Brown-black paws padded on, slowly so slowly, the pads cracked and bleeding; worn down from mile after mile of padding.
Where were they taking her?
Timescar reflected, so briefly, as she continued on.
Wolfspirit was gone, his flesh long rotten to leave his bones beneath that tree he had died under. He was gone.
And she was still here.
Ah, but although the past still haunted the large she-cat, she had made a sort of peace with it.
The shame at her cowardice would linger though.
Not paying attention, Timescar darted lightly across a path of small stones leading across the river. It had rained only recently, the stones were still damp.
Her hind leg slipped.
And down, down into the chilling, rushing water the she-cat went. Spluttering, her head broke the surface of the rushing waters, sucking in a breath of air before she went under again.
As the current drug the large female along, a rock, jutting from the waters, suddenly swarmed into view. She slammed into the rock sideways and, while she had been fighting the current, she suddenly went limp.
The water carried her.
It was only when the water slowed; the current ebbed a bit, when the form of a feline gently washed up within the Mistclan boundaries. The body, heavy brown-black fur with a blazing dash of white on her chest extending up her face, laid on the bank – not moving save for the occasional breath.
Broken?
No.
Then there was movement. Hauntingly beautiful emerald eyes opened, looking around. She didn’t move, stabbing pain tearing along her left leg, causing her to take a ragged breath.
Ouch.
It wasn’t broken, she could tell that much, but the musculature was badly bruised. Winching slightly, she finally battled off the pain and shakily stood to her paws, holding her hurt leg off the ground.

Eyes shimmering with gold dust, pelt emblazoned with bright flowers, the she-cat called this territory home. Patrolling her borders was a favorite passtime of hers and she protected her home with a fierce spirit. As she checked the river banks for prey or intruders, she came upon a dark-colored she-cat. Judging from the way the femme held her leg, she was quite painfully injured. Cautiously, Lillystar approached.
"Hey there, what happened to your leg?" she asked, stepping out of the mist to stand before the stranger.

Ears slid back, flattening at the sound of another she-cat’s voice. After all, it wasn’t familiar…but if it had been familiar to the battered and soaking she-cat that would have been even more disturbing.
They were all now dead. Her entire clan, Horizonclan.
And she had run away.
Agony blazed through her mind; shame.
Timescar turned those emeralds on the other she-cat, the deep gaze haunted and pained. But it wasn’t physical pain.
“I’m….I’m sorry to have intruded here. I slipped on the stepping stones and fell into the river.”

Lillystar looked the she-cat over carefully. Fear scent came off of her in waves and she didn't appear to be faking her injury. To add to that, Lillystar could detect no noticeable scent of any clan on her fur. Though it could be surmised that the river had washed the smell away, the large leader decided to give this stranger the benefit of the doubt.
"So are you alone then?" she asked, having not scented any others with her.

Alone….
Alone alone alone alone alone…
The word chanted through the beaten she-cat’s mind, and her white blazed face lowered, her tail low.
All in all, the looks of a cat who had been defeated. But there was a fire, a spark, deep in the back of that haunted green gaze.
Once she had been quite the warrior. But could she find the strength to forgive herself, and be so again?
Timescar moved, hopping awkwardly on her one good leg so that she to relax, unable to stand up anymore. She was tired…so tired…
All she wanted to do was fall asleep forever….even if it was the freezing cold that was affecting her, sinking her into a state of hypothermia.
“I’m alone….Horizonclan is gone…I’m the last…”

Lillystar sensed a great sadness in this she-cat. She also spoke of a Clan that the leader had never heard of before, but it was clear from what she spoke, that the Clan was no more.
"I'm sorry...I never meant to cause you pain..." she said, walking up to the other she-cat. "If you'd like, you can take shelter in my Clan at least until you recover...we have a wonderful medicine cat that would be able to heal that leg and you could rest and eat well..." "You have no obligation to join, but if you decide so, you are welcome to stay..." The gold dust in her eyes settled into a vibrant sheen as she awaited the other's answer.

“It wasn’t you.”
The words, although softly spoken, were true. It wasn’t this she-cat’s fault.
Nothing that happened was her fault.
“My name is Timescar.”
She struggled to rise to her paws once again, a flare of determination burning in those emeralds, illuminating the purity of the shade. She shook her head, signifying that she didn’t want any help.
“I…I would like that. To rest.”
Her paws, the pads still cracked from here endless traveling, reopened and blood mingled with the freezing river water which dripped from her long coat, leaving bloody paw prints staining the ground beneath her.

Lillystar accepted the cat's decision and did not move to help her. Instead, she walked beside her and led her to the waterfall entrance.
"I'm afraid you'll have to get wet again, unless you can manage to slip past the falls on the sliver of land around to the left..." she warned the other she-cat, gesturing with her tail.

Timescar managed to smile, slightly. With her bad leg, carried off the ground, there was no way she would be foolish enough to try to use the sliver of land.
“I’m already wet. What’s the worry about getting even more?”
Her muscles bunched, as she placed her bad leg on the ground and she sailed through the waterfall and into the camp. There, her leg shook terrible and she collapsed on her rump, pain reflecting through her senses. She shouldn’t have done such an action. Ah well.
