Shaking herself dry after leaping through the waterfall and out of the main camp and into the Grass Field, Ripplepaw gave a slight sneeze. The apprentice didn't do well with warm sunny days, what with her long pelt that was a natural heat blanket which kept her warm during winter and half-dead in summer. Floating pollen from the flowers didn't help her nose much, either. Ah well, can't be helped.
Ripplepaw padded a way off into the middle of the field and just stood there, basking in the sunlight that was after a while quite bearable and reminiscing. She still remembered the first time she had come here, when she was just a kit of six moons. There had been that black, sinister she-cat, here to kidnap Trillium and Honeymist, and after they had left, she remembered tailing them, together with her best friends, Umberpaw and Rustshade, Umberkit and Rustpaw at that time. Then there was the battle at BoneClan...
Ripplepaw shuddered slightly, not wanting to recall any memories of the fight that led to Honeymist's death. Besides, that wasn't what she was here for, anyway. She was here to hunt and to get food for the clan. Spying a nearby rabbit, nibbling contentedly at the grass, she dropped into a hunting position, focusing her gaze on the prey. It had been a while since she last hunted, compared to when she had to fend for herself everyday for two months back when she was four moons. Taking a few silent steps forward, she pounced, and the rabbit lay dead under her claws. Ripplepaw picked up the rabbit and set it down nearby, grinning. So she could still hunt, after all.

"Wow!" came a light, somewhat high-pitched voice behind Ripplepaw. It was Nyria, the black-furred, easily-excited young apprentice of MistClan! Her tail flicked, dropping water droplets everywhere. Her pelt, too, was long, and therefore it made her stay wet longer. She was about to walk over to the blue tabby she-cat and greet her, but the pollen wafted up her nose and then...
Achoo!
She was blown backwards from the force of the sneeze, but recovered by shaking her head. The huge she-cat trotted forward to stand beside Ripplepaw and the dead rabbit, and her tail flicked again and water droplets spiralled everywhere. Her gray eyes shone at the skill the older apprentice had at hunting. Andromeda was somewhere with Medium; Nyria had noticed that the two had grown quite fond of each other. She smiled at the thought of her mentor having kits...and then her bustling into the nursery and scaring the poor little scraps half to death.
"You're really good at hunting," she mewed in awe, still staring down at the dead rabbit. She pawed at it; Nyria tended to do that. Just to make sure it was actually dead, and not just playing little mind games. "I wish I knew how to hunt." She glanced back at the waterfall; MistClan's camp was well-hidden behind it. Andromeda was probably still back there, and Bristlepaw and Amara and Battledream, too. She brought her gazed back to Ripplepaw and the rabbit, and suddenly she leaped over the older - yet smaller - apprentice with ease, and she was now standing on her other side. "Wanna play?"

[From... that other post Andromeda was in, with the tree.] After checking both the main camp and the waterfall, Andromeda was jogging her way towards the big hunting field, looking for her apprentice. Andromeda had been shirking her duties- yes she had.
She heard Nyria before she saw her. She was asking someone if they wanted to play. Andromeda grinned. Apparently Nyria wasn't too upset. As she entered the clearing, Andromeda resisted the urge to look behind and see if Medium had followed. Actually, it was a hastily patched "I meant to...uh... scratch my back paw. Yeah." type job. Instead of glancing behind her, she licked the tip of a back paw as if it'd been itching.
"Hey, guys. Sorry, Nyria... I got distracted," she said, nodding a friendly hello to both Ripplepaw and Nyria.
"Perhaps you'll forgive me if I teach you about hunting?" she asked Nyria, grinning. In way she was glad she'd kind of had the lesson chosen for her. This was a great place to teach hunting, and she hadn't really thought of what she was going to teach Nyria. Hunting seemed like a good spur-of-the-moment choice.

October bounded through the fields after Ripple, hopping on two paws, then three, then back to four, almost like a little dance as he hummed to himself. He spun after his tail before walking straight again, almost running into the trio and stumbling over the rabbit before them. He sat up, dazed, and smiled.
"Now, my audience! I shall show you...
MY DISAPPEARING ACT!!" He caterwauled into the deep blue sky. He closed his eyes, standing very still, then erupted into a run and finally running smack into Ripplepaw. October got up once more, giving a wide smile at the probably quizical looks he was receiving. "See! Tada! I reappeared again! And you didn't see me run into this young tom over here!" He indicated Ripple, spreading a wide smile over his odd appearance.
"And for my last act, I shall.. Pierce swords through a heart! AND IT WILL
LIIIIIIIVVVVVVEEEE!!" He yowled, making his last word deep and blunt, almost like Dory talking whale if you've ever seen that movie.
But October hasn't.
"And volunteers!!" He asked sweetly, turning to look at the cats around him, then took one look at the dead rabbit. "Ah, you with the green hare!! Come on up!" He yowled, pouncing on it, making dramatic swiping sounds and sword clangings, then a deep sizzle like lightsabres ringing against eachother. He cackled, rolling over in his laughter, leaving a single puncture wound in the already dead prey. He closed his eyes again, still laughing. "Y'still can't see meeeee!!"

"Thanks!" Ripplepaw smiled at the younger -but larger- apprentice's compliment, her ears tipping back slightly in embarrassment. "I learned how to hunt way back when I was a kit, so I guess it comes with practice. Keep trying and you'll get really good at it!" She would have totally done a rockleethumbsup-ping if she could.
"Or," the apprentice added, motioning Andromedra with an enthusiastic nod that doubled as a return greeting, "take up your mentor's suggestion for hunting and go and practice right now!" Ripplepaw giggled. Nyria's mentor had impeccable timing, really.
Anything else the she-cat was going to say remained unsaid, as suddenly, the mad tom, who had assumedly un-intentionally insulted her last time by calling her a male, materialised out of nowhere and just KNOCKED HER OVER.
...and now he was engaged in a sword fight with the dead rabbit she caught.
.......did she just get called a tom again?

She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands I get a little bit She gets a little more She's Miss America
Medium appeared at that very moment, his head tilted in curiosity.
Warm brown in color, flecked lighter, and with muddy amber eyes, the tom was neither good-looking nor ugly; neither large nor small; neither fat nor skinny. He was absolutely ordinary in every way. He bowed his head in greeting to the others, meowing in welcome, "Hello."
Of course, they'd forget he was there in a moment. Everyone always did. Except Andromeda, right?
"You're pretty fast," Medium laughed, padded over to stand beside her, his unremarkable amber eyes warm. He had done many things today, including taking a plunge off the waterfall and falling from a tree; he was tired, he was slowing down. So it was no wonder he was so far behind Andromeda.
And I'm just the boy next door [/blockquote]

She giggled as October appeared and ran into Ripplepaw, then called the she-cat a tom, and finished by sparing with the dead rabbit.
"That is a nice trick, October," she said. This was becoming quite the party. She prrred another short laugh, and grinned. The more people, the better!
And Medium was here, too! Her grin became a fond smile as she met his eyes.
"Yeah... But I haven't jumped off waterfalls and acted like a squirrel today," she commented. This morning, she might have forgotten him around the other cats. She was easily distracted that way. But she was used to him being there now, after hanging out with him all day, so she wasn't likely to forget his existence.
"So, who wants to hunt?" she asked.
