Spottedpaw lay awake, tossing and turning in the Apprentice's Den. Her long white fur was getting dirty from all the rolling around. She sat up, and looked around. All the other apprentice's were asleep.
Maybe I'll just go for a walk. She thought. She carefully crept out of the Apprentice's Den, careful not to wake anyone. Once she was out, she looked around. No one was up. Spottedpaw turned to the roaring waterfall. The moonlight shone through, causing her light gray spots to sparkle.
Spottedpaw looked around again.
There's nobody up. Maybe...maybe I'll just get some fresh air.
Spottedpaw quickly darted passed the waterfall. She padded down to the pool of water, and lay down. She closed her blue eyes.
I won't fall asleep. I'm just resting! She told herself. But soon, the deep drumming of the waterfall, and the light rippling of the water lulled her to sleep.
