Mistytail silently stalked along the edges of what was obviously a cat-clan boundary. She could smell that there were cats here, and she didn't want to intrude, but her paws were tired, and she longed simply for...a little time to relax.
She mewed softly and treaded the ground a little with her paws, uncertainty in every line of her fur. She sat down and decided to wait for awhile, to see if any catscent became stronger, to see if any cats would scent her and come and see that she was no threat.
Idly, she began grooming her fur and her tired paws. She didn't want to look shabby/ill-groomed when she met cats afterall. She wanted to put her best paw forward. She knew her lack of tail was going to make fellow cats look at her funny anyways.

Indeed, a cat had smelt the newcomer, and Whisperstar was well on her way to greet the one at her borders. Her light pawsteps fell on the lush grass surrounding the heart of MistClan as she came up to the other, examining her frame and demeanour before giving a slight dip and turn of her head to show a greeting.
"Why, hello there, stranger. I am Whisperstar, the Clan leader of MistClan, which is the territory that lies ahead of you."
She looked over the other ahead, smiling slightly as she noticed the recently groomed fur, but also the slightly tired look of the stranger. It was likely she had travelled, but Whisperstar could never be sure. She was always a cautious one.
"You look a bit weary. But as I do not just bring cats into my Clan, may I inquire why, such a cat as yourself, you're here? Perhaps to rest, or to find a new Clan?"
She asked the question carefully, not wanting to intrude on the others' personal space. The cat before her was more mature then the ones she's used to seeing, and she respected her in such a way.

Mistytail smiled when she heard the name of Whisperstar's clan.
"Mistyclan, eh? Hmm...well, I'm named Mistytail. Almost seems like...an omen of sorts, for a cat named Mistytail to find a clan called by the name of Mistyclan. Though I can see where your clan gets your name.
I'm here...I guess because I'm tired. I've been wandering for a very long time, and I'm just getting too old for this lifestyle. I'm not such a young cat anymore. Though I'm still a great hunter. I'm looking...to settle down. The life of a lone cat wears a cat down after awhile."
Mistytail sighed softly and looked at Whisperstar.
"I don't suppose you might have room in your clan for another cat? I'm pretty much a cat-of-all-trades. I'm skilled in medicine cat ways, and I'm a good provider. I've lived with a clan before, though it was a very very long time ago, and I'm just...too old now to want to stay on this lonely path. Perhaps Starclan lead my paws here, I don't know, but it seems to me that Starclan works in mysterious ways, and this might be one of them"
Mistytail looked at Whisperstar hopefully, treading her feet a little as she nervously waited to see what this clan leader would say. She hoped with all her heart that this clan wouldn't turn her away, wouldn't chase her off simply because she was not a young cat and because she had been a loner. She wanted to much to be accepted, and to finally have a place to rest her paws, and feel...at home.

Whisperstar smiled at that and touched her nose to the others in a gentle agreement, her tailtip flicking idly.
"I always have room in my Clan for those wanting a place to finally rest and settle down. I'm sure you will be a great asset to MistClan, as even your name represents us well."
She turned slightly in direction to the waterfall in the North, not too far away
"Our current medicine cat, Silverthroat, will be pleased to see another cat interested in the trade, I'm sure. The Camp is by the waterfall, not too far North from where we stand. Do you think you can make it there?"
