Holly kit alone

A small brown and white kit with a blue eye and a emerald eye awoke to the sound of a waterfall.The little kit looked around and mewed for her mother not understanding that her mother was dead."Mom! Where are you!" she mewed.she walked around a little and gave up. She currled up in the mud and fell asleep.

Lillystar slipped through the waterfall, shaking the wetness from her pelt. She was about to start a patrol, when she nearly tripped over a kit, curled up in the mud. Placing her paws carefully, she stepped around it and then doubled back to peer at it more closely. It couldn't have been away from its mother long, or it would surely look worse off than it did. She prodded it gently with her forepaw, trying to rouse it.

Holly kit woke up to gentle proding and jumped freightend by the cat looking at her. She slowly backed up and then she backed straight into the waterfall."Ahhhhhhh I'm wet!" she mewed running forward. Then she stopped right in front of the she-cat." I I'm sorry if I was in your way, its just that that I'm looking for my mother and and I I can't find her and I'm really sorry." she stuttered.

Lillystar instantly felt a wave of sympathy wash over her. This poor kit was all alone and certainly not old enough to fend for herself. She sat down and touched her nose to the little kit's brow.

"It's alright little one," she said, drawing away. "I was afraid of trampling you, that's all..." She looked around and sniffed, trying to figure out if there were any other unfamiliar scents in the area. She scented nothing, apart from the kit and the stale odor of a mouse. "What's your name and how did you end up here?" she asked Hollykit.

Holly kit looked at the she-cat and purred "Well my names Holly kit and well first my mother was attacked by a black cat in roge medow and then my sister was thrown into a bush and thats all I remember and then I woke up here."She mewed

Lillystar vaguely remembered hearing of a rather nasty black cat that lived out in the rogue meadows. She feared that this kit's kin were most likely not coming back for her.

"Well for now at least, come into the camp, you look cold and you need to have something to eat..." she said gently. "Do you eat solids yet...or was your mother still suckling you?"

Holly kit purred even louder than before" Um I think solids are ok" she mewed

Lillystar looked fondly at the tiny kit.

"Well then, follow me!" she said, trotting up to the waterfall and waiting for the kit. "You'll learn not to fear the waterfall, its the fastest way in and out, though if you're ever nimble enough there is a slim passageway that goes around it..."

Hollykit followed Lillystar through the waterfall. She purred happy to have a new home.
