The sun warmed Shadepaw's inky fur and her whiskers twitched, her blue eyes glowing with warmth, her tail, fluffy but normal length was waving in the air like a dark flag.
What a wonderful day, she purred, eyes glowing. Then, she mewed aloud, "We're lucky to be alive!" Her eyes glittering coolly, frostily, she darted over to the side, tail still in the air, then flew back to the other side, as if all of her energy couldn't be contained.
Her ears twitched, and her sapphire gaze was warm as she glared around, wishing for something to do. She scented a strange scent, and winced. Other cats? She waited, tense, for another to come at her. |

Featherstar smiled when she heard the young c at mew her excitment. What she said was true. She trotted over and inquired, What is your name feline? I am Featherstar, the leader of StoneClan. Are you searching for a home within our boundaries?

Startled that someone had answered her, Shadepaw's dark eyes gleamed and her ears twitched. Swirling around, she spied a pretty, tall she-cat with plenty of sinew and glowing fur. Shadepaw's whiskers twitched and she smiled brightly.
"Oh, hiya!" She purred, eyes glimmering brightly, "I'm Shadepaw! Is this... one of the Clans?" Her tail tip flicked and she gazed around. "StoneClan, perhaps?" |

Why yes, StoneClan is one of the four clans. You're very smart, Shadepaw. Where do you come from that you know of the Clans? Featherstar was curious. The fact that this cat knew of the clans and had a natural clan name was something that she wanted to find out about.

"Oh, here and there, I s'pose," the dark-pelted cat mewed, darting to the side once more, blue eyes glowing happily. "Oh, yeah, evr'one in my ol' home knew of t'Clans. Mostly t'ose rogue-y Clans o'er down t'ere." She mewed, her old accent returning, but she tried to clear it.
"Anyways," she mewed, tail-tip twitching, "...Featherstar, I was wondering if I could join your Clan..." She looked questioningly at her, her sapphire gaze glowing. |

Why of course Shadepaw. I would be happy to give you a home in StoneClan. If you'd like we could go to the camp now. Featherstar turned and began to walk slowly toward the camp. Unless, she added, you have something you'd like to ask me?
