Another Apprentice

Pinepaw walked into the main camp of StoneClan, her new home. She shook her paws nervously, opened her mouth to breathe the air. Many cats lived here. Many warriors, all strong and wise. For a moment she felt intimidated; she quickly pushed her thoughts away, wondering if the others in the area felt her brief fear.

The grey she-cat dipped her head respectfully to each she passed, even if she thought they might be an apprentice. She made her way to the freshkill pile, for her belly was rumbling with hunger. She had a feeling she'd have to pay for taking what she didn't work for later--But she didn't mind. She would do anything for this clan, for those who kept her and cared for and about her.

Choosing a small mouse, she sat where she wouldn't get in the way of any warrior. She awaited any orders one might have for her, any errands to do; for Pinepaw was an honest cat, honest and hard-working. Any cat who might have seen her might have thought of her as that very thing.

[Featherstar]

Featherstar followed the new apprentice into the clearing and picked up a vole from the pile. She then went up to lay down beside the young cat.Pinepaw, I hope that you like life in StoneClan. Just so you know, I will be your temporary mentor until we find another cat to mentor you. Featherstar then bit into her vole.

[Loveless]

Loveless watched the two she-cats, bright yellow eyes never missing a thing. He decided that now was the time to act, if he ever wanted to fully prove himself.

Light paws led him over to the two she-cats, beautiful leader and pretty apprentice, and he dipped his head in greeting to the both of them..

"M'lady...may I speak with you alone?"

His voice sounded suddenly hopeful, and he hoped that his intrusion wouldn't irk Featherstar too much as he lead the older female away from the apprentice. This would be brief anyway.

"I know I am new to StoneClan myself and that there are most likely many other warriors more worthy but...if a mentor is what that young she-cat needs, I'd gladly led my heart and soul to the duty."

Loveless feared he was pushing the issue, but a willing mentor was better than none at all. He was brave and resourceful; and although Featherstar had only recently accepted him, she would hopefully notice just how dedicated he had already become.

Thanks Loveless, that would help me out a lot. Why don't you go let Pinepaw know that you will be her mentor. Featherstar was glad that this new warrior was so willing to help out in his new clan.If you have questions about anything, feel free to ask me. Go ahead and get aquantied with Pinepaw.

[OOC – I’ve only heard powerplaying used when referred to battle or some conflict of that sort. Just leading someone away isn’t exactly causing damage or harm to them. ^^ Not only that, I was uncertain when the next time I would be on. I have to go have surgery to remove the tumors, so…I was trying to hurry it along a little bit so Pinepaw could post more. In any case, I knew you wouldn't mind.]

“Thank you, M’lady Featherstar.”

Loveless dipped his head, unable to hide the excitement and cheerful happiness that reflected in his eyes as he ran back over to Pinepaw, tail held high.

“Hi there! My name’s Loveless. Featherstar said that I can mentor you.”

Pinepaw looked up to him from her mouse. She saw a handsome warrior [//eh...handsome as in strong not exactly attractive lol], looking proud, his tail held high.
She staggered up from her spot and dipped her head to him.
"Um.. Hellu! I'm so glad you can be my mentor!" She grinned cheekily, tail waving. "I'm Pinepaw--as I'm sure you already know-- and um.. When do we start?" she finished, eyes gleaming with excitement.

[//I'm sorry to hear you need surgery. I'm new, obviously, so I don't know what's happened, but I'm sure it'll go well. ^_^ Much love!]

Loveless laughed cheerfully, winking playfully at Pinepaw.

“Whenever Featherstar is ready to make the announcement to the rest. I believe that is Clan custom.”

Bright yellow eyes glitter with untapped happiness. He, a new warrior to StoneClan, and already with his first apprentice? His shining eyes fell on Pinepaw, unable to suppress the glowing pride he already felt in her.

"Clan meeting? Wow, I've never been in the spotlight before..." Pinepaw was nervous for just a moment. "Luckily I'll have someone to share it with though," she meowed, smiling shyly at her mentor. "Do you know if...Featherstar calls meeting often?"

“Urm…no I don’t know that. I’m rather new here myself.”

Loveless had to laugh out loud at that. He was still such a giant kit at heart. The back and white tom turn to look at the Clan leader, hoping that she would call one here soon.

Pinepaw deserved her moment to shine.

If you two don't mind, I'll make the announcement now. Featherstar now spoke to the new mentor and apprentice.Just sit here. Cats of StoneClan, she suddenly raised her voice so all in the clan could hear,I would like to let you know that we have a new apprentice. Pinepaw, has recently joined our clan and will be mentored by Loveless. She sat down. It was sad that the official words to an apprentice ceremony had been lost to StoneClan long ago. Well, she thought,at least I know the right words for a warrior ceremony. Featherstar smiled. She couldn't wait until new warriors were made.

Pinepaw shone with gratitude and pride, grined up at her mentor. She sat on her paws, excitedly fidgeting, eager to start her training. "What do we do first?" she asked.

[Loveless]

"Well...we wait until our lovely leader bids us our leave..."

Loveless nodded towards Featherstar. It would look bad if he just snatched up Pinepaw and they headed out without even a good-bye.

He bend his muzzle down and whispered softly into his apprentice's ear, his tone low enough so Featherstar wouldn't hear.

"Maybe you should tell her thank you. She just did a wonderful thing fer you."

[OOC - No problem, no problem. ;D]

Well, if you two would like to go on over to the training area or maybe explore the territory. Since you're both new you'd help each other learn the way around. Featherstar padded over to the new pair. If you need any help feel free to talk to me. I'm always willing and ready to talk. Featherstar thought this pair would be good together. They seemed to like each other already.Have fun! She sat down, watching her clan.

"We will, thank you, Featherstar," Pinepaw meowed. "Thank you for accepting me into the clan!" She purred.

"Loveless, may we explore?" She could barely contain her excitement, once again. She fidgeted a bit with her paws, then grew worried, afraid she was being rude. She smiled shyly up at him.

[Loveless]

"Of course."

Loveless laughed, a warm and gentle sound. He then leapt to his paws and pranced forward, glancing over his shoulder. It was hard to be rude by him - he was one of the most easy-going and good-natured cats a cat could find.

"Explore? Lead on, Pinepaw; I can instruct you on the way."

[Pinedark]

"Great! I saw this neat field near the boundaries!" Pinepaw grinned, heading toward the entrance of StoneClan camp. "I smelt lots of prey there. Maybe you could teach me how to hunt!" She gave a bit of a trot along her way.

Loveless grinned at the thought; he teaching someone else to hunt? This could get interesting, especially since the young tom had some odd hunting habits himself.

"Sounds like a plan."
