The black she-cat padded through the misty land. Her face, paws, tailtip, and ears were all dark brown; her name was Mudface. She caught the scent of a familiar clan - MistClan. Her senses told her they were near. She felt that old desire well up in her bones again, the desire to be with a clan. Sure, rogue life was nice - hunting only for onesself and never worrying about Warrior Code, but she missed the company of other cats. Her fur rippling in the cool wind, Mudface trotted right to the border. She sat up on a rock, staring longinly at the majestic waterfall she knew to be her dream-home. She'd love any clan to accept her, yes, but MistClan was her life's goal. She wanted to move in, make friends, and even have kits of her own. She missed her siblings so badly. Someday she'd be a queen with a litter of tiny kits and she'd teach them to be the best warriors ever. But she didn't know if acceptance was really that easy. In fact, she knew it wasn't. she knew it'd be difficult and she'd have to prove her loyalty. Mudface layed her head on her paws. Her fur was short but thick and fluffy and her build was strong. She may be a clumsy hunter, but she could learn! "...Leave it to them not to believe me." she mumbled, feeling that she'd end up being made fun of. but hope faintly glimmered in her eyes as she prepared for anything that may happen....

The pretty mottled she-cat patrolled her borders with the utmost grace. Her rather large form was graceful and lithe, her paws gliding over the slippery rocks of her Clan's boundarries. She had finished scent marking the fringes of their range and was heading back toward camp, when she spotted the stranger. Coming to a sliding stop near the river bank, she called out to the stranger.
"Hail, what brings you to my borders stranger?"

Mudface looked up. "I was passing through." she said, not wanting to rush into asking clan admittance. She knew all too well that you don't prance up to a cat and ask to be in said cat's clan.

Lillystar inclined her head to the stranger.
"Oh, so are you going to pass on through or not?" she asked, a gleam of playfullness in her eyes. She figured out what the cat was really after.

Mudface trotted a few feet in another direction. "What're you getting at?" she asked with almost a smirk played across her face.

It seemed the other cat understood what she had been alluding to.
"What I mean is are you really passing through or did you come here to join my Clan?" she said.

Mudface smirked. "You're smart." she said. "..Yes, I am looking to join a clan." she said, ruffling her dark fur.

Lillystar cocked her head playfully at the other. She liked a cat that could appreciate her tact as well as her intelligence.
"Well you are welcome to join MistClan as long as you are loyal and brave," she said cheerfully.

Mudface was surprised at how welcomed she was - she'd never really expected such tolerance. "Thank you." she nodded, dipping her head respectfully.

Lillystar turned and began a brisk walk toward the waterfall.
"You'll have to get wet, because our camp is through here," she explained, standing at the edge of the rushing water, waiting.

"I don't mind," she said, gazing at the water..it was beautiful, and rather inviting compared to her old abode.
