Apprentice!

Maplepaw almost tumbled into the area that contained the clan's camp. He was expecting a large, drawn out area that contained burrow-like structures: He certainly wasn't expecting a great tree to house the clan itself! These deciduous trees were relatively new to him, and the "oak smell" as he would later identify it, was overpowering. At first he could only stand and gaze at the structure in awe before turning to face Oakstar as she came from behind him: she had been distracted by something, and had waited a few moments before following him further.

(Er...I hope I'm getting the camp format correct. It's IN a tree, right? ; )

Goldenpaw followed the scent leading through the forest into the main camp. He looked up, mouth agape as he gazed at the tree. Coming quickly to his senses, he looked ahead and trotted after Maplepaw, approaching the young kit with a soft look on his face. Oakstar had mentioned the kit, and seeing a chance to get to know the members he sat down before the kit, a smile below his thin white whiskers. Hello there! Whom might you be? I'm Goldenpaw, a new member. He said with a grin, tail flicking.

Maplepaw looked at the oncomming gold-furred apprentice. He smiled and replied, "My name is Maplepaw. I come from up north, but Oakstar said that I could live here, now, as an apprentice. I'm very glad,"

"So..." Maplepaw continued, slighly soft-spoken despite how large he was for his age, "Do you climb trees often? I love it!"

[Goldenblaze]

Eh... He looked up at the surrounding forest, eyes gleaming in the thin banners of light that poured down over them from the treetops. Sometimes. I'm no the best climber.. He said sheepishly, looking at the young apprentice. Hopefully that will trained as I live here.. In the Treeclan. Nice to meet you, Maplepaw! He added a large grin to the kit, tail flicking curiously at him for a response.

Maplepaw nodded understandingly. "I've lived my whole life in trees. Except...they weren't really trees like this-" He gestured at the surrounding forest, "-they were taller, it seemed, and they were never bright green like this. They were a darker shade, and didn't have 'leaves' on them."

The kit's eyes wandered and he continued, carrying on his point, "They had sharp spines that smelled much differently than these."

He pawed a leaf, hoping that he hadn't rambled.

He quirked his head at the young kit. He'd not heard of trees like that.. And the sharp spine comment had left his fur a little fluffier that before. They sounded creepy.. Eerie in a way. But he smiled. Were you good at climbing those too? he asked earnestly, ears quirked forward.

"Yes, though I think everyone could be good at climbing some of them. The branches on those trees grew really close to the ground sometimes. Week-old kits could just walk onto them." Pleasant memories flooded Maplepaw's mind before he asked, "Where did you come from, Goldenpaw?"

[Goldenblaze]

Rogue meadows, a little over two years ago. He said brightly, swishing his tail. I wonder who Oakstar will take to the Gathering tonight! He wondered aloud, looking over the camp for her. He looked down. So where did you come from?

[Mapleheart]

Maplepaw looked confused for a moment, but began to speak. "Actually...when my clan and I were there, we never really called the place anything. It was just 'home'. I suppose we did that because there weren't any other clans to fight with. We didn't need a name," he stopped for a moment, "All I do know is that it was north of this place, with the trees I described earlier. And it was colder, with a lot of snow. But that may be because it's only just turned spring."

"I've never been to a meeting! Do you know what it's like? If we're going, we should be going soon!" the kit smiled enthusiastically.

He grinned at the kits sudden ecstatic outburst. He'd felt like that, on the inside. No, I've seen them though! From afar. He grinned, remembring all the cats that used to be there.

Oakstar appeared at the edge of the camp clearing, dropping the numerous kills she'd brought with at the communal pile. A squirrel, a chaffinch, and a vole...not a bad haul, and it'd required all of her patience to carry all three back to the camp with how many times she'd had to stop and adjust how they were in her mouth. Looking up, she saw two cats - her two new members, standing in the central clearing. With her tailtip curling back and forth thoughtfully, she trotted up and smiled, her young face alight. It is my first fullmoon as a ClanLeader...come, we must join the rest at the Great Hill. Turning, she trotted off, hoping that they wouldn't be too awfully late.

(Okay, I'm FINALLY caught up...>.< Hopefully, my posting will go uphill from here ^^
