The Egyptian Mau patted across the fields, and stopped at the stream. She bowed her head to drink some water. Blackspeckle lapped the water hungrily, then sat down, waiting patiently for the so called "leader".
She had heard lots of stories about forest cats, but had never encountered them before. Blackspeckle just sat there, alert, and waited for acceptance. Maybe the "clan" will accept her, and love her more then her kin.

Lillystar stood on very high rock that overlooked the territory. Breezes intensified by the churning waterfall blew against her thick pelt. Gold dust colored eyes scanned the terra for signs of movement. She was looking for prey, but her eyes found something else. Yet again, there was a stranger on the borders. She leapt down from the rock and trotted over to investigate.
"What brings you onto my lands stranger?" she asked the newcomer. |

Blackspeckle flickered her ears. Is this the "leader"?
"I-I uh, want t-to, umm.." She staggered, trying to stand tall. She felt powerless against the leader. The unfamiliar cat just looked.. powerful, and full of confidence.
Finally, Blackspeckle took a deep breath, and announced,
"I have come here, to be a warrior."

Lillystar quirked her head to the side a bit. Few cats had ever just come out and admitted that they wanted to be accepted.
"Oh have you now?" she asked, a slight smile on her maw. "Do you have any reasons to defend your worthiness?" |

Say what now?
Blackspeckle expected the leader to be.. leader-ish, but what the heck is worthiness? Are all clan cats like this?
"I, uh, will do anything to be accepted in the clan! I'll be the best, you'll see!"
Blackspeckle prayed it was the right thing to say, the leader didn't seem that mean, the she-cat had a smile on her! She puffed her chest out as she waited for the leader's response

Lillystar was happy that this cat seemed so intent on pleasing her. She didn't need suck-ups, but it would be nice to have one so eager to do right.
"I suppose we have room for you, but you'll have to follow me through that waterfall..." she said, gesturing with her tail. |
