........
The black-and-white tomkit padded through the forest, soaking up the solitude. The tall trees exuded a feeling of strength and silence, one which Badgerkit could truly enjoy. There was nobody, nothing but him and the trees. The spattered shadows played across his coat, making him almost invisible. The monoliths around him gave him a feeling of community, being one with the earth. He breathed in deep, and let it out again. Complete. And utter. Silence.

Amberstar leanly swept keenly around the trees, tail flicking with expert ease. But Badgerkit, well, he was far from a solitary figure while he remained in Amberstar's territory.
You see, it seemed like she knew everytime one entered her territory, and she was on their case quick as you could say 'Quick as an amber flash'.
She began to set pace quicker, her pawsteps more than wind brushes on the ground and bushes. She watched him keenly before making her grand appearance, right behind him.
"Good afternoon, young tom. May I be so kind as to ask what brings you to my territory?" She asked simply, tail flicking as she watched for signs of attacking or fleeing.

........
Badgerkit stopped right in his tracks, and turned ponderously. He sat down carefully, and stared steadily at the amber she-cat a moment. I am not doing anything. I am simply walking. Another long pause. My name is Badgerkit. He looked around, taking better stock of his surroundings, now that. he was stopped. he had already passed the border, and had detected the scent markers of many cats. Who else lived here?

She smiled. Amberstar always had a nack to be able to read another's mind. She narrowed her eyes in curious wonder. "Yes, well, I'm leader here of Treeclan, the borders of which you have passed. There are many cats that reside here, that of which you can join them."
She watched him keenly. "But you must promise your alliance to me, Badgerkit. Myself, nor does my deputy tolerate betrayals very well."
She smiled, to reassure him she wasn't about to tear him to shreds.
.. And neither were her comrades.

........
Badgerkit blinked. Betrayal.....? He knew. He remembered. And out of all his former clanmates, except for one, even though it had not been long ago, he would be the only one who would. He went back.
Remember, Remember.... ***
Cheetahstar threw the gray tom to the ground violently. Bastard! She spat in his face, voice full of rage and pain, murder in her eyes. Her ear was torn, and there was a shallow gash down her back. Pan out, and you could see a torn up camp and that all had injuries, although not badly enough to stop watching the justice which they so thirsted for. All except one. A handsome, rare tortoiseshell tom lay limp in the middle of the clearing. It was for Turtleshell, her mate, that Cheetahstar mourned. But now was not the time for tears. Although the gray tom squirmed, he could not get free.
You sold us out, betrayed us, and cost us our deputy, our friend! Give me one good reason, one Muleheart, why I don't tear your throat out right now! Muleheart seemed to sag under his leader's claws. His voice, deep, beautiful, laden with remorse, rang out: Well... this is why! His voice heightened to a screech, and he tore savagely into the spotted fae's ankle, tearing flesh and tendons and nicking bone. This injury would later doom her and her unborn kits to death under the churning blades of a Twoleg monster. But for now it allowed him to escape up to a high ledge, avoiding the sore lunges of the rest of the Clan.
You always were best at running away, Muleheart, said Thrushthroat bitterly.
Shut up! yowled Muleheart, That was always your problem, you never appreciated me! I should've mentored Salmonpaw, I should've been deputy, but you all wasted me! his eyes were alight with craven greed. From now on, I am no longer Muleheart; I am now Poisonoak, deputy of the Clan of Earth!
You poor fool, gasped Cheetahstar raggedly, they were lying to you. They'll only kill you, betray you like you did us. But Poisonoak simply fled.
We have to go after him, snarled Raccoonface.
It'll do no good, said her leader dully. None of us are in fit shape. Everybody lick your wounds and get some rest. She began to call out watches. All of this was seen by two kits brave enough to come to the mouth of the nursery. One was a small black-and white tom, who could feel his mother come up behind him. He spoke, but continued to stare at the wreckage.
Come away, Badgerkit.
Mama?
Yes?
They know where we live now. Are we going to die?
I don't know, love. I just don't know.
***
Badgerkit focused on the present again. Betrayal...is no friend of mine, he said simply. Will you accept my fealty, leader of TreeClan?

Amberstar watched as the kits expression blanked, and she gave a small smile. "I take it by your way of saying this you have come across betrayal too. Well then, I shant fear your leave should you betray us. I do not fear that you ever shall, young Badgerkit. Welcome to Treeclan. Come, I shall show you to camp."
And with that, she fled.Sorry for the crap post, especially since yours was nice and long and detailed... ; SORRY DEAR!
