Giddykit ran through the meadow. There was a really bad storm. "Mommy! Mommy!" he called. He did so all day and night. He could not remember well that she was hit by a car. Giddykit tripped on a rock and stumbled. He was very hungry. Giddykit was only 2 moons and couldn't hunt. The other rouges called him Skin 'n' Bones but wouldn't help him.

Mommy! Mommy! Said a silky tone behind the kit, but the darkness veiled the tom from showing himself. The show was almost teasing, taunting, insulting. But that was Sharpfang for you. He slid almost like a serpent from the grass as he stepped around the grass and weeds, watching the young kit with hollow and lifeless eyes. He hacked and coughed, wheezing out a few more words. Face it, Kit. Yer mother ain't comin' back if you call for her, and she does not respond! He cackled insanely, stopping to cough some more. By the looks of him, it appeared his days were being numbered. A closer examination showed he was far from it, and he was hanging in there okay. The tom skulked around the whimpering kit, sniffing at the death that radiated from the kit's coat. He was so close to it.. He hadn't eaten in days, THAT was obvious by the ribs showing through his thin fur. And having no queen to look after him..? Pity. Sheer pity. He was even pitiful to look at. And Sharpfang just thought it bad that he had to listen to his moans day in and day out! Perhaps Boneclan could be of service to Giddykit..? No, Bane would not accept. He needed strong kits, not weak young kittens. The tom appeared to be sneering, but it was cause of his single snaggle fang that jutted into his chin. He sat down across from the kit, tail flicking mildly as he examined the kit. Rougue meadows are no place for kits like you. You might as well join one of the brat clans, who think they rule the entire forest by believing in something that doesn't exist! Wheezed the tom, laughing out loud. Run along home now. Back to your kittypet home, where you belong?Skin 'n Bones indeed. Pity... ((Here comes Sharpfangy! Don't mind him. He's just a big bully. Don't have to listen to what the old coot thinks. ; )

Giddykit saw the tom. The words "She ain't coming back for you." rang in his mind. Then he remembered. "She ain't coming back for me because she's DEAD!!!" the kit shouted, loosing his breath, "And I have no (insert bad word) home!!!"
The kit ran away into the rain, but stumbled again, this time into a ditch. He lay there, he didn't have enough breath to get up again. He saw a beetle scurry in the grass. He slowly stretched out is paw to squish it. It quickly scurried away. "I can't even catch a (insert bad word) bug!" he sobbed. Then he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep. If no one nice enough to take him with them came, he would surely die.

Get.. Off.. My.. LAND!! Hissed a cat nearby the ditch, and two cats flew overhead of the kit as they soared over the ditch. The other appeared to be a rogue, dirty, nasty, smelly... Amberstar hissed, swinging a few unsheathed claws at the rogue, who yowled in protest. Alright! Alright! yowled the rogue cat, continuing to run even when the amber leader stopped. She turned tail and with a 'hmph', trotted back over to the ditch. About to jump over it, she paused and instead slid down the ditch next to the kit.
My, my, what've we here? Asked the leader kindly, eyes blinking softly, tail flicking softly to the beat of her melodic voice. Tell me, kitten. Do you need a home?

The kit didn't have the strength to answer correctly. He wasn't even concios. All he coughed horsely was "Food!".

She hesitated. The kit was not of her own clan, and it would be breaking the warrior code to simply feed another not of her kind, especially as a Leader! She contemplated but bolted away. At first, it seemed she was taking off on the kit.. But it was proven wrong when she returned with the buried mouse she had before she spotted the rogues. She shredded at the fur for the scent, so the kit would rouse to his feet to eat. She dropped it by his mouth, eyes wide with concern. It couldn't hurt if this kit was hungry.. She wasn't feeding an adult, a loner or a rogue.
Pitiful indeed.

The kit woke up by the scent. He looked at it hungrily. He dove in eating it ravinously. As he got deaper, he realized there was a scent there that was not rogue. As soon as he was finished eating, he vowed he would find who gave him the mouse to thank him or her. So, he set out of Rogue Meadow.
