Tired, dejected, and upset, Goldenpaw made his way through the river and trotted up the grassy slope, fur and whiskers drizzling from the river that ran between Duskclan and Treeclan. His eyes dull with a copper hint, he looked up at the brimming sun. His shaggy fur was burning from the hot day, and the river was very relieving. His whiskers twitched and his ears quirked forward as his nose caught smell of a marked border. He inhaled deeply. Treeclan, if he knew his scents. With his tail held high and feeling a little better, he sent out a deep mew through the borders, careful not to set his deep golden paws over the borderline, lest he get in trouble. He kept his stance, silent as his fur waved to and fro in the light wind blowing through the trees.

It seemed a lucky day for the TreeClan, Oakstar thought. She had a gray squirrel skillfully hidden along a path that led back to the camp (she'd be picking it up on her way home) and she had an apprentice waiting for her in the confines of the camp. She was once again in the branches above the ground, doing a small amount of scouting along the borders. Granted, she'd come here to hunt for the rodents that lived near the river, but every chance to ensure border safety was taken seriously, what with the various threats floating about. She was taking her time, the success of knowing their numbers were rising giving her a small sense of satisfaction that allowed for some celebration via laziness. She was crouching to leap from a solid lower branch of a large oak to a more slender but equally sturby branch on a silver birch when she happened to glance down and see a shot of gold among the earthy colors of the forest floor. Did her eyes dare play tricks on her? Another cat seeking asylum at her borders?
Turning, she leapt to a branch slightly below her before gripping the trunk of the tree and backing down it, ending up to the left of the sunny creature. She seemed a bit wary of him...he smelled of some other clans, yet, he seemed rather respectable for all of that. "Where are you coming from, traveller?" She wasn't totally sure of how to react to a cat that smelled of another clan but was so obviously hoping to join hers.
(In your joining post for Goldenpaw you stated he wanted to join Duskclan...I'm not sure where he'd been posted before now, so I decided since he was moving along the border he could have smelled a little like other clans, but it was dulled by him being wet...even if I kinda left that out of the post lol)

((Indeed, I requested to join that clan, and as long as I waited nobody answered my post. So I decided to move on. If he is accepted, I'll change his description to match. ;D))
Goldenpaw watched her cooly as she dropped in. Treeclan was known for their talented ability to scale the vertical trees of their Clan. Fortunatly, although not the best, he knew how to climb. Not as talented as them, but it was better than nothing. He turned his head back to her from gazing at the tall trees.
His coat did indeed smell lightly of the neighboring clan, but was light from not crossing the border and even faded now that he had cut through the river. He grinned to the Clanleader in greeting, his thick bushy tail swishing at his yellow-orange flanks.
Hello, there! You must be Oakstar, leader of the Treeclan. Born in the Rogue meadows, he knew much of the clans. It was a basic teaching to him, from his old and now deceased mentor. My apologies for any trouble I may be causing you. I've traveled long and far, searching for a clan. I've been to many a border, searching for a home. Do you care to accept me in? What he smelled of made up for the fact he was quite the gentleman. A very smooth talker, one of his many quality traits.

Oakstar was almost taken aback by his sudden talkativeness, although an amused smirk lit up her usually grim features. "Yes, I am Oakstar..." Blinking at the younger cat, the queen flicked her ears about in contemplation, her chocolate-banded tail slapping the ground in judgement. They needed the warriors. Coming a few steps closer to him, she sniffed at him, experimentally, and gave him a small nod.
"You may head back to the camp...there is another apprentice, Maplepaw, there." She didn't outright say that he had to go speak to Maplepaw, but he was really the only other cat that Goldenpaw could interact with at the camp until she returned from her hunting and border-patrol.

Thank you, Oakstar. You won't be displeased.
