Shadowstreak padded through the tall grass, keeping her pawsteps quiet. She wanted to explore this clan's territory, but she didn't want to have to fight someone who thought she was trespassing. She paused briefly and sniffed the air, scenting many cats on the breeze.
"This is quite the place..." she said to herself, admiring the waterfall she had stopped in front of. "I wonder who their leader is..."
Deciding to take her chances, she meowed a friendly grerting towards the camp. She then sat and waited for someone to reply.

Whisperstars' small ears flicked as she heard the meow on the edge of the MistClan borders where she was travelling. She trotted over towards the sound and noticed the other cat along the MistClan border and meowed a greeting in return to it.
"Why, welcome to the MistClan borders. I do not recognize you... are you a traveller?"
Her whiskers twitched as she scented the other cat. She seemed normal enough, and didn't smell as though she was a Rogue in the Rogue Meadow.

Shadowstreak looked up at the sound of the new cat's voice. Her ears perked forward and she listened for the emotions in the reply, which she determined to be friendly.
"Yes ma'am, my name is Shadowstreak...and I was wondering if it were possible to join this clan...you by any chance the leader?" she yowled back.

Whisperstar purred and nodded as she smiled to herself. Another cat interested in joining MistClan... it has all been too good to be true. After the plague and two-legs wiped them out, she expected MistClan never to grow and flourish again, and she would live out her nine lives to nothing.
"Yes, I am the leader of MistClan, and I am glad to see you interested in joining our Clan. You're swiftness and quiet of step intrigues me... I would be happy to accept you as a MistClan warrior, if that's what you choose."

Shadowstreak's mottled ears perked at the suggestion of being a warrior. She looked to Whisperstar with a thrilled expression on her face, her cheeks lifting in a cat-like smile.
"Oh that would be wonderful...I could become a warrior just like that?!" she asked, extremely excited. "Oh I'd be so grateful...I've been lonesome so long..."

Whisperstar smiled back and dipped her lithe head in a nod, her green eyes bright with the thought of yet another MistClan Warrior. Of course, she knew not all cats could be trusted nowadays, but she supposed that would have to be dealt with when the time came.
"Yes, just like that. Warrior ceremonies are no longer... appreciated in this Valley. A Warrior just ets accepted into the Clan as one, and the Leader watches to make sure they uphold what they're supposed to."

Shadowstreak hesitated, not sure how to take what Whisperstar had just said.
"You mean you don't honor your traditions anymore?" she asked. "Oh it would be grand if I could have a real ceremony...do you think you could try to bring them back, maybe I could be the first?"
Her calm tone was betrayed by her excitement and she couldn't resist standing and shifting from paw to paw.

Shadowstreak waited for an answer, but she also noticed that the leader seemed to be in a hurry and thought that maybe she'd better just go into the camp.
" 'Spose I'll see you later then..." she said, feeling a little embarassed and a little left out. That's too be expected though... she told herself in reprimand. You've barely joined this clan, you can't expect to be welcomed into everything automatically. She strode into the camp and looked around to see if anyone had been left behind for her to talk to.
"It'd be nice to meet...somebody..." she remarked quietly. "Is anyone still here?!" she called into the surrounding emptiness.

Whisperstar opened her muzzle slightly before flicking her ears and bounding after the other, turning her around and stopping in front of her. She wasn't angry, but she didn't want this other cat to get the wrong idea. She dipped her head and looked back at the other, her leaf colored eyes reflecting the sun in the sky.
"I'm sorry that you're excited about ceremonies, but I'm afraid they just don't happen around here anymore..."
She sat down, still in front of the other cat so she wouldnt try to go anywhere.
"Warrior ceremonies were abandoned when the plague, drought, and two-legs came. A lot of Clan tradition was forgotten in the hard times... Medicine Cats never visited Secret Caves, Apprentices were shoved into Warrior ranks without being ready- things were chaos. I suppose such things were just forgotten and looked at no use. Of course, we still hold a meeting and have happiness when an apprentice becomes a Warrior, but that is all."

(Umm...I'll just have her answer and then continue the posts inside the camp. Shadowstreak is already in there and Silverthroat just met her...kind of)
Shadowstreak was a bit taken aback, but she kept her calm. Dipping her head respectfully she said, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't speak lightly of things I know little of...I'll just head into the camp then..." With that she turned and trudged off into the main camp.
