Graystripe?

So, do you think Graystripe is just a gray cat, or does he have stripes?

Some argue that he doesn't have stripes because there is no mention he is a tabby, and he was just badly named. But others think he does have stripes for other reasons.


I personally think he does have stripes, because of his name mostly, and I just imagined him that way?

But the 'official' image of him on the website shows he doesnt have stripes. Hmm...

what do you guys think?

I've always thought of him as a light gray tabby with stripes. In the "official pictures" I think they got a lot of things wrong, for instance Sandstorm's picture shows her with lots of big dark orange stripes down her back isn't she spoused to be a pale orange tabby with barely visible darker orange stripes?

or maybe his stripes are really pale? :/ and Erin Hunter couldn't think of anything else to name him xDD

I imagined Graystripe to be a lighish dark grey long haired cat, and with darker grey stripes. Like all the rest that said this, that would be his namesake. But Icekit is right. That's exactly what Sandpaw looks like (I reread the first book for the 3rd time. :]))

No, no, no, no! Graystripe doesn't have stripes! His description is a "Long-haired solid gray tom". If he had stripes he'd be a "Long-haired gray tabby tom".

There was a question about this to Cherith Baldry once; she said Graystripe doesn't have stripes.

As for his name, she said she thought of him more as a "stripe of gray". Stormfur looks just like Graystripe, and his description is "Solid dark gray tom".

In Moonrise, Feathertail says she wouldn't think of Stormfur's pelt as silver, but more of a darker, solid gray, like her father's, clean of any lighter or darker shades.

For some reason it annoys me when people confuse it.. -don't be mad, I'm not- Graystripe is a long-haired, solid gray tom, and he is a stripe of gray..

Jet is right, hes a soild grey kitty. This of some of the other names, they dont fit... I think! Graystripe just sounds better then Graypelt, i guess.

All of the names with "face" implimented in them somehow have always made me laugh. Like Barkface. Lawl.
