Fernwhisker watched the dew glitter on the stalactites, her green eyes reflecting the points of crystal light. This morning the cave felt magical, and the small she-cat leaped onto a ledge to enjoy it. She sighed. She hadn't been around much in camp lately, both because she was worried about her friend Kestrel's latest endeavor, and also because StoneClan was so fast-paced compared to loner life... Ok, so Fernwhisker had been part of a Clan once before. But that was in the earlier part of life. For almost no reason, she was finding it hard to adjust. She laid her head on her paws, watching the last drops of dew evaporate in the thin dawn light that managed to seep into the cave. It was still very cool in the cave, especially with the shadows falling across her fur. Fernwhisker shivered a little, her tail twitching, and sighed. There's nothing wrong. Kestrel can handle herself. I should be in camp.. But she stayed in the cave on the ledge, her head on her paws, watching the last drops of dew evaporate.

Heavy, yet soundless pawsteps lead a figure to the outside of the cavern. Each step seemed slightly labored, as if Frosteye had been walking like this for days. Yet his face betrayed no emotion, no weakness or exhaustion as he stood at the entrance to the cavern. He was heading towards the Stoneclan camp, as he had been absent for quite a long time. His slightly tattered ears were pricked, flicking occasionally.
He was aware of another cat inside the cavern, and he did not question the fact that they were of Stoneclan. For a moment he debated continuing past onto Stoneclan, where he needed to greet many, including his leader. But then he turned, padding slowly into the cavern. The evaporating drops of dew caught the light from the outside, glinting like jewels as his own crystal blue eyes passed over them.
It's quite lovely in here, isn't it?
He said with a faint smile, wondering if this other cat had been aware of his presence previous to his speaking. However, his tones held no threat, as he reclined upon his haunches a bit into the cave, the light from the outside silhouetting his figure.

Fernwhisker had not heard the tom approach, but he did not surprise her in the least. She reached out, methodically, and touched the cold stone side of a stalactite with a single white paw. "Yes," She murmured, drawing her paw back. She watched the dawn light turn the dewdrops resting on the fur to liquid rainbows. "It's an excellent place to get away from the world awhile. This is my favorite place at dawn." In her vivid green eyes, every point of glittering light was reflected perfectly, flawlessly. She blinked slowly, almost thoughtfully, and turned her brilliant green eyes on the other cat. He was Stoneclan; of that Fernwhisker was sure. And not hostile either, she read. She was a pretty good judge of cats, she knew, though she had been wrong before. Fernwhisker shifted to lay on her side, her white paws hanging over the ledge. She tilted her head slightly. "'Alo...I'm Fernwhisker." She meowed, her clear voice echoing back at her.

The male's shoulderblades rose and fell as he tested the ground beneath him with his claws, his tail curled languidly to his side. His dark grey pelt was barlely visible with the light of the outside to his back, the darkness of the cave to his front, yet his blue eyes shone through the darkness like jewels. Even though he had been absent for some time, the scent of Stoneclan still rested in him, and even so, he almost seemed to be a born Stoneclan cat, with a pelt the color of rock, and a powerful build to carry his body easily across the treacherous stones of their territory.
Frosteye. It is strange that, though we are both of Stoneclan, we have not yet met.
He said with a faint smile to himself, his tones calm and flowing as a river, languid, knowing their path. His crystaline blue eyes met her green ones without hesitation. His eyes seemed to match the stone around them in their stillness and solidity, never flickering or wavering, yet light danced shone through them, giving them a diamond like quality.

Fernwhisker returned the gaze, unwavering. "Not so strange. I haven't been around much. ...It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Frosteye." Her voice was clear as bells in the darkness, and she was glad to hear it. The resonating silence of the cave sometimes got to her. There was something about the cave that made voices different. Her voice, always clear and lilting, took on an ethreal quality here. Fernwhisker was sure that was just her imagination, overactive as always, but it wasn't just her voice. It was the tom's, and the air in the cave. Her imagination turned the cave into somelace magical and strange.

Frosteye also noticed the cave's almost unworldly quality, turning drops of dew into liquid rainbow and distorting the voice of all who spoke within it. The deputy's grey form remained a shadow against the light of the outside, every hair and whisker outlined in light. At her words he smiled subtly, giving one of his ears a slight flick. He was glad in a way that there were new cats of Stoneclan for him to meet, because it meant that the clan had been gathering new members during his absense.
It is also nice to meet you, Fernwhisker.
He said softly, calmly, yet his voice reverberated strongly throughout the cave. He gave a flick of his tail, his crystal blue eyes watching Fernwhisker, though they betrayed nothing of his thoughts.
So tell me, do you come here often?

"Every now and then, yes," Fernwhisker replied softly, crossing her white paws, her eyes narrowing slightly as a shaft of dawn light brightened the cave slightly. She did not reconize the tom, though his name sounded familliar...
