Scarlet vs. Squirrelpaw

[Runner]

Scarlet padded confidently through the battle. Challenging words flew through the air, but the words of some unlucky cat grabbed Scarlet's attention. She turned, and saw a tom apprentice, calling for battle. She ran her pick tongue over sharp teeth, then raised her voice in a battle yowl, standard procedure, the prelude, the overture, the foreshadowing of battle.

[Duskwingflight]

Squirrelpaw turned around to see his call was answered by a she-cat. The smell of Boneclan was clear. He awaited the attacker, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. "So you will be the unlucky Boneclan cat." His challenge was clear enough. He unsheathed his claws.

[Runner]

Scarlet circled. "Come on," she hissed. "Too scared? Come on, fight like the- oh, wait. That wouldn't apply to you. You can't really be considered a tom, can you?" Her black tail lashed, curling the slightest as she let out a mocking laugh.

[Duskwingflight]

Not considered a tom?! Squirrelpaw thought angrily.How dare she! He couldn't wait any longer, lashing out hoping to claw the cat's shoulder.

[Runner]

"I seem to have struck a nerve," she hissed as she lightly danced away from his claws, only recieving a slight abrasion on her shoulder. "Now, I already got mats out of my fur. You don't need to comb it for me. This is a fight, not time for grooming." With that, she flipped, rolling towards Squirrelpaw's feet.

[Duskwingflight]

This cat was on his last nerve. "I would hold your tongue if I were you... but why would I, your nothing but a mouse Brained cat!" He hissed. He then tried to jump away but only to lose his feet as she tumbled into him. He lost balanced and tripped but before he fell he reached out trying to bit the cats leg.

[Runner]

Scarlet felt pain in her leg, and began to kick it about madly. She reached out with her claws, trying to snag the tom's exposed belly. If she could just get a hold in his underbelly, she chould use her favorite battle move. She remembered when she'd learned it as a kit, using her long limbs to her own advantage.

[Duskwingflight]

Squirrelpaw bit down hard, only to feel a prick in his stomach. He tried to get away but Scarlets paws where stuck. He lost his hold on her leg. He had to get out, he realized that the battle was going to get worse. He kept struggling hoping to get free before she attacked.

[Runner]

Scarlet smiled. Got him. She pulled him in closer, trying to dig her claws in deeper, to get a better hold. She began to lift him into the air as she rolled. She struggled under his weight, trying to let her limbs unfold above her, trying to stretch them out so he couldn't reach her.

[Duskwingflight]

Squirrelpaw had to think fast. He started to panic as he was being lift. He had to think quick. He raised his paw and tried to slash across her face. But he just couldn't reach.Then he tried to scratch at Scarlet's paws. Hoping that that would be enough to make her let go.

[Runner]

Scarlet winced, but just barely. She simply dug her claws in deeper. She lowered her hind legs, then pounded them into Squirrelpaw's stomach, then began to somersault backwards.

[Duskwingflight]

Squirrelpaw yowled in pain. He couldn't take it any more.He had to escape. He got his hind legs after a few somersaults, he pushed down on the ground just as soon as one of the somersaults were through. He pushed himself backwards, trying to launch himself into the air, then trying to turn his body so that when he landed Scarlet would be the one to bear the landing.

[Runner]

Scarlet's eyes flashed, slightly annoyed. She lifted up her feet, her claws unsheathed, her teeth bared. She was lying pointy side up. Then again, all of Scarlet's sides were pointy. If Squirrelpaw landed on her, which was how he was coming done, it seemed, he would get alot of claws, and maybe a few teeth. I think he's getting desparate, Purrrrfect.

Squirrelpaw then began to realize something. If he kept going with this plan then his belly would be exposed. The then tried to unlatch before hitting the ground, he lay limp pretending to be exhausted, hoping this would make Scarlet relax enough to escape.

[Runner]

Scarlet padded forward, and bent her black head close to his ear.
"I let you go. This time. If we meet again, I'll show no mercy," she hissed.
Then, her black pelt glowing in the sunlight, she padded away, though she kept her ears pricked, in case he decided to get up and fight again.

[Duskwingflight]

Squirrelpaw laughed. "I tricked you, mouse brained cat!I'm not through with you." He couldn't believe it, he was just trying to get out of her grip and it tricked her to actually believing he have up! He stomach hurt though, but that wouldn't stop him. He charged at the cat trying to leap on to her back and if he did that he would latch on biting hard on her ear.

[Runner]

"Bad move, kit," hissed Scarlet, turning full circle. She felt weight on her back, and immeaditely turned once-twice- faster, faster. Teeth in her ear, pain. A thorn in her side. She began to add a bucking motion to the spinning, dipping low, then jumping high.

[Duskwingflight]

"Your going to pay for those insults earlier." When Scarlet began to buck he tried to hold on tighter but it was to much. He fell off. Before he did anything else he rolled away before she could jump on him. "Had enough?" He said panting heavily but not giving up that easily.

[Runner]

"Hardly," she hissed, ignoring the blood dripping from her in small streams. It hurt, yes, but loosing to an apprentice would hurt worse. Then, she sat down, and curled her tail around her paws, masking the unsheathed claws. "Isn't it time for your nap?"
