Here are some things you should know, since you are new:
1) Read the rules very thoroughly. They should explain to you what godmoding and powerplaying are. Godmoding and powerplaying are something you should never, never do.
2) IC = In Character (when you are playing your character). OOC = Out of Character (when you are speaking as yourself). A lot of people spell it OCC, which isn't right.
3) Never, never post OOC topics in the IC areas. You have just done this. This post does not belong here; you do not play your character in this post, so it is an OOC post. Also, you don't need to apologize, just delete the other post. It's not like you offended us.
4) Double-posting is a big no-no most of the time. Double-posting is when you post with a character in a RP, then reply after yourself. A lot of new people do this; they RP with themselves. This is bad form; RP-ing is a social thing. You have to RP with other people. Also, a lot of newbs double-post when they forgot something. So you know (you'd be suprised how many don't!) there's an edit button to the right of the page. Look for it. ^^ Edit posts intead of adding a reply after. There are times when it is ok, but until you have enough experience on a RP site, I suggest you try to avoid it entirely.
5) Always proofread your posts. A lot of new members don't, and I've seen spelling so bad I can't read it. There's a spell-checker built into the site, so you can run your posts through that. Check it to make sure it makes sense. If the spell-checker on the site gives you problems, open up Microsoft Word or something similar. All computers should have that program.
If you have any questions, ask! ^^ We don't bite.
