. His massive head swung, his single ear twitching for signs of noise (his first had been eaten on his and Heartless's first encounter) and nodded to Bane.
"Indeed, Bane. Duskclan is a strong clan though, stronger than the original four if there ever was one. I doubt Duskclan would allow a soft leader in it's place, but I also hold such doubts that the leader may remember any pact Boneclan and Duskclan may have ever had," He rasped softly to his leader, tail flicking.
He recalled the former dark leader, Sabrestar. He was disappointed. Even with her beliefs in Starclan and her clan like composture he still had respect for the leader. Shame she had to go.. He curiously pondered how she had.
He strided head high and tail arched as he marched astride Bane into the camp, curling his lips. It was not threatening, but it certainly showed he was ready for any battle Duskclan had to throw at them.

So. So?
Trespassers.
Cats crossing into the clan of the damned. Waltzing right into the camp as if they owned the place.
One cat, noticed them first. He was lying directly to the right, those half-lidded, lazy looking eyes trained on the dark tom, the black one.
Oh?
Interesting.
“So Hell’s King, you’ve chosen to come into out Heart?”
The old tom sat up, but he didn’t betray any hostile actions towards the two. Yet.
Bloodstar was the leader; he was only the medicine cat. It was not his place to judge them, although he knew, knew!, who they both were.
Hell’s King, Bane. Treeclan Traitor, Goldenblaze.
Yes, one learned much if they simply listened instead of filling the air with idle chatter.
Snick.
A faint, almost inaudible sound, but the old tom’s claws were drawn. Should Bloodstar order, he would attack, there was no doubt in that.

“So Hell’s King, you’ve chosen to come into our Heart?”
The voice wasn't unexpected - Bane had sensed the old toms presence before the words had broken the eerie silence. The tom calmly faced the cat whom had spoken, nodding in a sign of respect. Despite people's feelings about Bane, he did not see himself as superior to any other being. Truth was, the tom was a trespasser here, and in doing so he should show respect to those who live here, in fear of his life. Sure, he doubted they would be able to kill him should he show disrespect, but he needed to show respect if he were to succeed in his goal.
"So it seems. I wish to speak to your leader, if it's not an inconvenience."
The tom spoke with low tones, his usual tint of hidden malice, yet he spoke calmly, respectfully. This tom was his elder, and a fool he'd be not to show respect to him. The King's tail was lowered, to as not to seem cocky and arrogant - yet claws dug into the earth, as if sharpening them should any trouble come.

"Our leader is not here at the moment," came the deep voice of a lanky deep brown cat. Black stipes crossed across his flat fur like lightning. "Bane.." She said, not recognizing the other cat as his medicine cat did as he came to stand beside him.
Talonkit.
He still held the kits name, but he was nearly warrior age, and was long overdue for his apprenticeship by many moons. Perhaps it should have been Sabrestar's first priority, but she was gone now.
"I propose the idea that you now realize that Duskclan is under new leadership, Bane? I warn you that you run the frank possibilty that you are not quite as welcome here as when Sabrestar was here," He said. Oh yes, he was a young kit when Bane was a part of Duskclan, and he was there when he had fled to lead his own clan.
.. But he remembered it...
He seemed popular among the clans as a lead topic of gossip. Talon was impressed he managed so quickly with such a dark reputation, but Talonkit had to admit he admired the tom. "Perhaps... But Bloodstar does not give information to such a 'kit' as myself lightly. I do not know such information.." He added, so as not to anger the tom and his comrade.

The golden tom held his ground beside his leader, glaring at the two cats of Duskclan. "Perhaps we are aware of this, tom. Where is your leader?" He asked, his voice level with respect. Bane didn't appear quite as hostile towards Duskclan, probably keeping his head down if he wanted allies in this war. He too gazed warily about him, fur flattening as it appeared they weren't going to take his fur and last ear. He was already rather battered looking enough.
He wanted to yowl aloud! They were acting like they were ready to attack the two Boneclanners. They came with a proposition if Bloodstar would hear it, but perhaps they had come a little too late...?
He would allow Bane to speak, lest he said aloud the wrong words to be spoken. In such an anxious position for the golden-white tom, he was sure to spit one out.

"I propose the idea that you now realize that Duskclan is under new leadership, Bane? I warn you that you run the frank possibilty that you are not quite as welcome here as when Sabrestar was here,"
Of course he realised that. He could understand that this new leader... Bloodstar? may not be so keen to make alliances as Sabrestar had been. Being here, he was hoping to create a new alliance - so despite his will to laugh at the kit - though probably not far off warrior status - for thinking he had not thought of the possibility that Bane and Goldenblaze may not be welcome, he kept his cool, and nodded in understanding.
"Understood. But realise, that it is with great urgency that we have had to trespass - and my many apologies for having to do so - on your lands. When is Bloodstar likely to return?"
The King wasn't too keen on sharing his exact reasons as to why he was here to those currently present - despite him wanting DuskClan on his side, there were possibilities that they disagreed. At this crucial stage, when it was not clear whether they were friend or foe, he didn't want to tell them of the war, should they raid and turn against BoneClan also. Bane knew the other Clans had formed alliances with RisingClan, yet within this battle he hoped to get Risingclan on their own, strike unexpectedly, with little chance of them being able to call their clan scum to their rescue.

Talonscar grinned a nasty smile, flicking his tail at his flanks. "So it seems your leader has a fair amount more respect than you do tom; you could go far in life if you took heed to his habits," He murmured, flexing his shoulderblades.
All his muscles were thick and firm, but it was apparent he was slim and lanky. This was what Duskclan had made him into, from an innocent and playful young kit to the cinic he was today, with the appearance of lack of food apparent. But he didn't seem to mind as he stood beside the Medicine Cat, tail flicking.
"Nobody knows," Came the reply of the slender brown tom. "We have not a deputy to take the place of the leader in the first place, nor have we ever. I believe you recall how we lost the only contestant?" He said with gleaming eyes. He spoke of how Bane was to be the deputy under the famous she-cat, but now they had a tom Talonscar only saw but briefly.
Any confusion Goldenblaze may have had was masked and unshown upon his passive face.
"Allow me to take a message, Bane?" He said from his high ridge of which he stood, watching down at them with a flicking tail. Whatever the answer, this was sure to be good....

Allow him to take it? Bane kept silent for a moment more, pondering whether it was fine for him to pass on his message to this young warrior, though decent he was. DuskClan had certainly suffered from the loss of dear Sabrestar. The large tom flicked his tail briefly, before coming upon his decision.
"Well, there is no reason for you all not to hear." he muttered, standing tall, deciding to broadcast it in the brief hope that some warriors might decide to help, despite their lack of a leader.
"You have definitely heard of us, BoneClan. Has RisingClan come up? It is another Rogue Clan, led by a she-cat named Kestrel, nonetheless. I have reason to believe a war is about to break forth - my clan has already taken action to weaken RisingClan's defenses, yet we need more than just us.
I won't go into details of why this war came about, for they are unnecessary. BoneClan and DuskClan had an alliance when Sabrestar had been leader, and I hoped that in coming here I could renew that alliance with the new leader. We are in need of help, and aren't ashamed to admit it. To have DuskClan by our side would be an honour. I am willing to discuss should your leader wish for something in return... yet let's hope he is of good heart, to realise when a true alliance has come his way."
He paused, lowering himself slightly, awaiting for the reactions... of the old medicine cat and the young warrior.

There will be no need for relay of messages.
The dark-pelted Maine Coon seemed to materialize from the tall grass; his voice smooth.
I apologize for my absense.
He spoke to both the BoneClan and DuskClan cats. He had now joined his Medicine Cat and the thin young warrior, standing slightly ahead of them. His bushy tail waved from side to side in a slow, almost lazy manner, as if to assure the two Duskclanners that attack would not be needed this moment. Despite this, he surrepticiously unsheathed his claws. The thought of a fight made him shiver slightly with longing. He put those thoughts to the back of his mind though, these cats had not shown any hostility as of yet. With the far off thoughts of a battle still trying to nag at him, his abnormally crimson-colored eyes rested on the tar-black, scarred tom called Bane.
If Sabrestar had reason to ally with your clan, then I see no blatant reason to question her previous judgement. He looked to Styx and Talonscar. So, if there is no objection, His gaze returned to Bane, then I will agree to an alliance.
Somehow, Bloodstar imagined, that this event had gone much more smoothly than Bane might have planned. But then again, no one knows exactly what Bane's planning.

As the DuskClan leader emerged, Bane levelled himself with the large Coon, deciding if he was indeed good leader material. He nodded in greeting, awaiting to see if this tom wasn't all brawn, but contained some brains as well. Yet there was no problem - the tom spoke with keen intelligence, to which Bane smiled graciously. This was the beginning of something beautiful.
"My many thanks to you."
Bane spoke in his usual cold manner, yet his smile and hidden respect within his orbs proved he was indeed thankful. This had definitely gone more to plan - images of foolish cats attempting to attack had sprung to mind, and even if that hadn't happened, he had expected some sort of bargaining. The reason Goldenblaze had accompanied Bane lay in that Bane might have been in need of a bodyguard, and though Sharpfang would have deemed worthy also, he wished to save Sharpfang's energy for the forthcoming battle.
"I believe a gathering is to be held tonight? You are to be attending? For I have reason to believe that RisingClan may be thinking of turning up - getting too big for their boots, if I may say so. Our plan of action commences tonight, to rid RisingClan of a troublesome kestrel that has been known to help them. Yet I plan to hold off the first attacks on RisingClan themselves in the early hours of the morning, soon after the Gathering has ended, and making sure all signs of our attack on the kestrel are discarded. That way, they shall be weakened after such a busy evening, and taken by surprise. Will your clan be ready for such an attack?"
He was asking for a lot, and Bane sincerely hoped Bloodstar would hold true to his speak of alliances. This battle was the first step in gaining complete respect, complete control - and most of all, it would weed out certain... individuals.
