drawing the line with a washable marker
Flat, dull blue eyes took in the scenery before him; a rocky moor with few trees and minimum amounts of water. Dark tabby head lifting, broad now with maturity, Veil Sixclaw gazed upon the land he intended to join once again. This was the place he was born into; his now-dead mother, Bluefen, had given birth to him here long ago. Swartt Sixclaw, his father, had joined DuskClan, but had died sometime ago.

Veil's pale sapphire orbs fell from where he stared to the dust, where pawprints had walked from this location to the inside of his old camp. He wondered if his brother, Honor, and his sister, Valor, were still living; he hoped so. This dark-pelted tom was not the ruthless, murderous cat Swartt was, but he was also not the sweet, frail queen Bluefen had been. He had seen the world, had seen its harsh sides, and knew it had other sides to show to him.

The warrior was now big as his ole dad had been - most likely bigger - and was ready to take on any enemy. Surely Featherstar isn't still alive - she found me when I was a newborn and gave me to Blindsong.. Thinking of the queen who had suckled him made him feel a little excited to see her - did she still walk this earth on steady paws?
i guess you've given 'agony' a new definition
He winced at the bittersweet memories of StoneClan's land. He had abandoned this place as an apprentice, with Honorpaw and Valorpaw still here with their mother, Blindsong. He so hoped to see his family again.

"...V-Veil?"
The black and white tom had peered around the corner and seen the other tom, and faintly remembered his scent. This was the kit Blindsong had fostered. Kit? No, not a kit anymore. Veil Sixclaw was mature now; not the kit he had been.
Yin's amber orbs surveyed the scene. Auds flicked and tail twitched. Veil, he was back! Featherstar would be--oh. No. Snowstar would be ecstatic.
What Veil had been thinking was...half right. Featherstar had disappeared; Blindsong was still alive. Yin stepped toward the younger tom, breaking into a canter halfway.
"Veil! Veil Sixclaw!" Yin cried. He had known Veil; not well, they hadn't been the best of friends, but it was always nice to find out a cat you'd known was indeed still alive. The black and white tomcat observed Veil; he had definitely matured. He wasn't so fluffy anymore. "How have you been keeping up, young one?" He laughed. "You remember me?"
Yin's mind raced. Veil was back, Veil was back, Veil was back! Snowstar would need to know right away.

draw from the deck your DARK QUEEN
The shrill, bright cries from behind him made the dark tabby turn his head, a look of alarm on his face. Who was this? Narrowing his pale blue eyes for closer scrutiny, he finally gave a bright smile and a playful laugh. "Wait, don't tell me. You must be Yin. It's been a long time, pal."
and here on out i'll control the bloodhounds
Glancing around, whiskers twitching, Veil murmured in reply to the black and white warrior, "Yes, I've been alright. Nothin's as good as StoneClan out there, though," he laughed raucously, nosing towards the Boundaries of StoneClan. The dark tom paused momentarily, trying to think of more questions to ask Yin.

Finally, the tabbied warrior murmured, "Ah, that's right. Would ya mind tellin' me what's been happenin' t'me family? Blindsong, is she still livin'? Honorpaw and Valorpaw?" The concern in his voice was weak, but it was surely there, and it shone brightly in his dusky blue eyes.
poise for the picture, now [/i]

"Still living?" Yin laughed, his tail high in the air. He began to turn, but stopped. "Of course, Blindsong's not joined StarClan yet." And Honorpaw and Valorpaw? Well, they were only apprentices yet, and hadn't caught any bad sicknesses. "And Honorpaw and Valorpaw are alive and well." The black and white warrior turned to lead Veil further into StoneClan, flicking his tail.
Yin's amber hues shone with joy; this had happened so fast. He had just wanted to go hunting, and he'd caught a rare Veil Sixclaw.
It has been a long time, the black and white tomcat thought, a bit sadly. Too long. The whole of StoneClan had missed Veil terribly. And how would Veil react when he was informed that Featherstar was gone? Better to find out in private, rather than in front of tens of cats?
"Oh, and," Yin meowed, more solemnly than before. "Featherstar has...disappeared." He stopped to see how the young dark tomcat would react. "Snowstar has replaced her." He stood still, waiting for a reaction.

Veil stopped, glancing back at Yin with a wry smile on his dark face. The cutting words he delivered were not his own; it seemed to come from the mouth of his shadowed father himself. "Nobody 'disappears', Yin." He looked up, this time his blue eyes shaded with hurt.
"No, nobody 'disappears'. My mother Bluefen did not disappear, my father Swartt Sixclaw did not disappear. Only I did.. only me. Featherstar is dead." He did not look at Yin again, only silently carrying on towards the trails he was very familiar with, now.

You speak such wisdom, Veil, I'm surprised I recognize you at all, Came the soft voice of a young tom. He didn't look quite so mature and older as his brother; but then again, his brother had seen many hardships while Honorpaw and his sister Valorpaw had remained tucked away in Stoneclan.
That didn't change the fact that he did in fact look quite older now. His muscles were tan with excersize under his thick furry coat, shed now that the weather grew warmer into Green Leaf.
Welcome home, good brother, Honorpaw mewed gently, striding over towards him, looking lion-like in his honorable glory. So what if he had an ego the size of the valley, he was still kind and loyal to Stoneclan.
[XDDD Ahaha.. Ha.. Haha... I forgot to post Honorpaw at the gathering. Poor Honorpaw is so easily forgotten. XDDD We'll just say he got.. Lost and ran into them. o_0 ]

"Honorpaw!" Yin cried. He hadn't smelled Veil's adoptive brother; he was so happy that he'd become unalert. "Your brother's retured, as you can see," he purred, his tail flicking. Yin glanced around; his brother, Yang, must be around somewhere, but probably in guarding the camp.
Thinking of Yang reminded him of his mother, Zeporah. Ah, her kits were probably born by now. He wondered what had become of his mother and new siblings.
"Where's Valorpaw?" Yin suddenly mewed; perhaps their sister was at the Gathering. His ear twitched and he jumped onto a rock to gaze out over the valley. "And I wonder how the Gathering is going..." Little did the three know that cats were fighting down at the Great Hill.
ooc - is valorpaw a girl? xD
